Only issue is that the design has a lip on the back of the heel, which seems to me to make it not a true slide. What is the point of it? In the smaller size I ordered, my heel kept hitting the lip -- irritating, and the front part has an edge also that my toes hit when I slid up to try to avoid the back lip. The front and back edges come up but don't actually make a shoe that would stay on your foot like a shoe. They still flop like a flip flop slide a little and your heel is coming up when you walk and so the back lip is the big annoyance. I am a 7-1/2 but wear 8's in flip flops and slides so I expected the 8 to fit fine or the 7 to fit if the 8 was too large. Guess there is a really big size difference in these. Anyway, what I do like about them is they are still comfy and cushy like the Oofos slides but have a little firmer structure underneath and way better tread, so they're not as easy to fall out of or have the front toe fold under etc. If they'd just remove the dumb lip and not have a huge size gap, these would be perfect.

Fix it! The updated unisex style is awful!

Our family has been extremely disappointed by the switch to the unisex version of the Hoka Ora 3 Recovery Slides since last year. These slides were the only shows that brought relief to my foot pain, and when they switched from offering wide to only unisex sizing, it made the slides ill fitting. It is too narrow for a male or woman with a wide foot. The slide also comes up really high in the back area now. I’d guess the back area cupping/heightening was to increase support and enhance the look, but it took away from functionality. Very disappointed in Hoka's current recovery slide because I have an earlier version of this slide (it's about 2-3 years old) that fits and feels way better than the new version. The new version is not as comfortable - it is not as wide as the previous model, and there is a little ridge on the back of the heel (which you can see in the profile of the shoe that is pictured in their ads) that is uncomfortable. The old version of this shoe did not have that ridge, it was wider, and its slits went horizontally across the shoe; the horizontal slits make more sense because they are laying across the top in the same the way your foot bends when you walk. Literally A Life Changer

These slides have given me my mobility back (I know, crazy, right!?). I have severe osteoarthritis in my knees that is badly aggravated by fallen arches and overpronation. Even after surgeries and physical therapy, being on my feet for any amount of time was a struggle, the pain in my knees was debilitating. I had tried several other expensive "ortho" shoe brands to no avail. I slowly gave up the things I love...baking (the standing killed my knees!), running, golf...even everyday tasks would put me on the couch; I was miserable. Perfect for foot injury

I burned my feet badly in a house fire and couldn't put socks or shoes on for the first 3 months of this year. I have the previous version in 2 different colorways and these in the light blue. These are different but I wouldn't say better or worse than the older ones except for the bottom seems to be wearing faster than the older pairs. I alternated between the 3 from Jan 1 to the end of March and the newer versions show less creasing of the foam but more wear on the bottom. The little micro texture on the bottom has rubbed off in a few spots on the 3s and hasn't on the 2s.The older sizes seemed closer too, I wore a 13 in the 2s and 13s in these are much bigger. I can run full speed in the 2s, that rocker and the toe off suit my feet perfectly, these are a different experience but as I said, I like these an equal amount as the 2 versions. I shouldn't be sprinting in slides anyways.I find the foam touching my feet slightly softer but the frame around the edge on these is different than the previous version, really noticeably the heel is more sunk in and I don't feel quite as much squish under the heel as 2nd versions but more squish under rest of the foot and toes.I wish they kept the 2 design around, I never knew I wanted to run in sandals until the 2s.I wear these all the time for everything now. I have flat feet and both versions can get some odor problems, the foot bed doesn't breath well, that's my only complaint.I am still trying to figure out what "air channels" are that they mention as a change in these. The tread is deeper in the 3s so guessing it's something with that but I can't count 4 of anything. Maybe they will explain it on here.

Perfect for wearing everyday around the house

I broke my foot 12 weeks ago, 5th metatarsal Jones fracture. That's a touchy healing process for a weight bearing bone that doesn't get good blood supply unless you're walking. I usually wear crocs around the house daily, we have all hard floors and walking bare-footed leaves sore feet at the end of the day, and wearing tennis shoes all day makes my feet feel hot and uncomfortable. These slides are absolutely perfect. They have the best arch support, and overall foot support. The quality is far superior to crocs and they're even a little cheaper than a typical pair of crocs as well. The arch support took a little getting used to. I have high arches so I should be wearing shoes like this anyway. Someone mentioned they're uncomfortable without socks. With these Hoka slides you will notice anything that gets in your shoe immediately. I don't feel like my feet slide around in them when bare, but I don't get overly sweaty feet. I also feel my feet are secure bare footed in these but more so with socks. I also recommend sizing down. I have average to narrow width and a size 10.5-11. Based on reviews I sized down to 10. They fit really well, and I think a 9.5 would've worked too. I also ordered a pair of the Bondi 8 shoes. Both my Hoka recovery slides and the Hoka Bondi 8 shoes have been the best footwear since breaking my foot. I finally feel I can do a full stride on that foot and am walking normally again. These shoes are bulky looking but feel like heaven for your feet. If you're serious about foot comfort and support these are for you.

Sizing in reality designed for men, not women

I have now ordered five Hoka Ora recovery sandals in an effort to find a pair that will fit me properly. I originally ordered an Ora Recovery and a Luxe Recovery (adjustable) pair in size 10 from another company, and I looked like a child clomping around in her father’s shoes - that’s how oversized they were. LLBean’s were advertised as women’s Ora recovery sandals, but in reality they’re also sized for men and women. Consequently, if you go by the size you wear in Hoka shoes, you might find these to be absolutely huge. I take a 10/10.5 wide in a Hoka Bondi 8, but neither the 10 nor the 9 in the Ora recovery sandal fits. In fact, my feet are swimming in the size 9 sandals, so I’ve just ordered the size 8. Supremely comfortable!

I love these. They are so cushiony and comfortable - my feet love when I come in the house and put them on. Having said that, I do only wear them around the house (and the yard) but not when I'm out and about. This is mostly because of the color, which is a bright orange. I do want to buy another pair in black to wear on quick trips to the store, etc. but they never seem to be in stock in my size (W8). I tried the grey for another neutral color, but the color is much lighter than what appears on the screen. So, I'm stuck waiting for the black to be in stock. As for another reviewer's comment that they cause blisters on the pinky toe and should only be worn with socks, I did not find this to be true. Also, the cushioning on these is far superior to any other brand of recovery sandal I've tried (e.g., Merrell, Oofos (hated) Timberland, Reef, etc.). I think they're so comfortable, I bought a pair for my son-in-law who is in the military and he loves them.

Toe bump/ridge = Unnecessary "innovation". Blister machines!

The ora recovery slide 2 is my most worn shoe in adulthood. Love it. Still wearing worn out ones all the time now because the ora 3 have the toe bump that is not designed for all feet. Unpleasant at first

I have had foot pain for about 6 years now and was increasingly getting worse, I have been involved in to say the least extreme sports as well as recreational sports my entire life since around 5yrs old(I am 30 now) sports including soccer, cricket, football, baseball, downhill mtn bike racing and motocross racing, I work 8-5 as a 4Wd parts and accessories fitter and previously qualified motorcycle mechanic,(always on my feet on concrete).I was looking for something to easy the pain on my feet after all these years since the transfer of pain started moving towards my knees hip and back for compensating for the foot pain. I went in store to try on a pair knowing I wasn’t certain of web purchasing. I proceeded to purchase against any off feelings. For the first day and a half post purchase I had powdered my feet and the slide and with socks and bared a short but satisfying break-in of the slides. I have had my set no longer than 5 days and my foot pain is next to gone along with knee and hip pain. I wish I knew of these earlier in my life for body preventative maintenance 😂. So far my experience with these slides have far exceeded my expectations and would recommend to anyone willing to bare the breaking in period!
