First Hoka product and I love it!!

Since this is my first Hoka shoe, my review might not be good for long time users but I love this shoe. I tried on a bunch of this brand and other hiking boot/shoes and Hokas were the best. Other brands were good but with the cushion, style, waterproof, and durability of these they seemed like the best option for me. I've put about 20 miles of hiking through mud, water and other lots of rocks and trees and these are great. I was worried about some other models having thin fabric around the toe box but these have a more durable material that I don't worry another tearing when going over rocks and trees. The only thing to note: don't tie them super tight the first time you wear them. Do it a little loose and go from there on how tight you want to wear them. True to size would've worked but I was recommended at a running store to go half size up for comfort while going downhill so my feet don't jam into the front of the shoe and that was a good recommendation.

Good but could be better.

First off. These are super comfortable. I wear these for work and I on my feet all day. On concrete and in a forest setting. The soles are a lot more substantial and can tell they are gonna work well for me. But these could be improved on. First off. They need to go with a flat or thicker style lace. The near wire strings on the shoe hurt like crazy when you try to tighten them. If the tongue piece had more padding the laces could work. But between the thin tongue and the lace, it's a bit torturous locking into these first thing. Second. Not sure if the weight would be significantly increased. Overall a good shoe which I will more than likely order again. These are a great combination of lightweight and durability. Some improvements in the areas mentioned and these a five star product!!

I wear these shoes for work. I work in the meat dept and they're definitely waterproof, non slip and super comfy. I was in need of a new pair but didn’t want to pay the Hoka price. When I 1st found Ruze website & the price for the shoes I thought maybe it was a scam. I did some digging and to my surprise Ruze is legit. I ordered the shoes and noticed it said "grade b" hmmm why? My shoes get delivered (which was pretty fast) with no box. Not a big deal I throw shoe boxes away. I'm looking and all I can see is a bit of glue on the heel of the shoe that's not very noticeable. No big deal, like I said I work in the meat dept at a local grocery store.I will definitely buy these shoes again from Ruze as long as they have my size.

For a living, I work industrial maintenance as an Electrical Technician. Sure, they're made for hiking. But I proved that they're good for more than just that. These boots have saved my feet and back, let me explain. I average a walking distance of about 10 miles a day at work on hard concrete floors. I tried different cowboy and tie up boots ranging from Ariat's, Irish Setters, Merrel's, etc. Every pair of boots I've tried have killed my feet. Nobody makes a good cushiony sole like Hoka. These boots are durable, I have had 0 tears or rips on them, and the seams have not started to come apart (waterproof is also a plus). These boots are balanced, lightweight and my foot fits the sole perfectly. Ever since I've started wearing them, all of my pain has gone away. ... MoreFor a living, I work industrial maintenance as an Electrical Technician. Sure, they're made for hiking. Just what the doctor (podiatrist) ordered
14 June 2023

The bone at the outside bottom of my right foot just before the ankle became inflamed, and all work boots I normally wear to do yard and other work just made the issue worse. My podiatrist told me that I had to stop wearing my usual boots for at least six months to allow the inflammation to subside. She recommended shoes/boots with soft uppers for the time being. I have owned Hoka running shoes for years, but never its boots. I ordered this boot one-half size larger than my usual size and replaced the stock insole with a custom orthodic. I have worn these boots for all outdoor activity for about three weeks now and I am amazed how comfortable they are. And though not wide, there is absolutely no pressure from the uppers on the offending bone. Being on sale may be suggestive that Hoka is discontinuing this model, so I purchased two more pairs in different colors just in case. These boots should easily last me until my foot completely heals, and well beyond. I might even hike in them.

Meh
14 April 2023

I have had a pair of Hoka hikers (M TOR mid Summits) for many years. With the exception of my Hoka running shoes, they are the most comfortable things I can put on my feet.Well, after many years of hard use, I finally had to retire them. I of course ordered a new pair of Hokas to replace them- Kaha GTXs. First thing I noticed when I received them is that they weren't nearly as comfortable as my old boots, and they also had a significantly different fit- much taller foot box, leaving more room above my instep at the expense of that great 'cradling' feeling of my old boots. Well, I figured I'd wear them for a while and they'd eventually come around. After a couple of months, I finally decided that I really missed the comfort of my old boots and so decided to buy a ... MoreI have had a pair of Hoka hikers (M TOR mid Summits) for many years. So I called Hoka's customer service line to ask for a recommendation based on the model of my original boots. The very delightful rep recommended that the Anacapa mid GTX would probably be the closest thing in the current line, so I ordered a pair.Unfortunately, same result. While they're decent boots, the fit and feel is very much like the Anacapas and still nothing like my good old pair. Fortunately, this time the CS rep told me about the 30-day guarantee, so back they went.

Not Durable
6 May 2023

I'm a big fan of my Hoka shoes for walking and normal motion, so I thought I'd give these a try for hiking. I do wilderness search & rescue and often carry a pack in excess of 50 pounds, so the additional surface area and cushioning was also appealing. Overall, I really enjoyed them for the first few uses. I eventually found the need for inserts to give some more support, but even with those, I find my feet over-pronating since the sole is a little too cushiony. One other big drawback I've noticed is that although the waterproofing on the exterior is great, they have absolutely zero traction when they get even slightly wet (I still have the hip injury to prove it). Last, overall, I'm very disappointed in the durability. As much as I enjoyed them for the first couple uses, I think for the price point, I'm going to look at something else.

These run a little larger than previous generations of the Gore-Tex GTX. I put better footbeds inside for plantarfascitus whic makes them feel a size smaller. if you like the price and can live with a slightly sloppy fit they are a good deal. I asked if I could return for a size smaller and no reply? That seems a little like shoddy shopkeeping brcause they can get away with it. I imagine some guy buying a palettload of rejects from some hong kong warehouse? Oh well. You get what you pay for I guess.

Very Comfortable and Durable.

I am the owner/operator of Olympus Kennels in Paragould, Arkansas. I walk miles every day training dogs as well as cleaning out the kennels. My shoes get wet several times a day. I only get about 2 to 3 months out of Salamon's or Keen's, they simply come apart. These Hoka's have held up by far the best of any shoe I have ever worn at the kennel. They are comfortable, have good traction, and keep my feet dry. I am on my second pair now and have worn them both during winter and summer months. The only negative is the shoestring eyelets, they have very aggressive stippling on the inside to hold the shoestrings in place, but they chew the shoestrings up and cause them to come apart much too soon.
