Surprisingly good. I use it as a boom, and for that it works great. 'Good height and extension.The locking mechanism is easy to use, maybe to easy, you have to be careful you don't release it as you move the stand around.

Fantastic mic stand. Superb quality and finish, and the one=handed operation make it very easy to adjust on the fly. Easily the best boom mic stand I've come across. Instead of having the usual matt black metal finish it has a coating of some sort that makes it look and feel great and reduces the chances of scratches. 10/10

Less than I expected from Hercules

I own several Hercules guitar stands and the amazingly good Hercules Transformer Tilt Base Mic stand but this 2-in-1 Boom Stand is simply not up to the quality I expect from Hercules.The good: The twist grip height adjustment and boom clamp for adjusting angle and boom length are easy to use and hold well.The bad: For some reason, they installed 3/8" studs on the top of the mic stand and at the end of the boom. The friction clamp only grips the last 1/2" of the stand below the stud. I wouldn't trust the boom to stay attached to the stand if you started moving it around with a mic mounted to the boom.Insult to injury: They did include a single 3/8" to 5/8" adapter for the end of the boom so you could mount a mic clip ... BUT IT'S PLASTIC!!! You could strip out the threads in a heartbeat.Bottom Line: This would be a decent stand if they put industry standard 5/8" threads at the end of the stand and the boom, eliminated the friction lock mount on the boom clamp and replaced it with threads. Given the current design, you're better off buying an On Stage or Ultimate Support boom stand - at least they come with the correct size screw thread mounts.

Really nice stand

I didn’t want to go mad and spend 60 quid on a stand as it’s mostly for home use but I didn’t want to spend 18 quid either so went for this one which looks the best compromise and it’s really nice it’s well-made haven’t used it in anger yet but it looks pretty good the reason for the four stars as opposed to 5 is it doesn’t come with mic clip. So then had to spend another £6 on a reasonable mic clip Which Hercules could’ve supplied with the stand probably at cost of another 40pSo my £30 Hercules boom stand plus postage 5.99 + another £6 for a reasonable Mic clip soon becomes £42Just saying The cost of postage plus I mic clip means your £30 very nice mikestand isn’t really £30.It is really nice though but the extras all add up

Review of Hercules MS432B Boom Microphone Stand

I have bought cheaper mic stands in the past and while they have been ok they eventually start falling apart. That was the case with the mic stand I was using so I went for Hercules because I know they have a good reputation. I have not been dissapointed. The stand seems very sturdy so hopefully it will stand the test of time.

Sturdy microphone stand. It would be nice to have a microphone clip as well with the microphone stand, but unfortunately, it needs to be bought separately. Just for the quality, I'd give 5/5

Review of Hercules Stage Series Mic Stand

Nice and lightweight, yet strong and seems durable. Only issue is that it does take a lot of tightening on the pivot point with the arm extended, even when using a lightweight condenser microphone. So i'm not sure if this will stand the test of time under that much stress. However that's only at over 3/4 extended, before that it's very easy to use. I love the twist mechanism on the main post, very strong and easy to use

Hands down my favourite mic stand for live use. Sturdy, solid and not a heartbraking amount of money when a drunken mess ttamples it trying to comvince me she can sing too…..Quality product, great service from start to finish.Boom.

What are they thinking?

I have read comments about this mic stand. It works great if you happen to get the correct boom sent. And I have NO IDEA what determines whether you will get a GREAT MIC STAND, OR, a useless metal sculpture. It has to do with the threaded end of the boom (AND stand, but flimsy plastic adapter for that). Tiny wide screw threads. Your mic clip WILL NOT secure to this stand without a LOT of duct tape! Only way! Again, maybe you were lucky enough to get the correct boom. I wasn't.
