I've had a Babyliss Pro 1.25 inch iron for nearly 10 years and it just died on me last week. I bought this in May 2022 and am writing this in June 2024. I hadnt used this iron too much because I was better at using my flat iron to curl. I recently rediscovered it in the closet and enjoyed using it again only a handful of times before it suddenly died. I plug it in and the screen never lights up. It starts to get a little warm but doesnt actually turn on anymore. Sucks to have to replace it already when I barely used it.

This is SO strange because my hair usually holds a curl beautifully on its own. With this device, the curls would fall within an hour. I tried it with dofferent hear settings, tried different hold products, different syling products, etc. I tried everything. Ive been using this for almost a year and it still doesnt hold a curl no matter what i do. This never happened to me with any other device. And judging from these reviews, im not alone. I wouldn't recommend this tool.

So bummed! I wanted to live this curling iron! When it worked it was amazing - made beautiful long lasting curls! I loved the temp controls - users need to understand that higher temp doesnt always mean better - this WILL burn your hair! But alas! As much as I wanted to love this curling iron, it suddenly stopped working. I've only had it for 1 year - it DEFINITELY should have lasted longer than that! I used it intermittently - I have plenty of other hair implements at my disposal. That said, this curling iron should have lasted much longer than the paltry 12 months I owned it. To the trash it goes. No more hot tools for me. Ever.

Now for the curling iron and how it performs. It heats very quickly, which I love. I hate having to wait for my tools to warm when I'm in a hurry to get ready. It is lightweight and easy to hold, so it doesn't tire my arm as quickly as others I've used. The clamp is of good quality and easy to use. It has good spring to it, if that makes sense. As for the curls, it gives beautiful spiral curls that are shiny and bouncy. My hair typically doesn't hold curl very well, however with this, it seems to hold longer than it normally does. I'm very impressed with this curling iron and I look forward to trying more by HOT TOOLS! I definitely recommend!
