This shoe is incredible. Some other reviews said the color was off, but if you imagine what color "dune" would be, these are pretty spot on. I normally wear 11.5-12, and these are the first 11.5 that are noticeably too big. These shoes are noticeably large, and not just for my feet. They look big compared to me and I'm not a small person. I'm definitely going to return these and get an 11, but I have a feeling these shoes will be perfect once I get the right size. Plus these are Gore-Tex, so the material will last much longer than most shoes.

I work in moble healthcare and walk a lot in the elements. I walk a few miles a day. I thought this would be a good shoe it seem rugged enough for my day to wear. However the inside heel has hole worn into it, the sole is completely worn flat on the ball, and stitching on the top eyelet is coming out. I ordered and received them in May. Only 4.5 months. I had high hopes for there durability but they really feel short. They are very comfortable I will give them that but for the price point I really expected a higher quality shoe.

I was so excited for these because of how much I loved the style. Hoka's have been a favorite for me comfort wise, but I've never been a fan of all the bright colors, preferring a more simple/neutral color palette. So I was thrilled when I saw this style pop up when looking for new trail shoes. I ordered my usual 8s (in Clifton's) but had to exchange for an 8.5. Unfortunately, the fit was still off - I had to tie the laces so tight (and use the extra hole at the ankle) to keep my heel from slipping out. But by tightening them so much, the area around the front of my ankle rubbed so painfully it was all I could think about on my walk.I would agree with other reviewers that these definitely didn't feel as plush as the Clifton's, but would have kept them if it weren't ... MoreI was so excited for these because of how much I loved the style. I am keeping the mid-height version of these in mind for when I replace my hiking boots because I love the colors so much. Please bring these color schemes/simplistic designs to your regular running shoes!
I bought these for rucking. I have purchased and currently own many other pairs of Hokas. These are the bet I have ever worn. Out of the box comfort was amazing. Support and comfort are perfect. With a closet full of shoes, I wear them everyday. Trying to figure out if I can wear them on the golf course. Great job Hoka!!
I wore a different brand of hiking boot (half the price) on one foot and the KAHA on the other. Holy cow. The boot was lightweight, very comfy, and snug in the right places. The hoka on the other hand was just off in every way. It was a heavy shoe, bulky, has a random heel strap?, was tight in the foot but loose in the heel so it would slide even when everything else was snug. Not sure how this design passed - it looks cool but doesn't fit well at all.I just couldn't justify paying this much for a shoe when I could get a Teva hiking boot for half the cost and works so much better. Darn it! I wanted the Hokas to work!!
I recently bought this shoe in dark blue. I thought the fit was good, but the shoe was a little odd looking for my taste. I struggle to find the right shoe as I have worn out knees and after testing this shoe in the house my knees hurt....does not make it a bad shoe, but maybe not right for me. In terms of looks the tongue is very wide and the sides cut a bit lower....not sure of the purpose of that. Also the sides of the heel are cut low...why would you want this in a hiking shoe?
Comfortable out of the box. Haven't worn them hiking yet but extremely comfortable and warm out of the box. I have fairly wide feet and they have plenty of room in the toe box. They are light enough that I forget I have them on and end up wearing them all day. I did size up half a size, but I always do that for sneakers and athletic footwear. My regular shoe size is 8, but I get 8.5 in sneakers. I ordered the other hikers (the more expensive unisex ones for 220) but returned them for these. Much better fit for women!
I love Hokas but these really aren't working for me. I have plantar fasciitis and have had two pairs of Cliftons that I've loved and give me great relief. I bought these because I wanted something with Gore-Tex and these are described as being plush. I do not find them plush at all and I feel almost no cushion whatsoever compared to the Cliftons. I had hoped I would get used to them after a few wears, but in hindsight I wish I had returned them before the 30 day window because I find my feet hurting more after wearing them. Still giving 3 stars because the design is really nice, just not for me.
Was really excited about this shoe, but as other have noted, the design is just a little bit off. The heel area is weirdly roomy -- in order for my heel not to slip, I have to tie the laces so tight that it painfully squeezes my ankle and top of my foot. This is not an issue with other Hokas I own. Until they redesign this, I would not recommend. Will be returning.
