This is the first time that I have used any kind of hand warmers (aside from ordinary gloves and mitts), so I am unable to compare this product to anything else. These kept my palms somewhat warm, but my fingers remained very cold. However, my palms do not usually need much if any warming. I did not buy them to warm my palms. Also, because they take up a fair amount of room in the mitts, they make activities that require the use of hands, such as shovelling snow, a bit uncomfortable.Consequently, I have only tried using them twice, and then gave up.I have not yet tried using them in my boots. Perhaps they will be more effective there.

Ok hand warmers, could be better. I wore them up north on a job and they worked so long as you took your time to shake them. I found shaking them for a few minutes while intermittently massaging them to pack in the compound to activate it better seemed to gain better results. I would suggest wearing these with wool mittens, make sure you give the hand warmers enough time in the air to activate, there were times these would become too warm, which in -40 is not a bad thing! There are a lot of factors that can affect how long they last, including sweat, type of clove you put them in (is the glove insulated or thin) and how well you prep the hand warmer before use (shaking/exposing to air, massaging) If you are outside in the cold for extended periods of time, always ... I work in frozen food, I drive equipment in a -20 warehouse. If you've ever eaten a frozen chicken pot pie, chances are good that I loaded it on the truck. I'll start the day with toe warmers in both boots and within 2 hours I'll need to put hand warmers in both mittens. These little iron oxide heat packets are a GODSEND! It may sound odd but at -20, some days are not so bad... then other days, it's just ABSOLUTELY FRIGID!!!7-12 hour days, 6-7 days a week Hot Hands will keep you warm!
Bought these toe warmers for my family's trip to the 2022 Winter Classic in Minneapolis. With multiple sets of warmers in use over the course of a full day, we found these toe warmers didn't produce enough heat to be truly helpful, even with insulated boots. A larger problem was that the warmers only had two narrow strips of adhesive to stick to the bottoms of your socks. When slipping your feet into your boots the toe warmers often pulled loose sliding toward the middle or back of our feet, thereby not keeping our TOES warm! Inadequate adhesive and marginal heating. In the future, I would try either the full insole warmers or another brand of toe warmers. These just weren't effective. Better than nothing, but only by a little.
We had a terrible storm two years ago with sub-freezing temps and a statewide power outage. Last year I got a small breed puppy, and one of my biggest worries was how to protect him if we ever have an event like that again. In November, before winter had really set in here in Texas, I ordered a big pack of HotHands. Never used them before, but I just hoped they'd work as well as they claimed.Well, an ice storm hit, and add I type this review, power's been out for 80 hours. First couple of days we had freezing temps, too, so I broke out the HotHands for my dog. A few of these under a thin blanket made a warm, comfy bed for him in this shivery cold. And they each stayed hot for over 12 hours! Once I saw how well they worked for him, I went ahead and used one for my ... And they each stayed hot for over 12 hours! Once I saw how well they worked for him, I went ahead and used one for my own freezing fingers.Since then, I've learned from other pet parents that they're using HotHands to get small dogs, cats, and even pet snakes and lizards through this power outage and freeze. I'm sold. I'm keeping lots of these on hand from now on!
First of all, they arrived in a reasonable amount of time and appeared exactly as pictured in the listing. What can I say about Hot Hands that hasn't been said before. They are inexpensive and reliable to keep you going through the cold. In my experience, the time they claim is kind of Give or Take and hour. But they definitely get HOT!These are a must have to keep in the glove box of the car or in a purse or backpack for any time that you find yourself a bit colder than you expected. Prevent hypothermia before it happens! It's also a good idea to keep a couple in a first aid kit too.Fishing, Hiking, Camping; Hot Hands always come with me! As I'm aging, I find that the temperature in many of the places I go to be uncomfortably cold. And that's in the summer! I spend a lot of pleasurable time sitting, Zooming, reading or listening to a performance or lecture. So, now with the temperature dropping, I pile on sweaters, wear fuzzy warm sox and even wear fingerless gloves in those places. Using HotHands, I expose the little hand warmers to the air in advance. Then in a few minutes, my hands are warm and I can experience events in comfort. Highly recommended to warm cold hands
My hands are always cold in winter weather despite the thickness and quality of my gloves or mittens. In very cold weather, I can also suffer from "ice cream" headaches despite the quality of my winter hats. A friend who also suffers from the cold recommended Grabber Hand Warmers that he buys in these large value packages. He definitely gave me good advice. Given that these hand warmers can be very warm, I usually insert one between an inner light wool glove and an outer heavier winter glove. To keep my head warm. I insert one between a wool skull cap (like the one you might wear under your bike helmet in colder weather) and my heavier winter "Trapper" style hat. These methods of keeping warm may sound a bit weird, but they make it possible to enjoy winter ... Easy order and definitely worth the price. I use them throughout the entire winter and also for cramps throughout the year. I work with kids and these are for amazing at keep us warm, I pass them out shortly before leaving for the bus stop. They’re warm by the time we get there and then the kids aren’t frozen by the time buses arrive. They also work perfectly for cramps. I have the worst cramps, usually throwing up, headaches, not really able to do much. I’ve found heat works well enough I can handle it, so these work so I can still move about with out having to buy an expensive heating contraption.
