All right printer a little slow, but easy to set up and sync with many devices

I had a little issue setting up and it was quickly resolved but switching it off and on at the mains. The sleek design works well in my open-plan space, I was able to put is behind by sofa on the sideboard and connect with different devices around the flat. I have had bigger devices that only printed and did not scan. My main issue is with the ink. Everyone knows this is one of the most expensive parts of printing at home, to overcome this, I usually refill my ink cartridges. My initial observation, it likely you will only be able to refill the black and would have to continually repurchase the color, as all the colors are combined in one cartridge. If this is an issue for you HP, has an instant ink service and will send you ink when there is a notification that your cartridges are getting low. The price starts from a few pounds and the good thing there is no distinction between the color and the black ink. Ive printed with different size paper and different finishes with no issue, although I do think this is a great addition to the home it probably wont be suitable if its intended use was mass printing on a large scale.

I had to troubleshoot and set up the connections all over again nearly every time I tried to use it. To top it off, for the past month it’s been jamming itself by feeding paper crooked with every single print job, rendering it useless. It will not print even one line of a single page—and of course, it decided to do this just after I installed 2 brand new HP print cartridges. Keep your receipt and the box if you decide to take a chance on this one; they seem to be designed to self-destruct after just one year. It is great for general printing around your home or, if you are like me, printing screenshots off your phone. Give this printer a try!

Great home or SOHO printer
21 October 2020

This is a great little printer for home use or light business use. As I’ve seen from others the initial setup requires a smartphone and seems a bit awkward to me...and I work in technology. I think HP wanted to make initial setup easy, but the app (at least on Android) just seems like it requires more steps then necessary. My initial interest in this printer was more for the scanner then the printer as I’m slowly digitizing important documents and old pictures. As for important documents it does the job, but there is no feeder for multiple pages, so if you’re scanning multiple pages it will be a bit slow since you need to open the cover and put in the new page to scan (applies for faxing as well). As for important documents it does the job, but there is no feeder for multiple pages, so if you’re scanning multiple pages it will be a bit slow since you need to open the cover and put in the new page to scan (applies for faxing as well). As for scanning pictures it does a great job capturing the quality of old pictures that I can later upload to an imaging editing software. What I really do like about this printer is that you can control a number of its functions from the built-in web interface so no special software or drivers needed for that. I’m not big into printing things, maybe a couple of pages a month and the few prints I did were fast and look great. But I will be curious to see if over time the ink cartridges dry up which has always been a problem for me due to limited printing. Also, frustrating (and it’s not just HP) is the included cartridges won’t print as many pages as the replacement ones basically the razor blade model. But if you will be printing a lot it might be a good idea to buy spare cartridges, fortunately price for the spares are reasonable. Also, the built-in webpage will show ink levels and there is a small info screen on the printer itself that shows ink levels, something I didn’t have with past printers. Printing itself is fine, but this is not screaming printer in terms of speed, home use it’s does the job, but not really recommended as a business printer with lots of printing taking place! Lastly the printer is a wi-fi printer, but for those that need to attached directly there is a USB Type B connector, but no cable is provided in the box, so plan on that as an additional item should you need one. So, for those of us working at home more due to COVID, this is a great SOHO printer or for school kids that need to scan/print stuff out this will fit the bill!

HP printer is a pain without setup ink Cartridge
15 December 2020

I am just giving 2 stars. Tech support wasn't any help and a major component the printer needed wasn't in the box. That component was the startup printer cartridge, without it...you pretty much have a expensive paper weight. I tried the bypass feature but that didn't work either. Talk to HP and they instant said return it to retailer. Then the last one said ok ill do a replacement, he did give me the bypass instruction for the printer. I just told him I'm just returning it and getting a new epson. Since one I wouldn't need the startup cartridge bit and hate the thought to keep that around if I needed to re setup the printer. Since the printer that died and needed to be replaced was a 7 year old epson. Only reason it got the 2 stars was at least part of the setup was ok, just the rest not so much and I will not be going with HP ever again. Experience was awful between tech and not having what was suppose to be included in the package. who ever thought of the startup cartridge to setup a new printer. Ya that wasn't a good idea what so ever, because your printer is dead in the water without it especially if the workaround bypass doesn't work. Maybe was my luck I picked up the only one that the startup ink cartridge was missing in action. All it had was its packaging to protect the printer and a power cord nothing else. I used all my Tech knowledge to get it to work and the thing sounded awful when it tried to go. When I compare it to my old epson that up in till last night ran just fine and you can barely hear it when it printed. This HP it was really loud. So ya gave me a reason to stick with epson one it lasted long and two they never started the need for a special ink cartridge to set up the printer. Seems like it was only HP that started that nonsense and your hosed if you misplace that startup cartridge if yo had to reset up the HP printer.

Junk, won't connect, prints terribly, etc.
29 March 2022

Piece of garbage. Took a day to get it connected, then when router was changed, I couldn't get it back online no matter what I did, or how many "troubleshootings" or resets, etc. Cheap, flimsy. Said I had plenty of ink, but just stopped printing black - no warning. Not to mention that it prints with strange margins no matter whata I set the settings for - cuts off, off balance, etc. Scanner is not flatbed (obviously), so cannot use with small items. Just junk. Do not buy!

Lisa's review of HP DeskJet 2722e All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer with HP Plus
13 June 2022

Pros: I found it very easy to set up. I used the smartphone app to set it up, then downloaded the software onto my laptop and linked it that way. Very easy to use. Cons: It can take a couple of minutes for my phone to register that the printer is switched on when I try to print remotely. I switched it on and off a few times before realising I just had to wait and be patient! That might just be down to my my 5 year old iphone though.

I had an HP printer for many years that was very inexpensive which only printed via USB/wires. When it died I needed a replacement. I am 76 yo and a little challenged with this new age technology. With the automatic ink program I do not worry about running out of ink, looking for the right cartridges, and being left in a bind without ink. The app shows my printing history and billing information. The only Con is: it does not hold legal size paper only 8½" x 11" or smaller. I have told many people about this printer; I love it! I recommend this for anyone that has small printing jobs to do. KAS

This is a great little printer for the occasional print job when you need color. The instant ink option will make it very convenient because you will never run out of ink. I didn't do the test page. But, I did print a pdf file that I had on my smartphone. This printer did a great job. It was relatively quiet and quick. The small footprint allows this to fit nicely on a table. With the convenience of Wifi, you can have the printer across the room from your computer or smartphone. I highly recommend this product.
