I tried several big name brands as a confort comparison. These boots won the comfort test so I purchased them. I work construction and after five years of hard walking job sites these boots held up extremely well. They are just starting to show some dry rot on the rubber toe protector. The lugs held up well but have worrn down and need to be replaced. I have been wearing the speedgoat for 6-7!years and these boots are as comfortable as the goat.Wearing these boots 5 days a week for five years, I can testify to the comfort, durability, and value. If you are looking for a comfortable boot, (not steel toed), I highly recommend these boots.Fit is true to size.

As an avid hiker, I absolutely fell in love with these boots. I have tried so many others and nothing compares to the comfort and fit of these. I've hiked through rain, across rivers, mud, etc and they perform well in all weather and my feet were dry. Lots of traction for rough terrain. I have plantar fasciitis and these gave me no issues and pain after 15 miles of hiking in 24 hours. Cannot recommend these enough. Considering buying another pair as a backup!

The Good - I've had toe pain with other hiking boots - tried wide sizes, various taping methods, etc without relief. Since I don't have the problem with running shoes, I figured it made sense to try a hiking boot that's flexible and padded like a running shoe. The Kaha solved my problem. No pain (and no need for taping). Did 75 miles on the Camino de Santiago and many other hikes (with elev gain/loss) without any issue. The Bad - with as much padding as this shoe has it's surprising that there is none at the rear/side of the shoe and behind the heel - just fabric separating the plastic shoe from your foot, and stitches connecting the fabric immediately behind the heel. Quickly got blisters on the rear side of my foot and on my heel. Most other shoes I've owned had padding in these spots (although were problematic for other reasons as described above). Note Gore-Tex did not hold up to multiple days of rain on the Camino - too easy for moisture to invade shoe.

These shoes won't be worn so much in the summer. I find them well made, but heavy and hot. They do fit a bit small, 100% of my other shoes are 10.5 and these are size 11. I suspect they will break in and fit nicely. They do "look cool" and are expensive retail but purchased on sale the price is fair. Found I can step in and out of them without unlacing. There needs to be a slot to run laces through to keep the tongue straight.
I was diagnosed with planters fasciitis and tried many techniques to resolve the issue. I heard from several people that the Hoka shoes would help. So after several very expensive failed attempts to resolve the issue. I went to the store and bought my first pair of Hoka shoes. From my very first pair that January 4 years ago Hoka has become my only footwear. I like the pain-free lifestyle that the Hoka shots have given me. I have helped several friends and family move into the Hoka footwear. is it possible to get the shoes in different width?
Took these out for an 80-mile backpacking trip in South America and they performed on all terrain (water crossings, snow, slippery rocks, gravel, grass, etc.)The ability to loosen or tighten around the lower ankle is wonderful, to account for different levels of support and for swelling feet.Like other reviewers have said, you may need to watch out for hot spots in the heels as they are breaking in, but nothing a little moleskin can't help. They run smaller than the Anacapas, FYI. I'm between a 6.5 and 7 and the 6.5 was perfect, whereas I wear a 7 in the Anacapa.Very comfortable fit overall and lightweight enough to put on miles.I even sprinted through LAX with these on a short international layover and they felt great.
I really wanted to like these. Theoretically the all gender sizing is wider than a regular women's width. Unfortunately in practice it wasn't wide enough.Hoka has stopped making wide widths for most styles and in Gore-Tex. So disappointing as the wide women's were perfect for me. At 7.5 size my feet are too small to fit in a regular men's to try and see if they would fit. The All Gender sizes were recommended to me.
The size runs too big, and the color of the photo is way off from reality that made me wonder if they sent the wrong item. There are other photos in google that was close to the reality and if you compare them, you can totally see that they're different color. I feel like Hoka is being sneaky that they used a better color photo to attract customers, but actually sent out another one and try to convince you that they're the same but caused by different screens.
These boots look great and seem well built, but unfortunately they were too narrow for me. My feet are somewhat wide at the toes, but wide widths are often way too wide for me at the heels. So I generally tend to look for shoes with a wider toe-box. These are not it...When I first put them on, they seemed great, but after hiking for a few hours, the sides of my feet and my pinky toes were sore...The return could not be easier though. I really appreciate Hoka letting us to wear the shoes outside to really try them out.
I love my Hoka tennis shoes so much, as an avid hiker/backpacker I decided to give these boots a try. I wore these boots on two long backpacking trips and a few hikes. The hikes all took place in Indiana on relatively well maintained dirt trails. I also wore these on a 6 day backpacking trip in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico and then on a 60ish mile trek doing a section of the John Muir Trail. By the time I started my JMT trek I had about 80ish miles on them and the tread was already not holding up to what I expected. By the end of my JMT trek the tread was literally peeling off in pieces. For the price I expected the shoes to hold up better. Overall these boots are extremely comfortable, have amazing waterproofing, but the quality is just not there. I think these would hold up just fine if you are using these exclusively on easy to moderate trails, however if you plan on doing some higher caliber backpacking/hiking trips I would not recommend these at all. There are plenty of other boots out there for a fraction of the price that will actually hold up.
