I have a broad foot so went a half size up. Perfect. They kept my feet warm and dry and blister free. Amazing grip and especially kind on my legs and ankles. Well worth the money. No need to break these shoes in either they work straight out the box. 20+ miles on them with water and climbs and the shoes were brilliant. Despite looking awful after the walk they cleaned up like new again.

I'll start this buy saying I love my hokas. I've had my Anacapa Mid GTX Boot in desert sun for 3 years, and i've never had any problems. I don't know if it is just the gender neutral one or the year it was manufactured, but there is something seriously OFF about this pair. The hard wear from the outer lacings dig into your inner and outer ankle- even with cushion between thr shoe. I wore one time for my 3 hour hike and it was almost unbearable- I came home with 4 blisters. I tried retying the laces in different places, but they still dig in regardless. Please fix the cushioning and placement on these!!!

Good Shoe but color a lot different than picture

The boot was comfortable but the color was a lot lighter than pictured. Was not going to work with my work uniform. Wish Hoka offered a solid coyote brown color.

Great boots!
2 January 2022

I’ve been hiking in these for about six months, and put roughly 400 miles onto them. They’re comfortable, sturdy, waterproof in small streams, and provide excellent footing for canyon trails in the desert southwest AND on Arizona’s sky islands. Just ordered a second pair to break in for a planned West Highland Way trip next summer!

Hoka dropped the ball on this one!
1 July 2023

I own a dozen pairs of HOKA shoes and boots but I sent these back. This was a first for me to return something to HOKA. The fit and color were not good and the website did not display these boots properly. I love HOKA products and they have saved my feet and back! Everybody falls down once in a while.

Mostly comfortable & look great, but a tad bulky/cumbersome
21 March 2023

I normally wear a size 12.5 in other brands but had to size up to 13. They look and feel very bulky on my feet despite being snug to my toes. I think it's all the extra cushion that Hokas have. I still like them and find them quite comfortable. I will warn you tho, you must wear long socks otherwise the tongue cause's uncomfortable rubbing. Also, I wish there were eyelets for the shoestring up the whole boot instead of hooks at the top. I have to resting the hooks every time I put them on.

Narrow fit
10 December 2021

I purchased these because I loved the feel of the Cliftons when trail walking and wanted to try them as a hiking boot. I love them but they are far too narrow for me. I don't generally have feet considered wide but there was not enough room to be comfortable in the toe box area.

Not represented well online or comfortable - skip these
30 May 2023

I was super excited for these but when they arrived I was disappointed by 1. How uncomfortable they are (strange for HOKAs) and how they 2. Do not match the image online in color at all. (Get a better photographer or edit the images folks). They look to be a soft taupe brownish color but showed up borderline pink / salmon / cream family in coloring.I'll be returning these and not ordering online again. Apparently Hoka is not across the board comfy and the online images are not accurate so I'll have to go in person only to purchase things.

Terrible Design
4 November 2023

Purchased the Anacapa Mid GTX after getting a pair of the Anapaca Breeze Mid and loved them. These are NOT the same. Wore once on a short 6 mile hike and have bone bruises on both inner ankles. The first boot lace hook is place right at the ankle bone so the hard plastic of the hook digs in with every step. Looked at other Hoka GTX boots and most have a similar design, unfortunately looking at other boots now too.
