Algae Wafers are recommended as a daily diet for Plecostomus and other algae eaters, including marine herbivores. Designed by Hikari, known for their high-quality and science-based tropical fish food, these algae wafers provide a perfect balance of premium-select ingredients. These algae wafers have been developed to promote proper growth and desirable form in most herbivorous species. The uniquely shaped discs sink rapidly and retain their shape, which allows less aggressive species access to its nutrition longer. However, make sure not to over-feed your aquarium inhabitants. Feed your fish no more than the amount they will consume within approximately 2 hours. For optimal results, feed your tropical fish late in the day or at night.

So far so good. My pleco loves it and went munching on it for awhile. Previously fed him a different brand and he hates it although he did eat it. Hopefully he doesn't play hockey puck with this one as well. The wafer sinks quite easily unlike the other brand I fed. Can't tell if it provides the nutrients to give my pleco shiny colors yet but will follow up some time later for updates.

I recently purchased this waterfall as an addition to my tortoise table. Having looked at the reviews and videos of the product functioning, I was impressed and very interested. When the product arrived, there were small fragments of the rock formation lose in the bottom of the box. I have then proceeded to assemble the water feature only to realise that more parts have broken off, clearly due to the resin being poorly made. The next issue then came down to the tube connecting to the pump not being long enough, meaning the water could not be pumped through to create the waterfall effect. Once this issue was resolved by attaching another piece of tubing, I then noticed that the water flows down and goes straight through a hole at the bottom of the pool (a hole I note ... MoreI recently purchased this waterfall as an addition to my tortoise table. All-in-all, considering Exo-Terra has such a good name, I am not impressed in the slightest and having spent £60 on this item is beyond a joke!

I have used hikari algae wafers for alot of years. The price had steadily increased over the years which made me look at some less expensive options. Unfortunately finding wafers that all the fish in my 40 tanks love isn't easy. When they don't like the cheaper wafers it just makes a mess in the tank. I seem to always find my way back to hikari, and the 2.2# gives a little better bang for the buck. I go through one of those bags pretty much every month. Guess I will just have to suck it up and pay for the good stuff-- Hikari. Very good!

False Advertising at it's finest! Pictured on site is 8.80 oz However in very small print 0.7 oz. is listed. I unfortunately learned the hard way because the print was small so I hovered over the picture and it was a 8.8oz bag, Perfect I thought because this was what I was looking to purchase. HOWEVER TO MY SURPRISE 8.8 OZ IS NOT WHAT I RECIEVED. I did get a refund after my complaint However, This should never have happened in the first place. BUYERS BEWARE, HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE BEFORE THEY MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID.
Copper sulfate was left out of the list of ingredients, but is list on the bag. Copper sulfate can be toxic to some species of snail.Copper in copper sulfate binds to proteins in fungi and algae. This damages the cells causing them to leak and die. In snails, copper disrupts the normal function of the skin cells and enzymes.
I keep a 75gal community tank. 6 Angels, 6 Bolivian ram,19 black neon,15 Glolight, 9 Julii and 3 emerald corries with Amano shrimp. 20 gal Cory (Albino) and blue tetra (Conchu) tank with yellow golden back neocadinia with 1 Gourami. 20 gal shrimp ( Sunkist neos) and fry tank. All but the fry get these wafers regularly and seem to enjoy them. We have raised Angelfish, Bolivian rams, Julii Cory and a ton of shrimp (wife's specialty) using these wafers as part of the varied diet. I went without and tried other wafers just once. I stick with these now and plan on keeping it that way. All tanks are well planted and have nerite snails. All eggs have come from the 75 gallon and I know it's overcrowded. Raising about 50 Julii now. 5 star for sure.
Hands down my fish prefer Hikari vegetable wafers to any other, and I prefer the prices here to every pets store! Won't regret this purchase and your fish will have beautiful coloration and live long lives due to the quality diet, plus less waste because better absorption of quality ingredients. A win-win for all! 5 stars for quality and value!
