I have two of these stands and have used them on hundreds of 4 hour gigs. These stands are rock solid and you can adjust them to fit anywhere with one hand and they hold rock solid in place. There is a nut on the base of the stand that can be tightened if you want it to be a little less tight. The hand clutch allows you to easily raise and lower the stand height and the mic clip releases the mic with a flip of a lever.I made a pedal board with a little cut out in the front to fit one of the legs through the hole to get the mic stand closer to me, but you can easily just turn the stand around and use it with your pedal board. This stand will not get stripped out and end up being useless like the others on the market. The price on these stands have come down a great ... MoreI have two of these stands and have used them on hundreds of 4 hour gigs. The price on these stands have come down a great deal from when I bought mine so its an incredible bargain now.Do yourself a favor and buy one, you will LOVE it

I first used this Hercules Tilt Microphone Stand whist performing in Vegas. I really love the simplicity of it, and the expedience in which it can be adjusted. I'm a 5'2" female vocalist, and often perform as a "special guest", so having to adjust someone else's mic from 'normal' to what my bandmates and I call "Frodo Baggins" height can be tedious. With the 'grip' height adjustment and the tilt option, I can easily set it to my height, and re-adjust it when I've finished. The stand is stable and the 'clip grip' safely secures the mic and makes it easy to transition from being on and off the stand.

First off, I LOVE the design of this mic. It's exactly what I need. I play some guitar but mostly sing so having the ability to tilt the stand at an angle whenever needed is a HUGE plus. The grip adjust ment is nice as well, overall I really love this stand. My only problem is after about 2-3 years of owning it, the stand no longer adjusts, it's like it rusted in one spot. I tried WD-40 and several other things to get it to move and it won't budge, even hit the top of it with a hammer, it moved it but didn't knock it loose. It is locked in an unusable state. A real bummer. For the somewhat high price, I really don't want to invest in a new one every 2-3 years.I also noticed that the threading didn't quite line up correctly so my mics were always off centered, I'd ... MoreFirst off, I LOVE the design of this mic. I don't know if anyone else has had these issues or not.

I am temporarily using this as a lead singer in my rock band. We play weddings and clubs every weekend. This stand is great. Build like a tank. The tilt is a very nice option to eliminate using a boom. You can tighten or loosen the tilt as needed. The only thing I didn't like about it is the threads do not seem fit standard mic clips so you're stuck with the one that comes with it and The weight is a little heavy for someone moving the stand around during performing. If you want the light weight Steven Tyler special this might not be the one. I will be replacing two more stands with these.
This stand was great right out of the box. Setup took mere seconds. The vertical post is held between friction pads on the base, no tools needed, just set it and forget it. The stand comes with a mic clip, so no need to buy one unless you prefer a different style of clip. You can use the stand set to 90 degrees to the floor like a standard mic stand, or tilt it towards you at an angle, and that is the really cool feature. It has plenty of reach and height to clear your guitar and present the mic at a comfortable height without a boom.I would not recommend this stand for vocalist who like to swing their mic stand around or use it like a dancer's pole. It swivels back and fourth and is definitely more suited for folks who set their mic stand and don't move it ... MoreThis stand was great right out of the box. Setup took mere seconds. It could be re tightened, but that would require tools.I don't know why nobody else has thought of this design before, it is just what I needed, and is great for guitar or bass players who don't like a mic stand right in front of them. No moving stands up and down and booms in and out, up and down. You can set this stand one-handed, on the fly with the squeeze handle. Try one, you will like it.
HERCULES MICROPHONE AND GUITAR STANDS are so good, Ive finally found a mike stand and guitar stand that I have complete confidence with and will last. These HERCULES products are SOLID and well worth the money AAAAAA+
This is made well but will not work for many. If you use a pedal board the leg restricts you from getting the mic close enough to use correctly. The ability to tilt towards you is not enough. Your pedal board is likely to be placed on top of that support in order to get close to the mic. For that feature alone this is not recommended for a musician that sings and uses floor pedals, effects. The novelty of quick adjustment and a solid feel looses its advantage there alone. If you do not play and instrument or use floor pedals this should work for you. I bought the guitar holder a few years back that I loved but it lost the ability to lock up because the cam that applies pressure is plastic and has worn down. This is one stand we use for every event and we bought a lot of these. I wouldn't think of using any other stand as I had too many strip and wobble!Hercules is the Perfect Name for this Super Strong Stand
The guitarist in my band got one of these and I was impressed with how sturdy and flexible the tripod legs were. The legs can be rotated laterally, which adds to the versatility and stability of the overall stand. I find that when the legs are rotated to the shape of a sort of bird claw, the stand's pole can be tilted forward to where a boom is generally no longer needed. Our guitarist added a boom, but I (bass player) have elected not to add one. Adjustments to the stand are quick and easy. I ordered mine online and had it shipped to my house. Unfortunately, the universal mic clip that came with the stand was broken. If everything was intact I would have given 5 stars. I opted not to exchange the stand, because I intended to use the mic clip that is specific to my ... MoreThe guitarist in my band got one of these and I was impressed with how sturdy and flexible the tripod legs were. I opted not to exchange the stand, because I intended to use the mic clip that is specific to my mic anyway. The stand is a little pricey compared to other tripod stands, but I used a 15% off coupon and I'm generally happy with the value.
This stand is designed to be adjusted with only one hand. It allows you to protect your instrument while you adjust the stand "quickly" and "easily" to suit your preference. The average time required to make an "extreme" adjustment to this stand is about two seconds.Conventional stands frequently require using both hands to adjust. With those stands you run the risk of banging up you instrument while making the adjustment. Been there, done that.If you use the MS401B Transformer Tilt Base Microphone Stand just one time, you will never go back to the conventional "bang up your guitar" stand.Just spend the extra money and get over it. You will never regret the purchase.
