HJC RPHA 71 Pinna Motorcycle Helmet (Pink)

The second generation of sports touring helmets to emerge from the stable of HJC and uses much of the technology and design from HJC's top-of-the-range helmets - the RPHA 71 offers HJC's Plus Integrated Matrix (PIM) shell construction of carbon fibre, aramid and carbon-glass hybrid fibre producing a solid superlight helmet. The shape of the shell itself was designed in HJC's wind tunnel to maximise its aerodynamic potential, and rear and side spoilers ensure stability at any speed. The RPHA 71 features air channels incorporated into the EPS liner; the vents have a simple slider mechanism allowing precise airflow control, and the top vent has been designed to work in both tucked and upright riding positions. For even more comfort, the helmet's anti-bacterial lining wicks moisture away and is removeable and washable. It comes with a clear Pinlock-ready HJ-40 visor with 99% UV protection that is anti-scratch coated and push and release visor lock, which is easy to open but secure. The visor also features a quick, simple and secure ratchet system. It also comes with the Pinlock 120 DKS468 insert. In addition, it has a detachable anti-fog insert, a height-adjustable 3-step internal sun visor, a 'glasses groove' for spectacle wearers, and the chin strap has a double D-ring retention. Available in a choice of colours and designs - this is the Pinna Pink colourway.

This helmet is nice to wear. It’s light weight and the vent system keeps your head nice and cool even in the hotter days. Good value for the money it cost.

My wife is a XXS, so it's hard to find a good helmet in her size. Even when a company makes a XXS, many suppliers don't offer it, so thank you Motocard.

Not an upgrade coming from the RPHA70!If, like me, you loved your RPHA70 that you're looking into buying this helmet as a replacement for it, don't do it...Instead of this being an upgrade is a redesign of the 70 to be more touring focused. Many of the new things are actually really cool, like the adjustable internal sun visor and the ventilation being very very efficient. What I find ridiculous is this trend of "prepared for intercoms" and all the TRASH that comes with it. I don't want their Sena and I'm forced to carry the unconfortable slot for the battery that I can feel in the back of my head, the flimsy side plastics that I hear rattle in the wind and that I've cut my finger on when not wearing gloves. And finally the clear increased bulkiness of the shell ... MoreNot an upgrade coming from the RPHA70!If, like me, you loved your RPHA70 that you're looking into buying this helmet as a replacement for it, don't do it...Instead of this being an upgrade is a redesign of the 70 to be more touring focused. And finally the clear increased bulkiness of the shell just to set up this preparation. It's terrible and I wish I knew how bad it was before I bought it.Last but not least I got a faulty one (sent back to the factory and I haven't seen it in a month now) where the visor mechanism does not latch properly. But when it does... oh gosh is it hard to open with gloves on... If all proper latching ones are like this (I heard they are) that's another annoying thing to deal with in an expensive gear piece.

Not like other HJC helmets
13 June 2024

I have owned 3 other HJC helmets in the past and currently. The fit on this helmet was unlike any of the other 3. there was s tremendous amount of pressure on my forehead immediately upon sliding the helmet on. There was limited cushioning, but it wasn't a matter of that, it just wasn't a fit for my head. It is listed as an intermediate oval, and all my other helmets fit that description including my Shoei. maybe I've been spoiled with that helmet overall, but this helmet was just a bad fit for me, despite being the correct size by measurement and the correct head shape.
