Good service all around. Questions answered…shipped quickly.Out of at least 50 pr. of athletic shoes purchased for walking, running, doing errands, these are BY FAR the best walking shoe EVER. I feel like I’m walking on a cloud. Light & bouncy, AND I don’t get tripped up from the front toe sticking on carpets as with so many other athletic shoes which seem designed to stop your exercise so you can heal from muscle pulls when tripping! I keep these for in-house wear only. Can wear all day from 1st day on. Will buy another pr. in a darker color for outdoors. Then another, etc. Read very helpful input from reviewers before deciding to try the Solimar. It says for running but reviews convinced me these were also for my needs. Took a chance as not inexpensive. SO worth ... MoreGood service all around. Also, need a med in toe box but have a narrow heel. I want to thank all reviewers. You are AWESOME SALES PEOPLE! Got a US 8B (EU 40). PERFECT!

I tried on so many shoes and couldn't find one that would accommodate the issues with my feet. Because of them, I exercise strictly indoors. I was having difficulty finding a shoe that had the right inside cushioning and a bottom that would allow me to pivot and do the other steps in my routine. If the shoe had one, it didn't have the other. A friend told me about Hokas, and I was so pleased to see that there was an option for indoor training that had some cushioning. I do wish there was a bit more padding, but these are working for me. I really like the style as well, they are lightweight, and the quality is there. Please keep making a shoe for indoor training and exercise that has cushioning.

I love my Hoka Bondi 8 shoes! My all over body pain from standing and working in a warehouse with cement floors has been relieved!!!! I wear them everyday and I plsn to purchase other colors! May young adult daughter also purchased a pair for work and plan to purchase other colors for everyday use! Others see how I am bouncing around and asked what am I doing? Now a host of coworkers, friends & family has purchased or in the process of purchasing a pair of Hoka shoes! I wear Redi-thotics insoles in my Hoka's for total support! Hols's are the best shoes ever to relieve pressure & pain from one's body! I can go so many places all day without my body & feet hurting!!! Thank you Hoka

I spent hours and hours comparing different shoes for my first half marathon, and eventually gave up and ordered these on the fly. I couldn't be more impressed by their springiness, all day comfort and style. Not huge like other hokas, can be worn with casual wear, but absolutely lift you up and propel you forward on runs. I just finished my first ultramarathon (50K) and bought my second pair of these a week before race day. I wore them 3 times (because I knew they wouldn't give me blisters) before race day and ended the race with only one blister, which is to be expected when running that distance. I can't say enough good things about these, I hope they never change!
Let me start by saying I am not in great shape. I have been working out 1-2 maaaybe 3 times a week for about 2 months. That includes some strength training and walking about 2.5 miles on a track with a friend. The first walk I went on in these shoes was incredible. I usually have shooting pain in the bottoms of my feet, in my knees and sometimes my hips. This time the pain has been reduced by about 90%. By the end of the first walk I was feeling a little tired. The third walk I went on was on a treadmill and SOMEHOW I was able to run a mile straight without stopping. That may not be a big deal to the career runners here, but I've only been able to do that one other time in my life. Again, it may be attributed to a combination of things, but my overwhelming feeling is that these shoes have changed my life.
I previously bought the Hoka Transport in burgundy and in ream color. I loved them so much that I decided to give it a try to a different model instead of getting the same model in different colors. This time I bought the solimar in all black for work purposes. They are comfortable but not as comfortable as the Transport. The sole is a bit thinner, it still has the softness and cushion Hokas are known for. However the top of the shoe is made of a flexible fabric. Reminds me of some Nike shoes I used to have. They still comfortable, I just don't think it will protect me from something falling on my feet or water will easily get in. The front is also a bit narrower than the Transport and I'm use to have the wide front on any shoes I wear. Group fitness instructor, I've been wearing Solimars for years now. I love them for classes that involve a lot of high/low impact, like aerobics and HIIT. I just purchased my 9th pair. HOWEVER, our fitness room has a rolled vinyl floor, and for whatever reason, some of the newer colorways for the shoes that have non-white soles stick to that vinyl floor like glue. I've almost fallen a couple of times moving sideways because my shoe sticks. It doesn't happen with the white rubber, but I've had two pairs that had a colored sole (one lavender, one green) and they both stick, especially when it's a little humid. Now I'm careful to only buy the colorways with white soles.
I did a lot of reading. I did the Hoka shoe survey so the site would help me determine what shoe was the best for the workouts I do. To clarify, the first Hoka shoe I purchased was the Clifton 9. I loved it. Super comfortable. Great support. Even with a broken toe I could still workout. Then, the sole fell apart after 4 months. I never wore it outside. I returned the Clifton 9 and received a Hoka online credit. Now what shoe to get? I wanted to stay away from the same sole type so I didn't run into the same problem. Reading... Survey... Was told the Solimar was THE shoe for me. I do a combined weight training/cardio workout. Dumbells, Kettle bells, weighted medicine balls. Jumping, burpees, jump rope etc. The Solimar is comfortable. Reading... Survey... Was told the Solimar was THE shoe for me. I do a combined weight training/cardio workout. Dumbells, Kettle bells, weighted medicine balls. Jumping, burpees, jump rope etc. The Solimar is comfortable. Fits well in the heel and mid foot. BUT, there is no support in the toe area. My workout has a fair amount of lateral movement along with planks etc. This shoe doesn't keep my toes in place. They continually slide over the sole edge to the outside of the shoe. Even though this shoe is listed under the crosstraining section, it is NOT a good shoe for aggressive training. Maybe straight road running? Or just walking. Had I been able to try the shoe on in a store, and not deal with an online credit, I would NOT have purchased this shoe.
I usually wear Arahi or Bondi, since I need support and I pronate (high arches that go flat). Bought the Solimar because I wanted this color for skummer and it's probably the most normal-looking shoe in the lineup (for an old lady who walks but doesn't run). They fit well, but I could tell they were not as supportive as my other Hokas. Then, after four or five days of wearing them, I woke up with pain in the peroneal tendon (around the outer ankle bone) and a searing cramp in the muscle attached to it (peroneus brevis). So I think I'll need to add arch supports?Still like the shoes, and wish Hoka would make more normal-looking ones with standard colors and non-extended soles. Lots of old ladies (and men) can afford to buy them!
This shoe does not have the HOKA look with the giant heel. If you care about that, do not buy it. I am a recreational runner ( only 1-2 miles a few time a week). I have feet that have an extremely high arch, so I need a shoe that is very flexible because I run on my forefoot. These shoes are VERY flexible and very lightweight, yet supportive and cushy. This product has a bit higher heel-drop than the rest, and I need that to run the way I do. I thought the technology in this new style might help me run with a more heel-to toe movement, but I can't seem to do it! all the time! Either way I run, the shoe works for me and is super comfortable. I got the all white so I can also wear them for tennis, but I think the other colors would look better in this shoe since it is ... MoreThis shoe does not have the HOKA look with the giant heel. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I don't know about the "wear and tear"- I don't know yet how long it will physically hold up because I've only had it for a couple of weeks.
