Wayyyyy bigger than we thought it was going to be. We just got done setting it up (it’s a surprise for Christmas morning tomorrow) and we played with it for a solid 20 minutes. Our son is going to absolutely love it. The only problem is that during assembly quite a few pieces came broken/smashed/bent so we have to return it and get a new one which is disappointing since it was a Christmas gift. If it wasn’t the track that was smashed I wouldn’t bother returning it but the cars can’t go down the lane properly with it being broken. Other than that we couldn’t be happier with it.

I'm assuming this is a toy that will be carried for years. And I expect Mattel to make improvements. But for these very first ones that were produced, there are some issues. Most importantly, that it is very difficult to take apart or switch between the two layouts. I would honestly suggest deciding which layout you want to use and plan to leave it set up that way for weeks or longer. I got some of the stubborn pieces apart by pushing on them with a screwdriver. There is one piece that doesn't even have a little tab. You snap the two pieces together and they're stuck. Also, there is a feature near the end where cars trigger "items" that can block random racers. There is a switch to turn it off, so if you want to race without some cars randomly being stopped you can. ... MoreI'm assuming this is a toy that will be carried for years. You can however remove that section entirely, it's only about one foot of the whole layout. Aside from those issues, it's awesome. I could say 15 things that I love about it, but it's the flaws that need to be shared.

I got one of these for my son’s birthday and during the build, discovered the pieces to connect the curved parts to the stands were not connecting right. I ended up having to just let them kind of rest on the stands. It kept falling over with the slightest movement. We got frustrated enough that we called Mattel. They sent us a new one and the parts fit much better. So glad my son can now play with this and enjoy it vs having to constantly pick it back up.
