Let me start off by saying I *REALLY* wanted Hoka shoes to work for me! I ordered this shoe in a 6.5 Wide and planned to use them for treadmill and road running. I have overpronation, which was the deciding factor for these shoes. The toe-box is wonderful! Ample space for my wide toe splay and the upper is so comfortable and almost sock-like. The support and cushion is outstanding and I would have LOVED to keep these. Unfortunately, my entire foot is wide, and not just my toes. The raised inner edge of the arch and heel foam (likely for added support) hits nearly two centimeters into my arch and heel. It's like having a stick inside my shoe running down my arch. Anyway, I took them back to a brick and mortar store with a Hoka Hub and tried two other Hoka models ... MoreLet me start off by saying I *REALLY* wanted Hoka shoes to work for me! I am a dog walker, and walk anywhere between 6-10 miles 5 days a week, plus weekend exercise. So these are definitely a daily wear. I bought these shoes in November and was expecting these shoes to last at least a year, given the price point. It has been 5 months and they are falling apart. They are ripped in several spots, inside and outside of the shoe. The insoles were replaced after about 3 months due to no longer providing comfort. I thought that would help, and it has, but the shoes are no longer structurally supportive. The bottoms of the shoes have no more traction. I suppose these shoes are for someone who doesn't walk several miles daily.

Background, I work on my feet, I walk to work. I have metal plates and pins in my right ankle, they have been there since I was a teenager. I was recently diagnosed with Mueller Weiss syndrome. I have previously worn the Bondi with a lot of comfort, but recently as my foot condition has worsened, and my arch is starting to fall, I still need a supportive shoe, I need stability, but I needed the arch to be a hair lower. The Arahi, is incredibly stable and the arch feels more comfortable on my feet. The stability track in these is great, I have a tendency to roll my foot when it feels crunchy, but the stability track in the shoe keeps my feet rolling front to back and overall being less painful. I do have to lace my shoes differently to keep the tops of my feet ... MoreBackground, I work on my feet, I walk to work. I do have to lace my shoes differently to keep the tops of my feet comfortable, and this shoe has a smaller tongue, so with my lacing technique change I need to make sure the tongue is pulled up while I tie my shoes. Overall, this shoe seems to be just what I needed. I took them to my last podiatry appointment, and the podiatrist said they are perfect for my condition.

Before buying my first pair of Hoka Ahari 6, I had never owned a pair. I got my first pair from a running shop that allows you to buy the shoes, wear them and if they don't meet your needs you can return them or exchange them. After trying my first pair I was sold on the stabilization aspect of this shoe. I'm overweight (254 lbs, 5'0"), but stand and walk on my feet on the days I work. These shoes have been a game changer! While I'm not going to sit here and say my feet aren't tired at the end of my work day, they certainly aren't hurting anywhere near what they used to when I wore a different brand of cushioned, supportive shoes. (Skechers) While those other shoes were "cushioned" they did not have the support and stability that the Ahari 6 offers. I bought my shoes in a wide and they are perfect for my feet. I've paired my Ahari's with support socks on days I have to work and just can't say enough good things about this shoe. I'm a customer for life. My feet thank you!
I got these shoes quite recently and have worn them to work, a run, and a long walk. My first day wearing them was to work. I started the day with my feet hurting and ended the day with my feet pain free, astounding given my standing desk and regular walking breaks. Next, I wore them for a thirty minute fast paced run. I have fairly weak ankles and arches and felt no pain or weakness in either, during or after my run. Amazing. Finally, I wore them for a long hike/walk with my dog. They haven't blistered anywhere, they keep my feet cool and comfortable without being freezing in cold temperatures, they support my arches reasonably well, they protect my ankles excellently. My only complaint to date is that after extended use they wear on the inside of my heel, sort of leaving it raw from rubbing I assume. I believe this will fix itself with wear, as they've only seen about 12 hours of use. I leave a five star review because I have never ordered a shoe (that fits first try!) and had it actually relieve pain, not just prevent it. For that, I'm willing to put up with some adjustment time. Thank you Hoka.
I was introduced to HOKA shoes 2 days ago in Dick’s sporting Goods when I asked the assistant for good running shoes. I’d never heard of them before, and it helped that there was a customer there who also highly recommended HOKA shoes. I tried them on and loved them, but the price put me off, so I went looking at other stores in the area, and ended up going back to Dick’s to buy them. Nothing compares to this shoe, and that was evident the first time I wore them on my daily 4 mile walk\run. I usually walk more and run less, and the first time I wore them I was able to run more and walk less. My feet usually ache by the time I’m finished, and with my new HOKA’s I had no ache at all on my feet. Completely comfortable, and they look amazing too. I got the light blue ones. These are top notch running shoes, and the price reflects it. I’m a firm believer that you get what you pay for, and I got me the best shoes ever!I’m a size 9, but opted for the 9.5 W and they fit perfectly with socks. My feet feel very supported throughout, and they’re just snug enough so that my foot doesn’t move around inside of them which can lead to blisters. They go on with ease too. They slipped right on easily without the use of a shoe tongue.I have a high arch, and these shoes are made for arch support. You can feel it as soon as your foot slides inside. They just feel so good on your feet. As I started walking, it was a little weird because of how the shoe rolls with your stride, but I was used to it very quickly and it felt so good I started running with them!!! I was able to run for most of the 4 miles I do a day, and that hasn’t been the case for the other running shoes I paid a fortune for before I found HOKA.I’m very impressed, and very happy I went back to Dick’s and bought these. Im hooked on HOKA for sure.
I have arthritis in my knee and hip. I also walk 6-7 miles away, so I need a shoe with great cushioning and very good stability. These Hoka Arahis fill the bill. I am able to walk several miles at a time without any pain during or after the walk. This is my second pair of Hokas. After I wore out the first pair (150+ miles), I tried several other brands recommended for walkers/runners with arthritis - Asics, Brooks, Dansko and New Balance (hard no on this one!) I kept the Danskos, but I cannot walk long distances in them. The Hokas are the only shoes with adequate cushioning and stability! I normally wear size 8.5, and purchased the size 9, which fit okay. I will also note that I have very narrow heels and often "walk out" of some shoes, but the Hokas come up high ... MoreI have arthritis in my knee and hip. Many of the other shoes I tried also felt too tight in the toe box, but not these. No more shopping around for me - I'll just keep purchasing these every couple of hundred miles.
I have been looking for a tennis shoe that does not hurt my feet. I feel like I have tried almost every brand out there, but I continue to have problems with my feet hurting. I ordered HOKA shoes based on a recommendation from someone who was an avid walker that loves them.I have been wearing them for a few weeks now (on casual Fridays at work and on the weekends). I use my own hard arches inside the shoes along with an insert from another brand that has additional arch support. I also wear heavy socks to help cushion my feet.My feet do not hurt when I am wearing these shoes but have begun having pretty bad hip pain in the evenings and overnight after I wear them. I chose this shoe among other brands since they're highly rated. I do daily walking and was hoping that my feet would appreciate the extra cushion. On my first walk with the shoe, I noticed that I couldn't really feel the comfort, and as I progressed into my walk the shoe just started to become bothersome rubbing against the inside of my sole. When I removed my shoe, lo and behold I had a blister on each foot.I didn't want to give up on the shoe, so the second time I tried them, I used them with thicker socks. Nope, didn't really add any comfort.I am giving it 3stars because I do like the style and colors of the shoe. I currently use them for doing my errands, but definitely no workouts.I bought a second pair of tennis shoes, different brand, and those are great.
I have ran in nothing but Hoka shoes since back to back stress fractures over 10 years ago. I have never had an issue with sizing or ample room in the toe box as Hoka shoes have been consistent in having shoes with a generous toe box, so my size has remained constant in every model of shoe I have purchased over the years. My right foot is slightly larger than the left. Not a half a size difference or whole size difference, but slightly. I ran in these shoes once and even with the laces loosened, the left shoe was so tight and narrow that I was losing feeling in my toes. I couldn't even finish a run in these. I have never had sizing issues or needed to purchase a wide shoe. I exchanged these for the Mach shoes, so I'm hoping they are much better. How disappointing.
