It was a great price. The bag looks great. But it’s so, so stiff. The handles are extremely inflexible. Loading the bag is extremely frustrating because the handles fight each other to stand up straight (which forces the bag’s opening to close). If I could return and get a refund I would. I had hoped using the bag would soften the handles but so far, not at all. I’ll be looking for another bag.

Beautiful craftsmanship but…

The straps are very stiff and the bag itself is so structured that it is harder to put things in and take things out. Also, no way to lock the duffel, since the zipper pulls don’t allow for that.All in all, it’s a beautiful bag for weekend trips. Car rides. Overnight stays. However, it is just shy of being practical for airplane travel (opinion of course). I took off one star for this reason.

Disappointing in person

I should have hawk eyed the listing photos more I guess because what I was expecting was not what I got. The white zipper is not noticeable in any of the photos but one and it really makes the bag look cheap and less sleek. The fact that the liner is striped is also not easy to discern in the listing photos. It's a weird circus stripe that also takes away from the overall look. As other reviews have said, the plastic hooks and faux leather are low quality. Will definitely be returning unfortunately.

Good size, holds a lot

Good size bag for general use and for a carry on bag on planes. Has a strap to attach to a suitcase and a shoulder strap. Liked the blue colour. There's a roomy separate section inside but would have liked a zip with this. External compartment good for keeping non valuable items handy.Good grip handles for normal carrying.It is roomy without feeling too big - a bonus when only 5 ft 2 ins.!

Perfect Travel Bag!

I bought this bag to replace an old travel bag that I loved. But I have to say that after using this bag on a few trips, I don’t miss my old travel bag at all! This bag has the perfect amount of space for a weekend trip and it’s super durable. It has a bottom compartment for shoes! Fits perfectly under the seat on an airplane! I have no complaints! I also really love the animal print design! I highly recommend this bag!

Practicality

I received a Novel Duffle as a kind gift to replace my branded sports duffle bag. Product looks good and well made, however, after a few uses, I have found the functionality of the bag is awkward for my requirements. For example, the bag is difficult to load/unload as it continually folds closed. Another major drawback is the zippered internal pocket is too small, so if you need to keep more than a few small things handy, you cannot find them without rummaging through the entire bag contents. Plus, compartment outside the bag does not have a closure, so is totally insecure.Yes the bag looks good and has eco credibility, however, there are much more practical options on the market.

Stylish and practical

I was in need of a duffle bag and was lucky enough to be given this bag to try out. To me;it is honestly such a perfect match of stylish and functionality. With the choice of a shoulder strap to clip on;or just carrying with the leather hand straps;you can choose just how you want to rock it. The bag itself is quite spacious;as i was able to fit a few outfits and towels in it for a recent trip. But my favourite feature by far has to be the shoe compartment on the side that gives a separate lining from main zipper. No more need to grab an extra plastic bag for your shoes. I would definitely recommend this bag to friends or just anyone looking for a nice sleek and practical duffle.

quality has gone down with herschel

I bought a few herschel bags about ten years ago and I love them. They are study and carry a lot of stuff. I wanted a new one but was very disappointed when this arrived. The material feels thinner and it just doesn't feel as sturdy as my others. Also, I bought the pink which was dumb because that'll get dirty the first time I shove it under the seat in front of me.
