Get ready to blast off in the HOKA Rocket X 2. HOKA designers completely redesigned this shoe to make you as fast and efficient as possible. A new, spoon-shaped, carbon-fiber plate gives you enhanced propulsion. They sandwiched it between two layers of their new PEBA midsole foam that is ultra-responsive and ultra-lightweight to give you the best performance. Their Proflytrade-X Construction gives you cushioned landings and propulsive toe-offs. The performance upper gives you a foot-hugging fit with an internal midfoot cage and a gusseted tongue that locks your foot over all of that cushioning as you whip around turns, which stood out to runners in our HOKA Rocket X 2 review. It has a wider toebox than other carbon-plated race day shoes and offset lacing to keep the pressure off the top of your foot. Plus, designers strategically placed the rubber outsole for good grip and traction on the road, while still keeping it lightweight. One of the best carbon-plated shoes, the HOKA Rocket X 2 will help you hit top speeds.

I run in Hokas almost exclusively, except for road marathons. In the last few years, I've always run in Vaporflys, so I was really excited to try these Rocket X. Everyone has been raving about these, and they aren't wrong. The shoes feel comfortable and provide the bounce at pushoff that helps on race day. So what's the issue? The heel cup. In an effort to keep this as lightweight as possible, they offer no stability in the heel cup. It's essentially just fabric around the back of your heels. It makes the shoes very hard to put on. I could feel them rubbing right away, and I was worried that they would cause hot spots (and potentially blisters) on my heels. Moving up a size wasn't the solution for me (the size fit great) -- the issue is in how the heel is ... MoreI run in Hokas almost exclusively, except for road marathons. It needs to have its own structural integrity and not pull into the back of your heel when you push off.Very sadly, I had to return my pair. I'll bide my time and wait until they update the model (and hopefully fix the heel).

I'm a big guy and enjoy the challenge of running all sorts of distances. This shoe has plenty of bounce and gives you momentum moving forward. I did find the toe box to be a bit snug. But overall it's a fun shoe to run in and plan to use them in up coming races.

Holy cow, Batman!!! I didn't think shoes could make that much of a difference, but these are VERY fast shoes. I have yet to test them on a long-ish run so not sure how comfortable they would be or if they could eventually affect your form. I know for sure I will be using them on races! Can't wait to actually put them to the test!

I use this product for workouts and racing. I love how responsive the shoe is and how true the fit is. The cushioning is like nothing I've ever experienced as far as a racing shoe goes and what's not to love about a carbon plate shoe. Wish I had the opportunity to be sponsored by you. I'd promote you day in and out through out the race scene.
Absolutely love, love it! I now have 4 of them (purchased 3 in January 2020 full price then 1 in November 2020 for half price in the sale). I purchased size small and the fit is exactly as described. I do have a very small bust of 34-inches so it hangs on me slightly slack (the small is not snugged or form fitting at all but a nice loose-fit) however, this is how I prefer wearing running tops so can comfortably layer as much as I want. I personally find the thermal levels to be ideal for both milder and colder temperatures. I can run with it alone plus a sports bra up till -10 C and anything lower than that I will add one more layer under it.
I've run about 60-70 miles in these now and love the cushioning and the ability to go fast or the softness to enjoy running a a decent pace to just log miles. They do fit much tighter than any Hoka I've run in and I have 30 plus pairs of Hokas. I did have a problem with the top of the heal cup cutting into my Achilles Tendon. That still hasn't broken in and may be a defect of the left shoe. The right one is perfect. I changed to 3/4 socks which help prevent it now. These are still my favorite shoes for races or long distance. Would be 5 stars if not for this one issue. They are tight but the cushioning is the best I've ever run in.
I'm amazed with this super shoe , Hoka has finally made a super bouncy, fun and comfortable shoe to compete with the other super super shoe companies. I love the bounce effect, the cushioning and the stack are all super good but I agree with some other comments the heal counter and what's supposed to be a heal cup is the absolute worst I've ever seen on a running shoe and I've seen a lot in my 50 years of running and competing. I feel so much slipping and sliding from the back of my heal , Achilles tendon area when I run in these shoes. I have not had a blister yet from it but I know if I try and do a long long run it will happen unfortunately. Not sure what Hoka was thinking with the heal counter on this new super shoe. If it wasn't for that issue my honest opinion ... MoreI'm amazed with this super shoe , Hoka has finally made a super bouncy, fun and comfortable shoe to compete with the other super super shoe companies. Got brand news Rocket X, wearing since 05/16/23. So far they are ok. The only thing I say it: the heals/ back of the shoes were so soft, they very hard to put them on- I wish they have the loops on back, so we can hold on to loops. Maybe that way, they would be more easier to put them on. The lasting or materials wise- not sure yet due to only wearing for couple weeks. Overall, they are comfortable to run!
I absolutely, positively love it. The new foam is incredible and super duper comfy, especially for a plated shoe. Had to order a 1/2 size larger (normally wear a 10). Already ordered a 2nd pair. It is a completely game changing shoe for speed and road runs.
I took my maiden voyage with them yesterday and felt a new experience with shoes that sound and feel like something I've never experienced. I ran this half century PR mile with them. I felt like I could run faster and wanted to run faster because of what the shoes were making me feel. It was really fun. I'm a physical therapist and am very picky about my shoes and I was very skeptical , but having now tried them I'm excited to do it again. I don't usually leave reviews but I have to say Hoka killed it on this one!!
