The shoes are perfectly comfortable and feel great walking in them. In terms of comfort and support I have no complaints. I am just disappointed in the quality. I have owned them for less than 6 months and have had to glue the tread back on in multiple places. For what they cost I expected a better build quality.

As a day hiker in southern Arizona these have met my needs and expectations so far. I do feel the construction is good with quality materials and I expect to have these for a while. People should know these are by design higher off the ground and may be problematic for someone prone to rolling ankles, the flip side of that is they are very well cushioned to protect your feet against more prominent rocky terrain while remaining responsive. The rocking motion of the shoe does feel propulsive when cruising at a consistent pace. I do feel that they took one hike to break in. I think my only small critic would be that I feel the toes are slightly under protected especially in my very rocky trail environment compared to my last day hiker shoe. But, overall I think these ... MoreAs a day hiker in southern Arizona these have met my needs and expectations so far. I'm very pleased with this purchase so far and would recommend

I've been wearing Hoka's for a couple of years now since I had a heel injury, and they've been great. I wanted something with a more aggressive tread for a trip in a couple of months. Unfortunately, the Vibram sole on these was so much more firm than the regular Hoka sole that it hurt my feet to wear for more than 10 minutes. I tried various insoles, but nothing worked. I ended up having to go to a shoe store on vacation and get a different pair (still Hokas) and donated these Anacapas to a men's shelter. Expensive mistake, will only go to shoe stores in the future and not order online.

The first pair were too small so I ordered a half-size higher. My right shoe is fine but the left one has several problems. My toes are cramped, the shoe bends funny, pressing down on the top of my foot, and my left foot tends to ride toward the inside, not staying centered in the shoe. Going downhill was most uncomfortable. Also the outside portion rubs on my ankle. Not sure if I should try again for a third time, may just get Speedgoats. Disappointed.
General wear! Great shoe as nearly always in the 10-12 pairs I owned. This particular shoe is not sized correctly! See below. Also have another pair that I wore 4-5 times and they developed a squeak when I walk. Can't find a reason but can't wear then. They are expensive shelf shoes!!!Below is info on the Anacada's
I chose the Anacapa Breeze Low, and wear them all day as my go-to shoe. Light and cushiony, comfortable and attractive. At 81, I chose a tan, conservative color, despite hearing I'm a "cool grandfather," and could "go for something more racy." Actually, I'm tempted! Very pleased with my choice.
I just received these yesterday and am just going to wear them around the house for a week or so to evaluate them. Something these shoes have that I have never seen before is a v shaped piece of material on the upper heel that makes the shoe super easy to put on. Almost like a built in shoe horn. I am an older man and bending down to put shoes on can be difficult in the mornings, but not with these. My first impressions of this shoe is very positive. They fit well and have ample room in the toe box. One con so far is that I would like more cushion in the heel area. After wearing them in the house for a week or two I may edit this post and add more info.
Just ordered these and they are very comfortable. I am transitioning from a pair of Speedgoat 5 and these feel more plush, softer cushion which bodes well with a fused great toe on my left foot.As far as sizing that some have commented on, if you follow some of the information on the shoes (online), you will find that ordering a 1/2 size larger you will get a perfect fit. This generally applies to all Hoka shoes as this is my fourth (4th) pair of Hoka I have purchased. If worse comes to worse......go to REI or another Hoka shoe seller and try the shoes one before you purchase!
Ordered a half size lower than my Biondi's based on other comments and shoes fit well. Very, very comfortable. Like walking on pillows. These will be my go-to for non-rocky trails. However, these are probably not the best choice for very rocky trails since you sacrifice the feel of the trail because of the cushion plus there is a little bit of give in the sole when stepping on pointed rocks. If you are on a non-technical trail where a low rise shoe will serve your purposes, you won't find a more comfortable hiking shoe than these.
These are way too small. Giving 5 stars for now because they seem like a great shoe otherwise. I don't know why Hoka say these are true to size. I've been buying 9.5 size shoes for 35 years and these are not even close. My big toe hits the front of the shoe,I wish my REI had these in stock so I could try them on, avoiding this problem. Returning them and will try again.
