The Evaporator only cools down the room when it is not hot and opening the window is enough, it does nothing when it is needed it just adds to the hot temperature, the room is very small so $500 Evaporator should do the job. I wish I could return the product and get my money back we used very cold water as recommended. I am very disappointed with the machine

I do not recommend this product. Does not work on even a mid hot day, forget about an absolute hot day. The moisture gets to everything. Did try to return the product, unfortunately the good guys were not helpful at all. Made a big mistake buying this product.

I recently purchased one - tried it out at home in my bedroom and turned the room into a sauna, even with adding ice into the top section it still didn't improve. Followed all instructions to have a window open behind it, still didn't improve. What they don't tell you is that this unit may only reduce air temperature by a degree or two, but from my experience it makes a room hotter and humid. If I were you I wouldn't bother even purchasing or trying this product, total waste of money. My pedistal fan does a better job.

After years of using portable evaporative air coolers, last one was a Convair M800CAUS, now 15 years old and the thin pump drive belt keeps on breaking, looked around the internet and found this one and read good reviews. Compared other brands and after research, decided on this one. Purchased the Honeywell CL30XC 14/11/2016 from Harvey Norman, Rutherford and tested it when I got home and boy, it sure has power and cooling. Not that noisy at high speed. It will be great on a warm night sleeping with this air cooler going in addition to the ceiling fan which only blows down warm air. No rubber belts, this one has an electric pump and inverter.
This is my second unit to serve the other part of the house. The first unit - bought four years ago, is still running well. The only adverse comment I can give, is the rather loud air movement noise when set at its third, highest speed . But it can certainly cool the area fast. Overall, I am quite satisfied with it.
We bought this product two weeks ago whilst SE Qld was in the grip of a heat wave and it is the best thing we could have done. This product cools the rooms down beautifully and makes them so much more comfortable. Don't listen to those people who tell you that evaporative coolers are no good with Qld's humid weather. We have been using nothing but for the last 8 years but this little beauty has many more features than our old evaporative cooler. We are going to purchase 2 more for ourselves for other rooms; our friend and her married daughter are going to purchase 1 each based on our experience. Our friend was amazed at the output of this product.
I love this evap cooler, I use it to keep my home office cool on hot summer days, and it works very very well. Shop around before you buy one, though. I found another one online for around 200 dollars less than what the good guys offer, so I bought my second one from another retailer.
I have just purchased the Honeywell CL30XC and I'm happy with the overall design and the features included. It's also very easy to use. I am disappointed that the lowest fan speed produces more noise than I expected, which is considerably louder than my previous evaporative air cooler. I'm also not sure why the Sleep option functions the way it does. I was expecting this to be much quieter than it is, and I also don't see the point of the Sleep cycle starting at the highest fan speed, then moving to the medium speed and finally to the lowest speed over several hours.
We couldnt use a portable aircond as no window access and cant use split system so only alternative was this evaporative. Not really much better than a fan, you have to stand directly in front of it and not more than 2 metres away. It does not cool the room and its very noisey. Only used once & not happy with it so Good Guys were amazing took it back and gave me a credit.
The product does what it says on the tin blows out a cool air with the help of a water tank you fill up, that can be aided by the application of ice in the top compartment.Would recommend keeping the windows open as despite the fact it blows out cool air, it also adds a significant amount of humidity to the room.Doesnt really cool down a whole room per-se but if youre using it as you would a fan then it does the job.Its quite loud even the lowest setting blows a significant level of air at a significant volume.Its also very overpriced for what you get. Im convinced you could buy an air cooler much like this for half the price and have it do a pretty similar job.
