Whether you're training for a marathon or just enjoying a casual run, the HOKA Clifton 9 is the ideal all-round running shoe. Experience the ultimate performance of the Clifton 9 every day. Midsole To make your runs comfortable, HOKA has added a CMEVA midsole that provides plenty of cushioning and effective protection while running. By placing the transition zone behind the metatarsals, the Early stage Meta-Rocker geometry contributes to a quick transition of the feet. With a smoother stride and a faster transition to the forefoot, you will feel more explosive. Upper A mesh upper makes the Clifton 9 highly breathable and comfortable to wear while running. The shoe's pleated tongue is attached to the upper on both sides, preventing debris from entering the shoe and keeping the tongue centered. Outsole The outsole is made of durabrasion rubber and has a coarse profile for a lot of grip on every type of surface. Zones of abrasion rubber have been added to the heel and forefoot for improved durability. The geometry of the outsole is designed in such a way to guarantee inherent stability and an efficient stride. Order and discover the versatility of the HOKA Clifton 9 within a few days.

I bought the new Clifton 9 in the cute pink color. I have owned multiple pairs of Clifton’s before and have been very happy with them.. no break in time, comfortable from first try on. When I first tried these on, I felt something was off. They just didn’t feel right.. more firm, rubbing my ankles. I wore them for 2 weeks to see if I could break them in but my feet ACHED when I wore them and hurt after I took them off too. So sad that they changed up these shoes. They are TTS as my others were but I just couldn’t keep wearing them as they hurt SO much.

I have loved the Clifton since version 1. Over the years they have tinkered with the formula. Some versions were better than others. I find the 9 a move in the right direction- back toward the roots of the shoe - light and soft. This shoe is. Both of those things with a supportive upper and a roomy toe box. It isn’t a very stable shoe and the sole is likely to wear quickly - but those are expected worthwhile trade offs for this type of trainer.

I haven't bought running shoes in quite awhile. I can no longer jog due to my knees but, I power walk and walking shoes were not cutting it. My knees were sore the day after walking so until I purchased the Hoka shoe, I would alternate walking with the stationary bike. The Hoka is a cushioned ride and to my surprise, hugs my narrow heel. I'm also able to put my orthotics in them with no issues on the fit and this is the first pair of running shoes that I can wear my regular street size instead of ordering a half or full size larger. Not sure what the life expectancy is for these shoes but time will tell. Hoka Clifton 9 are my walking for exercise shoes. This model & its predecessor, Clifton 8, are longer than previous versions. I sized 1/2 size down on the 9s and am glad I did. I have been ordering women's D (wide) and am happy with the extra room to keep a small bunion from growing.Note about the Black/Copper color: the black accent between the cloth and the white base give the illusion of a wider foot. If this is a concern, choose a different color combo.I rotate between Cliftons and Rincons. I like the lightness of the Rincons and wish they were available in wide. Both options have good cush and are comfy.
Iam a nurse who works 12 hour shifts and needed a comfortable and supportive shoe. Purchased pair clifton 9 two weeks ago. They have decent support which helped bottom of foot. However they are not soft and comfortable. They are very stiff and let me tell you they run small and narrow and purchased half soze larger than I normally wear. Typically shoes are big on my heel and upper foot but I need length. If your feet are wide at all these would not be for you. The shoes are rubbing too much against ankle and too of foot. Plus the toe is somewhat pointed leaving little room in the toe box. I am disappointed because I hear of many people who love their hokas. My husband too he wears the clufton 8. So clifton 9 was a mistake
These are my 5th pair of Cliftons and there definitely is a difference. The toe box feels roomier than the 8's did, but I didn't have that sink in, ultra-comfy, "Aaah"-like experience when I first put them on. There feels like there is more bounce to them, and that makes them definitely feel more responsive than the 7's or 8's did. My first run was four miles--I don't run any other pace besides slow--and while comfortable, they felt like they need to be broken in, which I didn't have to do with previous models. I still like them, though, and hopefully the more miles I put on them, the cushier they'll feel. For reference I am a 148lb female.
I have Clifton 8's and I feel a good cushion when I have them on. These are supposed to be more cushion but I'm not feeling it at all. These feel hard underfoot to me. Nothing like the 8's. I have a problem with the ball of my left foot. It hurts quite a bit of the time. It does not hurt at all in the 8's but the 9's it hurts every step. Again, not feeling the cushion at all. I would not buy these. I already returned them. They are very cute and stylish but when that's said and done that's about all the good I can say about it.
I present to you my new daily running shoe. My last pair of shoe were the saucony Kinvara 8. I had order the new kinvara 12 but they didn’t fit my feet well. I needed new shoes and I found these. What a nice surprise, perfect combinaison of confort and performance with a toe box wide enough to fit my big hallux valgus(runner feet). I used to order 7.5 us women but for them I needed to take half a size smaller(so a 7). Would absolutely recommend. I run between 5k to 15k very easily without any problem.
I'm an elite marathon runner and have been wearing Cliftons since 2016 and these are the best updated model! They are light and provide the perfect amount of cushioned support for a midfoot strike and toe transition. Just enough traction for road running, track, and light trails. Lasts well on long runs and also runs great when I pick up the pace on tempo runs. I bought 2 pairs to rotate so that they last longer. Be sure to walk around in them before your first run, they come a little stiff like most new shoes.
