The F70 is designed for optimum vision and comes with a clear HJ-32 Pinlock ready visor (Pinlock sold separately) with 95% UV protection and the HJ-V9 drop down internal sun visor is larger for more coverage for better vision in the sun. This also features HJC's patented One-Touch sun shield mechanism that deploys and retracts the sun visor quickly and easily. Best helmet by far in it's price range.

This truly is an incredible helmet for under $300. It is equal or better than a lot of $400 helmets I have tried. My giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is for three minor reasons as there are no big issues with this helmet. The only reason I have deducted a star for these minor reasons is, the correcting should be very simple and would add no or very little cost to production but, for whatever reason, was not done1. Many helmet brands are going away from the old Double D ring to a more user and glove friendly system. A simple and cheap upgrade for the customer that is getting common at this price point but, was not done. IMO.2. I love that HJC gives you two sizes of breath deflectors however, both deflectors are too far away from your nose to be truly effective. A slight and simple process modification to give the deflectors a more rearward cant would solve this very well. Unless of course you have a very large nose in which case these wold be good for you Cyrano de Bergerac.Like I said, these are not huge issues. However they are simple, easy and inexpensive manufacture improvements that could have been made but were skipped, I would imagine, for simplicity sake alone.

I would have to strongly disagree with your suggestion on the video. Ryan F9 makes great content but in this instance fails to mention the fact the helmet is DOT only. This would not typically be a big deal. However, this helmet and many of the other HJC carbon helmets where at one point advertised as both DOT and ECE when in fact they were DOT only. This issue has since been rectified on both Cycle Gear and Revzilla. I called HJC directly and spoke with a representative and they confirmed that there carbon line of helmets are in fact DOT only. The only reason they could give as to why they were DOT only was that it was to save weight. I like a light helmet as much as every other rider but not at the cost of saftey. Decent general use helmet
22 May 2023

Needed something for highway biased travel, and longer rides with changing lighting. My Scorpion Covert X is great in stop and go traffic, cool, breezy, but loud and not aerodynamic at any sort of speeds. The F70 Tino fit the budget and had orange accents to help make it more visible, not that anyone sees you anyway. It is notably more quiet, and aerodynamic. However I'd still want earplugs for speed. In town traffic it's considerably warmer than the Covert X, like dear God it's hot at 28° C.Also, small bugs can end up inside the venting system, especially if you ride without a screen. Finally, my head is in the middle of the medium size range, and I find it squishes my cheeks, yet also is a touch loose on my head.

Good fit, good style but unfortunate noise level.

I bought this helmet to commute 3 seasons with and have multiple functionalities on the weekends based on the overall shape, safety rating, and internal sun visor. I ride a Versys 650 for reference.Despite other reviews saying the lid felt narrow, I came from an 'oval' shaped HJC helmet but did not experience the same narrow fit - I measured 57cm and the medium is snug and secure. Good firm comfort on the internal padding and despite other helmets with eyeglasses ports causing a worse position for my glasses on my face inside the helmet, my glasses fit very well! Good vision, good ventilation, nice styling too :D.My biggest gripe thus far has been the noise. I know noise is subjective but even with an adjustable windscreen and a neutral riding position, the helmet is flat. out. loud (for me). I didn't think noise could bother me so much but it feels like my head is encompassed in a white noise machine with the monotonous droning noise caused by wind as low as 30mph. It really has taken away from my like for the helmet otherwise.Smaller and less annoying details would be #1. How difficult the visor is to unlatch with one hand while riding. #2. Although you might get a pinlock for the visor, keep in mind that glasses or the internal sun visor will still be foggy (not entirely specific to this helmet alone I suppose). and #3. The shell is rather large.. luckily it still fits inside my standard Versys side luggage panniers.I do like the helmets functionality and styling, but its going to take some getting used to the noise levels. After upgrading from my first helmet purchased for $150 5 years ago to this helmet, I was hoping for something a bit more refined. Again, this is just my experience and I would recommend trying it for yourself if that is even possible at a local gear shop.

Great Helmet - slightly noisy
27 April 2023

Just finished my first ride with my new F70 helmet and I wanted to list my pros and cons here. Keep in mind I am coming from a Sedici Strada II so this was a bit of an upgrade for me and definitely the most I've spent on a helmet. I rode for ~3 hours with mostly highway miles but some backroad twisties as well. Aesthetics influence purchases like these pretty heavily so, all in all, if you like the way it looks and are comfortable with the price - buy it! The safety, comfort, and design are all top notch.Pros:Lightweight and aerodynamic - it was fairly windy today and I would've been getting a bit of a neck workout in the Strada II, there was noticeably less wind drag in the F70The shield - love the position of tabs to open/close the lid they are low and left ... MoreJust finished my first ride with my new F70 helmet and I wanted to list my pros and cons here. These feel very high quality and are probably my favorite thing about this helmetComms- nice internal routing for speaker and microphone cablesColor! - I got the black/orange and it looks incredible, everything you'd expect when spending this much on a helmetCons:Wind noise - as others have stated there is a bit more wind noise than i am accustomed to but not by much and the overall feel of this helmet is so much better than my previous one that it doesn't bother me personally. However if you don't ride with music on or earplugs in and wind noise bothers you..I would probably look at a different helmet that is known to be more on the quiet side.Changing the visor - requires a phillips head screwdriver, not a big deal but the strada II doesn't require any tools to change out the visor so this is slightly annoyingChin strap - kind of uncomfortable compared to strada II but I wore it for 3 hours and was fine but definitely a noticeable difference in comfortComms- mounting my cardo was a bit difficult to get the clip to slide down on to the helmet probably would use the sticky mount if i had to go back and do it again. my 45mm speaker just barely fit in the recessed area designed for speakers, i'm not aware of a larger set but if you have something bigger it will not fit

Great helmet, but maybe not for commuting
31 March 2022

I bought this a few months ago and have been wearing on my daily ebike commute to work. Given that specific use, I'm not sure I made the right choice. I bought the F70 partially because of it's inclusion in Ryan F9's best helmets of the year video two years in a row, and in hindsight I maybe should have gone with something lighter, with goggles instead of a visor for city traffic, but I don't regret buying it. The sun visor works great, the giant viewport gives you a solid field of view, multiple size breath guard options out of the box, and it's got decent ventilation. The vent covers are massive and either you like the look of that or you don't, but they are super convenient to find through a gloved hand while riding. I was skeptical that the little extra triangle of fabric that velcros on around the chin curtain would have an effect but it does legitimately cut down airflow and keep the inside warmer, Two minor complaints: there's one spot on the gasket that doesn't seal properly unless I really slam down the visor (which wouldn't really be an issue except that I'm a commuter so the visor is up and down constantly) and it's a little heavy so do yourself a favour and save up the extra money for the F70 Carbon.

By far this is a good helmet and i completely love it. It is quiet in comparison with my SEDICI Parlare. It was my favorite one. But for now I'm giving it 3 stars because waiting for a resolution on a warranty claim. Two months after wearing this helmet for my daily commute, riding in temps of 105, 110 & 111 degrees the inside shock absorbing material on the right side started separating and protruding just where my right temple is, almost like it swelled up due to the heat. The protrusion is enough to make this helmet extremely uncomfortable to the point I can't wear it after 15 or 20 minutes of riding. I wanted to really love this helmet due to the awesome look of it. Other reviews are pretty on point about noise though. Helmet sometimes whistles a bit, but will definitely whistle a lot if your visor isn't clipped shut.No quick release for the visor had me riding home using my tinted shield when I wasn't able to undo the screws with the small screwdriver I bought with me to switch shields. It wanted to strip the screws.Visor is also a bit of a pain to push up and push down until it clips. They slide in even easier than my old FJ-17.-My old Scala Rider G9x attached to the helmet without much issue. So you don't need to buy the HJC Sena headset if you already have something.-Rode through heavy rain one evening and it kept my head dry. No leaks! If I could go back, I might buy something else for the money. If you're married to the style though, then this one is acceptable for the price. Hopefully HJC refines it over time.

Great helmet so far. It?s much lighter than my old helmet. Very quiet. But since the head fit pretty well and I knew it would break in a bit, I ordered some smaller cheek pads.
