Appealing high-moisture stew

Like most Rx foods this is expensive, but it seems to work well for cats going through issues. We used this while treating a bad IBD flare with antibiotics. Cat eagerly eats it and is doing well! High moisture helps with hydration and also means empty cans are easy to rinse.

Nothing fixed it and never once did I doubt this food. After all it says it's for digestive health. Her condition deteriorated and I was so lost. I needed to look for answers elsewhere so I got in contact with a holistic vet who immediately realised it was this food. As soon as I took her off this food and gave plain chicken for a few days her problems disappeared. I know that this food made my cat ill. This is to warn other cat owners that this food advertises itself as top quality and good for your cat. IT IS NOT!!! There are terrible fillers and starches in it such as wheat, gluten, guar gum, soy bean oil. All these things play havoc with a cats body. I feel terrible for never suspecting the food. Looking back I feel it was obvious and I should have realised.

Our Bumble who has a super sensitive stomach cannot tolerate many foods plus he is finicky. I recently purchased this Hills Prescription Diet ID Chicken & Veg Stew and he just gobbles it excitedly. His tummy has not played up, he's put on weight and looks forward to his tin every night (I buy the smaller tin as perfect dinner amount) highly recommended by Bumble to all those cats with GI issues and who are fussy.

Excellent Wet Cat Food
9 December 2022

My vet put our cat on this prescription food because he was not eating, vomiting when he did, and had diarrhea. He liked it right from the start, especially with the probiotics that our vet gave me to sprinkled on top. His appetite is better than ever, and he has gained back the weight he lost when he was not eating. His fur also looks so much better and is so much softer now. We would definitely recommend this cat food.

Great for Ibs and is the only thing that has ever helped.
2 January 2022

I feed this twice weekly to go along with her normal I/d dry diet. She was diagnosed with Ibd and ibs at 16 weeks old. She is also a special needs kitty. I had tried different foods/medications, just nothing seemed to work. Finally I asked the vet about trying I/d since it was the only one we hadn't tried yet. Within just a week she and I were getting some relief finally. Eventually from being on I/d her bowl issues stopped within about 3 weeks altogether. I can not recommend this food enough and am so grateful that it exists. I buy both the wet and dry version of this food for her. The downside is that this food can be a bit expensive at times but if it helps her then I guess it's worth it. All I can tell you is this food works for her, it might not be the case for ... MoreI feed this twice weekly to go along with her normal I/d dry diet. Helped my kitten feel better
17 March 2022

My 6 month old kitten was recovering from giardia, and even though he was testing negative, he still had gas and diarrhea. Finally I asked our veterinarian if we could try this food after reading the reviews, and I am so glad I did! He loves it, (I will mention that he is not a pate guy), and he has had perfect poops and no more gas. His stool was formed after the first day! I am not sure if he will be on this forever, but, as far as getting him to normal after the giardia, it has been amazing, and I highly recommend it.

Hill's i/d
6 March 2022

Hill's Prescription Diet i/d wet cat food is the only my cat has been able to enjoy without issue. I am grateful for that. Emma seems to enjoy it as well. The pate is very moist which is a plus as well.It is unfortunate that the cans purchased and delivered from Petco often arrive dented and misshapen leaving me to wonder if the food in some of these cans is still safe to eat.It is unfortunate that the quality of the food and Hill's name might be judged on what happens after the product leaves their facility. Perhaps this issue can be addressed by Hill's and Petco..

Not a brand I typically buy
28 September 2021

Based on nutritional reviews of Hills food, it is not a brand I would buy unless I had to and I never recommend it to anyone. My cat needed a bland food for pancreatitis. He was allergic to royal canin. Since I had gotten a can from the vet, I knew he could eat this. He does like the food but it's not filling and I have to feed him more than normal. The consistency is not as dense as most pate foods. He's doing well and I am alternating his regular food back into his diet. I gave it 2 stars because my cat would eat it without any problems.

PetCo pharmacy supplies sick kitty with Hills I/D
28 October 2019

I have a very sad situation right now. I have two old cats who are siblings and they are both sick at the same time for diametrically opposite reasons. One has a gastrointestinal disorder and can barely keep anything in or down. The other cat can't move her bowels and might have a collapsed lung. Another younger cat has a heart murmur and could have a heart attack ... the Vet bills are astronomical and I'm on social security. I bought the cat with the gastrointestinal disorder prescription I/D. It is the only thing that she is allowed to eat and seems to be helping her immensely. The vet put her on an antibiotic possibly for the rest of her life and the Hill's I/D. The vet sells a lot of this and often runs out. I didn't know until recently that large pet stores even sold prescription food so I feel content knowing that I can order this food on line. Thanks to PetCo my kitty will have what she needs when she needs it and I don't have to worry.

This is a smooth pate not like the picture
22 September 2022

My cat has refused to eat it. I bought the chicken and veg stew Hills prescription ID for sensitive stomach and it went down a treat. I ordered this and it is not the same. Cat does not like the texture. Also the picture on the tin makes it look like chunks but its a smooth pate.
