This has become my favorite lipstick/gloss. I’ve never seen a better MLBB shade, and I’ve tried so, so many. I’m Asian with light skin and yellow undertones. Most nude colors look bluish and sickly on me (Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk, Urban Decay Backtalk). Nude shades geared toward medium-darker skin tones tend to have too much brown. They make my teeth look yellow. Not Slip! Hourglass knocked this out of the park with the formula. It’s the best consistency out of the other stick glosses out there. The formula feels closest to Tarte’s and Mario’s stick glosses. You can enjoy a meal without worrying whether you look like you’re missing part of your lipstick. The formula is forgiving, too. It goes on nicely even if your lips are a little dry and flaky. Let’s face it—we don’t have time to exfoliate our lips in the morning! As for the plumping claims…I don’t see a difference. I can feel the mint. It’s refreshing, but it doesn’t plump like the lip glosses that irritate your lips. This lip gloss is expensive for the amount you get.it’s 100% worth it for me though because I have such a hard time finding a good MLBB shade. Between that and the lovely formula, I will continue to buy Slip. I also have Haze, but it looks just like Clinique’s Black Honey on my lips. Caution: this lip gloss is not retractable. It’s tempting to click it all the way up to see the amount of product but don’t.

This is the best lio product ever. It's a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss. It applies like a dream and goes on so smoothly. It's very moisturizing and makes your lips feel ultra hydrated. It's not sticky at all! I love the plumbing effect that it gives without a strong tingle. The color payoff is great! It's not too dark or overpowering but it definitely gives a lovely color to the lips and incredible shine. A little goes a long way. It lasts a few hours on the lips, and even longer with a lip liner underneath. The packaging is beautiful- as always with Hourglass products. It looks so luxurious in my makeup collection. I can't say enough great things about this lip product! I've already ordered more colors. Try it- you won't be disappointed.

A beautiful wash of color with a flattering shine.
15 August 2023

This is such a lovely wash of color that I find this kind of formulation is much more versatile than the typical lipstick. You can change the look just by using a different lip liner but this is such an easy to use product in the fact you don't really have to be looking when you're applying since it spreads but not a messy, run away, slip texture. I don't find these sticky either but I don't have long hair to truly test if it's sticky in that regards. This does have a slight tingle but it's like a gentle kiss compared to the Too Faced lip injection formula. I wish this rolled back down but it's not easy to get too much product out at once so it's pretty easy. This shade in particular is just a nice brown that isn't gray cool but not as warm as like a chocolate brown.

GIRL!!! I waited forever to get this product just because I couldn't justify spending so much money on a lippie. I finally got a little bit of extra spending money so I just caved in and got three. I was so excited to try these because the swatches were amazing in the store. They are so melty and pigmented I just knew they were going to be very moisturizing for my very dry lips. I was completely wrong! They are plumping which I didn't know otherwise I wouldn't have bought them. They go on to the lips beautifully but I kid you not, I was literally just sitting in the car on the way home after buying these doing nothing not eating or drinking or even talking much, and by the time I got home it had disappeared from my lips. It was about a 50 minute drive. Not only that, my lips work extremely dried out from this product! I gave it another day and try to work with it but I simply had to return this to Sephora. This is the first product that I had bought that I had ever returned. It was just that bad for me.

Beautiful Finish
5 September 2023

The finish is very, very nice. Its very glossy, hydrating and pretty. Additionally, I really like how the product looks on its own - I doubt you'll need any other lip products to use in conjunction with this - it shines on its own.Because of the way lip balms perform, in which this product is, I do find that it doesn't last too long (approx. 30min). Thus, you need to reapply as often as you would a lip balm. And while it does wear quickly, I believe this is where people get mixed up. They expect the product to behave differently to a balm because of how the tube looks. Additionally, I don't find that it applies patchy or pills, like other users have mentioned.Overall, I think I will be repurchasing again solely because, while yes, you may need to reapply ... MoreThe finish is very, very nice. I guess it depends on how often you would like to reapply and/or whether that is a deal breaker for you, for the price tag.

Beautiful product, but beware of how little you ge
29 November 2022

This product is a 5/5 in terms of the formula and the shade - the color Slip is the perfect coral brown nude shade for medium skin tones, the color seems to leave a little bit of a stain, and the formula is really moisturizing and plumping. I also love the applicator, it's really chic and sleek. However, the quantity you get is RIDICULOUSLY small, it's under 2 grams. I went through this probably after just 1-2 months of consistent use. For a balmy formula of course you have to frequently re-apply, so I can't believe they put in such a tiny amount of product for the price (the amount isn't listed when you purchase btw, I only saw this when I ran through it ridiculously quickly and checked the quantity on the bottom). There are other glossy lip balms that give you almost twice as much product for a fraction of the price.

Great balms, questionable design
29 September 2023

I now have the colours Lucid, Mist, and Slip. I love them! Especially for something balmy for running out the door or an online meeting. Lucid is a warm tomatoey red. Mist is a warming pale pink which lifts my whole face. Slip will be a winter fave with its deeper shade. All colours are sheer. There’s a minty smell and a tingly feeling, the glow helps my lips look 3D but I wouldn’t say my lips have more volume. Points deducted for packaging though. You can’t retract the product like a normal lipstick, and if you glide it over lips the product goes over the tip and collects around the sides. Just seems a waste. So I press and dab the colour instead.

I saw a video of someone use the shade Lure and it looked stunning. Lo and behold those videos with this lip product in it went viral and it was sold out everywhere. When it finally came back into stock I managed to buy it in the new year and it did not disappoint. I love berry tone lipsticks. They’re incredibly complimentary on medium tones and with anyone with dark hair. I’ve only worn it once and would recommend a lip liner for that full coverage look but if it’s just a one swipe wear no lip liner is fine. There’s a slightly tingle on application but nothing extreme or unbearable. Can’t wait to get my hands on other shades. The fact that it’s vegan has also sold me! Hourglass are killing it!

Not worth it
4 February 2023

I bought this recently (colour Lure) and although it is pretty, i feel like it is so overhyped for a product that is not actually that great... It applies unevenly but you can blend it out with your lip. To even get a good colour pay off you need to use so much product. You'll probably use it up so quickly because of that. One swipe honestly barely gives you colour pay off. It has this almost tingly, minty feeling which i dont mind and it does feel nice and soft on the lips. Other comments have mentioned clinging to dry patches but I havent noticed anything.Overall for a $50 lip product, it is DEFINITELY not worth the price point and you could probably achieve the same look at home with other lip products.Influencers definitely wouldnt tell us about these cons..
