Before the treadmill broke, I loved it. Was just what I needed, nothing fancy but got the job done. However, it broke after 1.5 years. It’s important to note, I was using it roughly two times a month. For such little wear, I was shocked it broke so soon. There are two incline levers on the front of the treadmill and one side stopped working, which meant trying to use incline made the treadmill running platform lopsided. Of course this happened right after the 1 year warranty ended. Horizon was unwilling to do anything about when I brought this to their attention. Would not recommend if you are looking for a reliable treadmill.

This is a good, basic treadmill if you're not looking for anything fancy. After getting this for Christmas, during the winter months in Maine I used it about 4 times a week for both running and walking. I personally don't mind switching the incline/pace when I'm doing a speed workout (about once per week) so it works well for my needs.I have two main complaints about this treadmill. I don't know if they're typical or if my experience is abnormal due to my home, etc so I've only removed one star but considered giving it three stars instead.Twice while walking and once while running the treadmill has just shut off, causing me to lurch forward and grab the support bars. Two years since purchasing my treadmill. Treadmill stops abruptly when using (if you are running it will cause you to fly forward into the display). Called service, they told me that this was common, and that there was a recall for this problem. They sent me instructions to upload a fix onto a flash drive and then download onto my treadmill. I followed all instructions, and was hopeful that this would fix the problem - no dice. Problem of stopping mid workout continued next use. Called service once again, and they set up yet another tech to come out to our home to have a look.Before the tech came to our home, I visited one of Horizons stores here in the Twin Cities (Johnson Fitness) to ask some questions. I explained my issues to the manager, he told me that the T101-5 treadmill is a walking treadmill, it is not made for running, and this was likely the reason I was having issues. Funny, since the website shows runners using this treadmill and advertises as such. I thought maybe this was just a fluke, so i decided to call 2 ohter Johnson Fitness stores here in the Twin Cities, and ask them the same questions - I got the same answers. The T101-5 is not a treadmill for running, and it is not a very good machine. Huh!Technician just left our home. Mother Board is fried, Regulator is fried, and cables are fried. Total cost to repair will be close to the original price of the treadmill. Technician said this machine is not a good machine - many issues.I have tried to reach out to someone at their corporate offices to help rectify my situation, and possibly be more help than their customer service (based outside of the US). Impossible. Only answer I have recieved is - Your machine is out of warranty.

I've had this treadmill for a few months now, and can say that this one works great in our home. I purchased this treadmill and a tablet so that I can watch news or youtube videos while working out. Just got the T101-07 today. Yes, was very easy to assemble as they say. I especially like the handle controls for speed and incline. This way I do not have to let go of the handles so my heart rate is uninterrupted. I did NOT want another device with a screen in my case. I prefer to use my own tablet. In my case I like listening to audio books or watching youtube videos on my own tablet so this was the perfect bike for me.It is heavy. I wish I had paid for delivery to my basement. I was at the very edge of being able to get it down to the basement and I can say I should not have done that. Everything worked out. I do lift weights.Very happy with the purchase.

I'm actually surprised they didn't figure it out when they were designing it, but functionality vs. design are always a sore spot with manufacturers and end-users. The first thing I would change are the bottle holders, they're too small and pretty much worthless. I can hardly fit a 3" round Contigo bottle on it and it's not a round space. Secondly, the speakers are at about hip height and face straight, not up. So, basically your music is getting blasted at your stomach and not up towards your ears so the sound isn't the greatest. Unfortunately, I now have two gripes. The first is that the motor stopped working after 1.5 years on me. I did the initial trouble shooting, and then found that customer service was pretty limited with how they could help me. After some more cumbersome troubleshooting, I was sent to a completely different company. The quote from them was $430 to fix the motor control board, which isn’t covered by warranty (motor is). The bolts were impossible to get off. I am not someone who is so strong that could have secured these bolts so firmly that soaking them with WD40 and then yanking on the Allen wrench with all my might shouldn’t have been able to loosen. I had really liked this machine, but would caution the purchase if you want it to last, or if you need to be able to move this through a standard door frame in the future. I ended up gifting it to the new home owners, and gratefully they are willing to take it.

I'm using an iPhone 8+ and it was connecting all the time I used the treadmill and then one day I get the message on my phone that it cannot connect to the treadmill Bluetooth. The phone can see the treadmill but won't connect. I tried resetting my phone and updating it but still no luck. I did some searches and found on Reddit other people who are having the same issue. This is so annoying and now I have to just listen to music using my phone speaker. Obviously there is an issue with the treadmill electronics. Finally, the heartrate monitor is way off. My fitness tracker is very accurate and when I compare it with the treadmill monitor the one on the treadmill is so much lower. Other than the issues I mentioned the treadmill seems to work good. Not sure if I'd purchase this model/brand again based on these issues.
T101 This treadmill only lasted 15 months before it started constantly overheating, which, considering the cost and difficult assembly process, is a massive rip-off. Despite lubricating the deck every 3 months in the past, I now can't get more than 10 minutes at a time without it completely shutting off (and I just used 3 bottles of silicon lubricant); my top speed is only 6 MPH, and I only run 1-2 hours per week. Only certain parts are covered under their lifetime warranty, and you'll still need to pay for labour (after a hefty diagnostic fee). Customer service suggested it was a firmware problem, which I've updated, to no effect. Avoid Horizon products at all costs.
I am really enjoying this treadmill. It was easy to assemble only taking about 20 minutes. It is extremely quiet and the console is easy to use with a variety of displays and different programs available depending on your goals. Love that it has a place for my water bottle, and to set my iPad so I can watch TV programs I have recorded while working out. Make sure to apply the lubrication under the belt as instructed before first use.... also very easy to do. I highly recommend this treadmill, and Canadian Tire for the outstanding service they provided to me. They went above and beyond.
