I have my golden on this food because of course she has allergies, and it does seem to help with the itching some. I'm not sure if it completely stops it but I have been able to go further apart with her allergy shot than what I used. Yes this is not a cheap food by any means but if you can afford it and you have a dog that has bad allergies that affect the skin I highly recommend giving it a try.

I adopted my am staffy x at the age of 6. She smelled awful from overly oily skin, she would scratch in between her toes with her teeth, and lick rediculously around her genitals, belly, toes etc. I've been spending crazy amounts of money on vetinary medications. She started on apaqul, which lead to routine blood tests, and then moved her on to cytapoint injections to try and minimise cost. Along with that I had to try and hold her a steady weight to prevent higher cost. All of these things worked. Then I decided on my on account to study the food side... zoeys last injection is monthly and has been 2 months since her last. Her smell is still normal like any other dog, she itches but nothing near or close to what she would without medication. It seems very much ... MoreI adopted my am staffy x at the age of 6. Over 4 years I'm shocked not 1 vet has suggested this food over medication first! It is doing wonders so far and I feel very much less stress about my finances each month and worry less about my girls discomfort. 5*** on this product. Highly recommend.

Both of my dogs have allergies that need medication to manage. Since starting the Derm Complete they have needed their Cytopoint injections less frequently and have had far fewer flare ups than they did in the years before. It was not just a coincidental easier allergy year as many of my patients (I'm a vet) had severe allergies all last year and even lasting through the winter. I have been very pleased with this diet and recommend it for many of my allergy dog patients and generally get good feedback from their owners as well. I do not get any paybacks or extra benefits for recommending Hill's, nor do any other vets.

This isn't a bad food, only giving two stars because it didn't work for us. Our four year old pit mix has always had skin sensitivities. He had mange and multiple skin infections when we adopted him and it wasn't hard to see how quickly that could happen even after we managed to get him healthy. He has to be bathed at least once a week. More in summer because he sweats which makes all of his symptoms worse. If we wait too long to bath him he breaks out in angry, itchy, raised hives all over his belly and arm pits. (Picture attached is him on a relatively good day) In the winter, his skin is dry and itchy from the central air. In an effort to get him off of Apoquel after a particularly unmanageable episode, we tried this food. It's been about two months and it hasn't ... (Picture attached is him on a relatively good day) In the winter, his skin is dry and itchy from the central air. In an effort to get him off of Apoquel after a particularly unmanageable episode, we tried this food. It's been about two months and it hasn't made any noticeable difference in his skin. Maybe because his allergies aren't food related? I'm not sure but I guess we'll just stick with the baths and get a food that's not so ungodly expensive. Really wish this had worked. I would have paid that and more for something that kept him both comfortable and off medication :( Sorry for the novel, hope this helps.
We’ve had our dog on this food for about 4 weeks and the improvement has been amazing! I wish a vet had prescribed it early honestly because he’s always had skin issues but they always seem to reach for drugs before a better diet! Expensive food but worth it and obviously just the price of a good quality pet food on PetPost. Delivery took longer than expected but it was over the Easter holidays. Once it had been dispatched was here within 2 days.
Was advised to use this as my dog is suffering with recurrent ear infections. He seems to love it, and switched over to it with no stomach issues. It hasn't been a miracle cure for his ears, but they do seem a bit more comfortable for him and its only been a few weeks so far. This food doesn't score well on various rating website though, so I'm not keen to keep him on it if it doesn't seem to help significantly.
I tried many so called hypoallergenic products before finding this particular food. My poor dog would scratch and bite until his skin was raw. His eyes would weep and I would have to use drops. All those symptoms gone now.
My pitt mix has allergies to nearly every environmental factor you can test for. He was on apoquel, but the effectiveness of this medication has decreased over the last couple years. He has been on/off antibiotics and antifungals due to secondary infections. He has been stinky, flaky, and uncomfortable more often than not. He is now on Cytopoint and this new food. He started this food about 1 month ago. And his coat is shiny, his skin is not flaky And appears to be healing. He loves it so far and am looking forward to seeing how he does on it moving forward.
I had been working with my vet to get my dog Missy off of her allergy medicine. He recommended a few dog food brands and after thoroughly researching them, I felt that Derm Complete was the best fit! After 4 months, I think that it has decreased Missy's seasonal allergies greatly! She likes the food and that's a huge plus too! Highly recommend!
We have an English Staffy that experienced Colitis and skin allergies and converting to the Hill's Derm Complete, has resolved her issues. We have tried different brands and they have all compounded her issues, however the Hill's diet has been very effective. Highly recommended.
