Best shoes for plantar fascitis
22 January 2024BB

I have suffered with severe plantar fascitis for 3 years. I have tried several brands of shoes, but mostly Hokas. These are by far the pair that is the best. I have pain in every other pair that I wear. The reviews say to order a size up, but I found my regular size worked well. I have a wide foot and this works well. I would encourage you to try them and not pay too much attention to the negatives that people have posted. Every shoe fits and works differently for each person. I found that these provide as much support as I need while also making a soft enough cushion so each step is not terribly painful. I am waiting for my second pair to deliver. Please keep making these shoes! The grey is a dark grey like slate. Someone was overly dramatic about it in a post. ... MoreI have suffered with severe plantar fascitis for 3 years. Great shoe but you need to use a bigger size than normal

I now have two pairs of the Restore TCs. I am 65 years old with persistent arthritic foot problems and walk 30+ minutes every day. I am a normal 9.5 wide fit. Hoka's were recommended by my foot orthopedic doc. I have walked daily with Bondi 8s for a few years and now walk daily Gaviota 5s to get some better stability for knee protection. I bought my first pair of Restore TCs to use daily around the house as the Hoka slides caused other problems in my toe joints. My first pair of Restore TCs were a size 10. They've been "okay." This time I bought a size 11 to better compensate for my wide foot. So far, they are working very well.

I love these shoes, only one thing is not right.

I would use as a walking and standing shoe and especially for easy on and off. My feet had a lot of surgery on them and I need the most cushioned and to protect my toes.one problem. My heel comes out of them as if I were wearing a flip flop.I tried everything to keep my heel in to no avail.the forefront is perfect. if I could just keep my heel from slipping out.maybe another construction to tighten the heal or a bungee to tighten and keep the foot from coming out.I am afraid of exchanging for a smaller size for fear it will be too tight.the top material of the shoe is scratchy to the toes.I would change to a cusioned top.I would exchange. but I already threw the box away.make half sizes

Incredibly happy with my purchase of a new Hoka product RT
13 October 2023

The slip on shoe is absolutely comfortable yet stable. I have been wearing the Hoka recovery slip on shoe for a number of years now. I wear the very comfortable Hoka walking shoes everywhere I go away from home. The RT product is an incredible go to shoe that gives me all the benefits, and actually more, of a plush cushion and comfort of the recovery shoe. It also afforded me this stability of the Hoka walking shoe. I have been thinking about a shoe like this for a while now, I actually left my opinion about some kind of shoe like this sometime in the last month.I have some lower back nerve pain issues that also affect a lower lower legs. Nearly perfect.

I don't understand the lukewarm and bad reviews of this shoe. I'm not a big Hoka fan-neutral, if anything-but I think these shoes are extremely comfortable for walking. I live in nyc and all around 10 miles per day. These shoes provide amazing comfort, and at the end of the day my not-young feet still feel fresh. I'm not big into the look of running shoes worn casually, so I'm always looking for something that feels like a running shoe but does not look like one-this one does and does not. In any case, I think it's a fantastic shoe; I broke my right foot two years ago and nearly every shoe irritates it in some way, but this one-mysteriously, magically-does not. Oh, it DOES run 1/2 to a whole size small-my only gripe.

Not my size
2 August 2024

Illusion Dusk (light blue color) has a smart if slightly wide look. I measure 12-1/2 - with an arch measurement indicating 13 (my go-to shoe size). Have a narrow foot - ordered size M12/W13. Toes touched, or would have lived with the width - but would have been sloppy next size up. This model a no-go for me.Hoka's discontinued PROfly was my all time favorite. Sleek, lightweight, attractive, with a firm backstay that allowed step-in. And didn't have the clammy feel some recovery footwear does. Far more comfortable and stylish than step-in shoes now surging in popularity. I get it that step-ins will never be Hoka's identity... but if the PROfly or something like it, were to again become available, I'll be doing a major stock-up.

The Restore TC shoe did not work for me.
3 May 2024

I have several different styles of Hokas. I love them all and try to rotate wear to just Hokas all the time. That said I bought the Restore TCs in black. They are a strange shoe for sure. They have a pretty dominate rocker bottom but that was not hard to adjust to. They were not as soft and comforting for my feet as the Ora Recovery slides and that influenced my decision to return them. But the biggest hindrance was the way they pinched my upper ankle. They are very tall and also high on the ankle. They also have something like an inner sleeve that cupped tightly. The size fit was fine. After wearing them around the house for 2 days I realized we would have to break up. I was able to return them free of charge and received my credit 2 days later. Tremendously disappointed in Hoka
5 July 2024

I have been Hokas for years. I read the reviews on this slip on in advance of purchasing them, and although mixed, I assume there were just some unhappy campers out there. However, when I opened the box, I instantly knew a big mistake had been made. These shoes are not black, they are charcoal gray at best. The sizing is not accurate at all. I ordered a 14 and they felt more like a 12. The insoles are rubber. Very uncomfortable. They are just hideous. Hilarious. Hoka please, make these all black, and put in real cushion insoles and make them size appropriate. A lot of unnecessary stress was caused by putting this shoe on the market.

Wasn't sure I would like these, but I ended up LOVING them!
20 October 2023

I live in Montana and do a lot of hiking, especially long 10-12 mile hikes in Glacier National Park. Some with very steep descents. My feet need help the next couple days following a hike like that. I had no idea there was such a thing as "recovery shoes" so I ordered these with a lot of hope. Got them, thought they looked like clown shoes at first, but they are SO COMFORTABLE and I realized they are roomy and larger in the toe and heal for a reason. Truly recovery shoes! They're probably meant for marathon runners, but I now bring them with me and leave them in my vehicle so that at the end of a long hike, I can walk around in cushiony comfort and drive safely home. My sizing assessment, "feels true to size" isn't exactly true... if they were normal outdoor hiking shoes yes, they'd be too large, but for recovery, they are absolutely angelic and the right size. But I ordered in my normal size and they are perfect. Not snug. Not falling off. Just roomy, but purposely so.

Would buy again with some changes

I love slip on shoes, so when hoka came out with these it was on my list. Their neutral colors sold out a few times. I picked up a pair to try, all black, sz 10. They don't look like the same color black as in the picture, they look faded, but says black on the box, as for comfort they are a bit pinchy on the outside of the Arch, & my feet are kinda skinny so they are somewhat loose around the opening, & it causes slight heel lift, good toeroom, feels comfy with toesocks but needs a bit more support in the stretchy elastic. So I gave it a 2 for some reasons. The color of the shoe is not matching the pictures its not black but looks charcoal grey. The front toe area seems to easily scuff because it's made with a soft sole cusion like material. So I am concerned with wear, similar to my bondi's, they may wear faster than expected so I will likely not want to wear these everyday, & only for casual use. My only major issue is with the insole. It's not really an insole it's more like a thick foot cushion, because it's really thick, so if I wanted to use any other off the shelf insole it will not work with these shoes. They're good slip on but just need more things I mentioned to make it right.
