I walk on concrete and hard floors all day and it started taking a toll on my legs and I was having knee pain as well. Iāve seen people in the same business wearing Hokaās so I decided to give them a try. One thing I really appreciate at REI is the knowledge that the employees have especially in shoes. I would have bought something completely wrong for my needs anywhere else.I canāt believe how much my legs and body in general feel so much better. People ask me everyday how I like them and my answer is āItās like walking on clouds and marshmallowsāI ordered my shoes through REI for the color I wanted and Iāve told everyone to shop at REI for shoes so you donāt buy something completely wrong for your goals.I consider these part of my work equipment and overall ...Ā MoreI walk on concrete and hard floors all day and it started taking a toll on my legs and I was having knee pain as well. I have been ordering Hoka Bondi's from you online for a few years now. Originally fit at the store for a 9.5, the last pair I ordered that way was rubbing a few spots on my left foot and encouraging an ingrown toe nail to get started on that foot. So, I brought them into the store in Portland, ME and explained my discomfort. The pleasant person who assisted me felt the tips of my toes and said that, on the left, I was right near the end of the shoe and suggested I now needed a 10. I appreciated that I may have, due to age, spread my feet a bit and took the 10 home. However, it seems that my feet are moving around too much in the shoes now. Could my feet have gotten narrower? Should I have been measured again to be sure? I'll keep this pair another couple of weeks to ...Ā MoreI have been ordering Hoka Bondi's from you online for a few years now. I'll keep this pair another couple of weeks to see if things improve (I fast walk 5 - 7 miles a day) but am wondering if the Model 8 was constructed differently and I should have tried on other brands or a narrower Hoka. Or?? Hopefully, things will get better as they break in more.

Comfort is very important to me in my profession as a hospital pharmacist. So finding the right sneakers for me is a must especially since I have wide feet. At work Hokaās is one of the top sneakers I see people at my job wear. It was even recommended to me by one of my colleagues at work to try. I went to a Dicks Sporting Goods near me to try them on. The employee working there recommended I try on the Bondi 8 since I need it for my job. When I tried them on, let me just tell you they are COMFORTABLE. The only critique is they are on the pricey end if you are on a budget but itās worth the money, especially in the line of work Iām in. Lastly I would have given this review 5 stars but because of the small stain on one of the pairs of Hokaās I bought, I reduced the ...Ā MoreComfort is very important to me in my profession as a hospital pharmacist. I just purchased these tennis shoes in which I was purchasing new (179 dollars). Received them and they were definitely used tennis shoes. When receiving the box the outside of the box was busted and the paper within the inside was all jumbled up. I thought it was poor shipping but when I looked at the shoes the tread was wore and brown on the bottom. There was also the left over paper coverings left in the box where someone has took them off. But to beat it all the bottom of the box had grass shavings in it. I am guessing someone wore them outside and didnt bother to clean them off. This is not a problem with the shoe but a poor customer service experience with Dicks sporting goods.
The HOKA Bondi's were my first experience with HOKAs. They definitely take some getting use to- the heel is significantly chunkier/ taller than previous shoes that I have run in. I have arthritis in my toes and I found the the stability of the shoe itself was perfect for the level of support I needed. This shoe has the perfect mix of cushion and stability. The shoe is pretty resident to water. I do a lot of winter running and very rarely have wet feet.I have had some rubbing on the inner arch of my right foot but I chalk that down to my gait pattern and my feet being slightly two different sizes.Stylistically, these shoes are next to none! The vibrant colors are a running show stopper.
I have the Bondi 7ās in a 7.5 and love them. I ordered the Bondi 8 in the same size (7.5) and they felt too small. The Bondi 8ās have a wider sole but feel like they are narrower in the shoe part. I ordered size 8 and size 8 wide. I think the 8 wide is probably too wide. The position of the laces are also different. My foot was going numb so I kept loosening the laces, finally pulled the laces out of the last 2 holes closest to the ankle and that seems to have helped. I ordered the white- the laces on this shoe are a light blue (Iām ok with that). They are clunky looking but very comfortable. Iāve had to make some adjustments and figure out sizing on the Bondi 8 but am hopeful that I will still like them⦠loved the Bondi 7ās!
I hestitated for years on buying Hokas, mostly because of how bulky looking they are - but I finally gave in and purchased a pair as I walk a ton and really needed shoes that would protect my feet especially the balls of my feet. I tried Nike, Brooks, New Balance, and On Cloud and still nothing was really quite right until I tried Hoka Bondi 8! OMG they are like walking on actual clouds almost like you're floating. Are they pricey? Yes, but so worth it. I've wasted a lot of money on medicore shoes. I would 100% recommend these to anyone seeking extra comfort in their running/walking shoes or for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet! I'm a happy, happy customer!
During my recent exam and consultation with my Podiatrist, she shared that many of her patients were loving the support and experience of wearing HOKA athletic shoes. She counseled that I should consider trying HOKA, prior to purchasing custom orthotics (>$800; ouch!). I originally thought supportive shoes would be of the clunky, old-fashioned ilk. Imagine my surprise when I saw how cute they were in Dickās Sporting Goods, and when my 30-something Daughter explained how āinā they are! Cuteness aside, I bought the Bondi 8s (in white) on the spot at Dickās, and WOW! They are the most comfortable shoes Iāve ever worn!!! My feet feel so great in them, that I donāt feel the need to purchase the expensive orthotics at this point, either. I will def be a HOKA girl for life! š
Happy that I tried these and that my Mother in Law is now wearing my pair on the regular for 1-1.5miles walking twice a week. For that, Iāll give an extra star. Not purchasing again. I did purchase two pairs of these thinking they were fabulous per all the reviews. In high hopes, my feet (mids) ached so badly, small toes had blisters after a long walk (6-7miles, and no I wasnāt even running) and my heel slipped around. I gave these about 1.5months doing various activities of athleisure like walking, casual biking, running errands at the library and farmers market. I even took these to New Zealand but alas they really hurt my feet & started to peel / shread, so in the recycling bin one pair went and the other unworn went to my MIL in hopes I wouldnāt need to throw ...Ā MoreHappy that I tried these and that my Mother in Law is now wearing my pair on the regular for 1-1.5miles walking twice a week. I do suggest trying them on first with the socks you intend to wear and see how they feel and fit your foot. As the other reviewers said, I really wanted to like theseāthe product spec of the cushion promise and quality guarantee really drew me in!
I can't say enough about the Hoka Bondi 8 sneakers. This is my 3rd pair and my husband's 3rd as well. They are comfortable- I wear them not only for exercising but as my travel sneakers. I have had no problem with fatigue even after wearing them eight hours. The toe box is a little wider, allowing your toes to move. Before my first pair, I was having regular shots because of pain in my feet, so far, no more pain, no walking sticks, etc. I have recommended them to many friends at my gym and they all agree- they are the most comfortable sneakers-cushion and support. I wore a 7.5 in the Bondi 7s but with the additional cushioning, My other two pairs are a Bondi 8 regular width.
