Having not ventured into the upgrades market, I was unsure of the various configurations and options and what your money gets you. A bit of research and seeking value I settled on these wheels knowing through reputation alone that Hope were a solid choice. Once I fitted them and got rolling I was not disappointed, they are faster, smoother and Just better than I ever expected. I highly recommend these wheels and my hopes in Hope are well founded! Iโ€™ve never purchased Hope before but will be my go to choice for components going foward as the product and support has been excellent. Add to that, Sigma Sports helped through the live chat and were very helpful too.

Bought this along with the matching front wheel to make a wheelset. They have replace a pair of custom Mavic Open Pro disc rims laced to 105 R7070 hubs with Sapim CX Ray spokes. An almost like-for-like swap but having ridden these for a good few hundred kms it's fair to say these are some of the best alloy disc wheels you will find. Having worked in the cycling industry most things are bought from big factories and branded up differently. With Hope, the rims are very similar to an AlexRim but the hubs are beyond compare. And it's true, they're made in the UK so you know you're not getting a re-branded novatec hub.Only the best quality equipment goes on my bikes and these wheels are here to stay!

Second set of hope wheels. I have the rs4 32 hole for my gravel bike and this set for a road set of wheels. Only negative is the rim is very difficult to setup for tubeless, other than that itโ€™s a perfect wheel

Great wheels, tricky to seal tubeless
12 December 2019

Been riding these for a while now and find them very good. RS4 rear hub is actually quiet unlike their mtb hubs. But I think this is due to some grease in the hub pawls. Tubeless setup took a few attempts at taping and adding sealant.

Light weight and quality build
14 March 2019

An enforced replacement for my commuter that's suffered three years of London roads. A little more than I wanted to spend but I've been using Hope Pro 2 hubs on my mountain bike for years and they're still going strong. This wheel is so much lighter than the stock wheel or replaced, it was like riding a gear lower as it spins up so quick.I've only done a few hundred miles on it so far but no complaints. I'm looking for a reason to buy a matching front...

Light, strong and quiet

Everything I had read about these wheels led me to believe that the freehub was going to be very loud, they are definitely not loud. Like the other reviewer, maybe they get louder with age?Light and strong. Virtually every part is replaceable so I fully expect these wheels to last a long time.Much more responsive than my stock Maddux 2.1.Very happy with my choice.

Perfect all-season wheels
11 June 2020

A few hundred miles in and these are fantastic. Smooth rolling, strong and not too heavy.I'm using them on a gravel bike converted for winter/rainy road riding and commuting, paired with Conti Hardshell 28mm tyres. For sunny days I have a posh bike with deep-section wheels, but really it's an unnecessary luxury. If you can only afford one bike for year-round riding, a gravel bike with a set of these Hope wheels, wide road tyres and mud guards is the all the bike you'll ever need. They're slower accelerating than posh carbon wheels, but it's all marginal considering they cost maybe a third of the price. Highly recommended.

Robust wheels but lighter than my stock wheels
11 May 2018

I wanted an upgrade on my stock wheels, something lighter but also stronger that would cope with some of the appalling roads out there. Sigmasports suggested that I consider the Hope 20FIVE wheels, in part based on workshop feedback that they last. Some reviews say the freewheel is noisy, it is not that noisy (maybe they get noiser with age?) and I kind of like the sound, in any case its good for warning pedestrians. The wheels I got are disk break only, so they contour the rim with no flat surface for callipers, which may make them a little aero without too much cross section in the wind. They seem good to me, and cheaper than the alternative upgrade I initially considered.

Solid and good rolling British hubs
22 July 2019

This was a really good purchase. I was giving up on my commuter Cannondale CAADX frame, but decided to install new wheels. I chose Hope based on capacity to run them tubeless and reviews/recommendations on Hope hubs. However, I was a bit concerned about the weight as was getting 32 spokes to cope with the commute.I noticed the diff on the hubs the moment I took my commuter out of the store, soon discovering they roll fab, they just don't stop rolling, very easy to keep the bike up to speed and accelerations once at speed come without much effort.I mainly use the wheels for commuting on a tubeless set up and have had not issues so far. I have rediscovered my commuter bike and will now extend the live of the frame, it is now very comfortable and enjoyable to ride.

Solid wheels with smooth hubs
11 October 2020

Sturdy, well-built wheels with anodised hubs to match my bike. Not the lightest but arrived true and feel like they will stay that way. High quality hubs and the free hub body isn't too loud.
