My ottoman is puffy and soft so it was hard to get a good clean without the solution getting sucked out. I have an elderly dog and have been hand scrubbing pee spots for quite a while, I thought I was doing a good job but I was so wrong. This spot cleaner really gets the mess out and leaves your carpet fresh. I would definitely recomend the Hoover Power Dash GO Pet + Spot Cleaner to anyone with pet messes, it really does a great job. I don’t know what happened. I had the previous version of this, and it was one of our favorite home purchases ever. Unfortunately I dropped that one and broke it, so I immediately re-purchased this new version. From the day we got it the dirty water when it sucked back up into the hose leaks out the sides of the button that you push for the cleaning solution to come out... so when I am scrubbing dog puke out of the carpet, that dog puke water is coming back up and leaking all over my hands. GROSS. I’m returning this and will purchase a different Hoover spot cleaner, but we’re really disappointing because we really loved this original unit.

With 3 dogs around, every now and then they'll have an accident. This stain remover vacuum comes in hand and is portable and lightweight. Unfortunately, no where in the instructions does it mention anything about adding water to the tank. I know some vacuums may function that way, but would've been helpful if it had explained that this particular model needs some water to use properly.It did come with a small sample of the solution to lift and clean stains which was pretty helpful to start off with. Along with interchangely brushes. One is a regular brush to scrub on the carpet. The other has silicone tips that help with picking up any dog fur along the way.I think it's great for small areas on carpet or on a fabric couch.

I wonder if the suction complaints are due to people not reading the instructions. It works as well as the upholstery attachment on my Bissell did before it developed a severe leak. For less than 100 dollars I’m pleased with its performance. I also think that it looks nicer from a design viewpoint than the comparable Bissell upholstery cleaners. Out of the box it comes with two sample size bottles of cleaner (this thrilled me because most only give you one bottle of sample solution) and two scrubbing heads. One is traditional with nylon bristles and the other has silicone bristles. I used the nylon attachment. I found that it shed a lot initially, but it’s not as if they all fell out. I was scrubbing really hard with it so I guess that’s to be expected. You can’t even tell that it shed at all. If my house had more carpet I would go out and buy the matching larger Hoover PowerDash because I’m really impressed with its performance.
I bought this a couple years ago because it was my only option at the time. It does a good job of sucking up dog urine from my carpet and fits nicely under the sink. Drawbacks: The solution container cannot be kept in place on the machine when not in use because the solution leaks out. The machine is lightweight and easily tips over which ends up spilling whatever you have sucked up and also spills the solution. The solution is expensive and does not totally remove the stench in the carpet from the urine. I have washed the spot multiple times and I can still smell it. I won't buy this again.

While using this cleaner in my car I saw a couple improvements that could be made to make this product easier and more versatile. The solution tank is extremely small. Again for small spots or stairs, it would be fine. Doing an entire vehicle had me refilling the tank with hot water roughly 8-12 times. I also realized it would be great if the hose was a little bit longer. In a smaller sedan it may not be an issue, but for SUVs and trucks the hose just felt too short, even when having the unit in the vehicle with me. I also noticed at some points there was soapy water leaking and blowing out of the back of the unit where the motor vents from. The unit was on a flat surface and the tank was not even half full yet so I am unsure of the cause, but at one point I unplugged the unit and let it sit and dry out for a while as I was worried about any components getting wet that should not be. I was also disappointed with the sprayer function, everytime I pressed the trigger, it would start out in a nice broadcast pattern (identical to the pattern the handheld hose nozzle on our 20 year old Hoover), but within no more than a second or two, the stream would die down to just a piddle and it did not distribute the water evenly at all and it made the job take longer. Not between this issue, and the water spraying out of the vent issue, I wondered if I may have gotten a defective product but aside from those issues the unit worked well. Overall, as I said this would be excellent for a household with pets or children where spots and stains on upholstery is inevitable. The small size but strong suction power makes it perfect for tasks like that.

I was expecting many more steps, especially for the first use. When using the cleaner machine, the wand fit nicely in my hand - was agronomical - the hosing bent easily to where I wanted to place the wand, and feels like it will be strong for many years. The dispensing of cleaner from the bottom side of wand felt natural. And then when sucking up the cleaner it was powerful and only left a small amount of dampness behind. From my experience there are only two downsides to the unit, and both are cosmetic. The first is the wand comes with two wand agitators, but no way to store both on the machine. One agitator can be attached to the wand, but I'm worried I may misplace the other when it comes time to use it. The second issue is not being able to secure the long hose for storage or porting. The machine has a couple tracks for the hose to help with wrapping it around the cleaner, but the wand doesn't have a way to be secured. The cleaner has a nice handle for carrying, but I found myself having to also hold the hose in the other hand. I have been keeping the cleaner machine in the box to help with not losing pieces or carrying it around. Overall, I am very satisfied with the cleaner machine. It cleans as well as, if not better, than the full size machines.
