Clothes airer great for apartments

The increased line space compared to my last clothes airer is fantastic, however with the thickness of the main section tubing (sliding inside to reduce size when not in use) it's not easy to use legs to hang things as the tube is quite thick. Being in an apartment means having to use a clothes airer for all drying needs & have snapped 5 pegs already with recent use.

Clothes airer not as expected

We have bought this airer previously from a different company and it has been excellent with lots of space for the clothes. In this case, however, the airer we received was flimsy with scratches and bits of plastic sticking out that could snag clothes. The Bunnings customer service team took some time to get back to me, and said I could bring the airer into the store to return, which was not a helpful solution since the airer is too bulky to hand carry.

It's pretty good. I like the vertically oriented wings, and the black finish. However, I wish that the base felt a little more solid - it feels a little unstable, especially if there's heavier items on one side.

Good quality, worth the money.

The hanger is very long, but very sturdy and the rails are well spaced to allow enough space between rows. I really like that you can extend or shorten depending on how much washing you have. The ability to fold up the hanger for storage is also great. I just wish that you could fold down or take off the fold out sides, as they get in the way when you don't need them.

Great product
18 February 2023

We love this. Might look flimsy but holds 2 large loads of washing. Doona and sheets stay off the ground. We use it on our deck. If I had the space I would get another one. Would totally recommend to friends and family.

Lopsided and made of flimsy cheap plastic
27 June 2022

The moment I unwrapped this I regretted spending $75. The drying space is great, but the plastic is cheap and flimsy and bowed as soon as I put heavy clothes like jeans and jackets on the lines. It's awkward to use because you can't fold the sides in. It's bulky. It says metal construction, but that's only the legs. I bought this brand because I didn't want to buy something cheap and nasty. Instead, I bought something expensive and nasty.

Rubbish had to throw away
8 August 2022

its cheaply made and after 2 months the legs are all bent from just normal use. Now if i put any clothes on it especially jeans etc it will just sag down, tried bending the legs back into place it just made it worse. going to throw it away soon very disappointed as its expensvie and thought buying from a great aussie brand like hills it would be a great product but its not.

Sturdy but…..
9 January 2022

Bought this yesterday …it is ok, not great but ok. This is the first Hills product I’ve bought and really I think it must have been designed by a man who has never hung out the washing. It says 27m of line, however the bars are fairly close together so to dry most items you have to use at least 2 or 3 bars. The wings are ok, they would be better if you could fold them down when not being used for the washing.

The modern Hills hoist?
19 October 2022

Very light and easy to manoeuvre but with flexible hanging options and more than enough room for a full load of our washing. Can even take sheets or extra king size doonah without touching the ground.Folds away quickly and easily too.

Unstable and warped
7 April 2022

I bought this a few weeks ago as it looked like a great clothes airer with plenty of hanging space. Upon opening it was unstable, warped and was missing a part that was shown on setting up instructions. Extremely dissatisfied with this pretty flimsy clothes airer.
