Got this printer from a friend during lockdown 2 1/2 years ago. I connect it to my HP laptop using USB cable, so I've never had a problem there.The only trouble I've had has been static electricity which causes the paper to stick together and misfeed.The solution is canned air.Remove the toner cartridge and spray the main roller and the general area. Then do the other rollers - that should do the trick.

A good choice for the money

Considering what this all-in-one cost, I consider it a good value. Fairly quiet and does what it's supposed to do. There is a lack of instructions and needs a good user manual. Now I had a paper user manual with my old Brother all-in-one and that was like 250 pages! Anyway, I am giving this unit 4 stars and consider it a very good purchase for the money. I should note here that I am using it as a stand alone unit, not connected to any network or Windows. It's not the best all-in-one and doesn't pretend to be, certainly not at this price, but it works! Yes, and like I said, pretty quiet and gets the jobs done. All of what I need in a home printer for work

This HP printer is high quality and checks off everything I needed for a printer to use at home while working remotely. It is larger than my last HP all-in-one printer, so I will have to reconfigure my shelves and cabinet where I have it stored, but that is a small matter. The price is fair for what you get here, and it is HP quality, which is a plus and still means something to me! I cannot speak to how long the ink cartridge lasts since I just installed it last week and have only used it a few times. But it works for what I need and that's what matters! The only "improvement" I would suggest to HP is aesthetic and true of nearly all HP products -- I would have liked the option to purchase a black or gray exterior color printer than this stark white one. Is it just me or do you like to coordinate your technology and room as well? Take note, HP: you need to offer the same printer in white, black, gray/silver. Why not!? That is one step closer to HP perfection!

Continuous frustrations

This unit is a nightmare of connectivity issues. Will not stay connected via wifi for any length of time and there is never knowing what document will print from one session to the next or even within minutes of each other. The unit is continually disconnecting, going off line or otherwise unreachable. Connecting via the usb is also fraught with unknown issues. I tried to connect via my network router dedicated printer connection and some machines will connect and others will not. I have never in my life experienced a worse printer. HP support is worthless and a never ending wormhole of ineffective service.Additionally, something is miss-aligned in the machine so copies can come out slightly askew. Great bang for the buck

Love this thing! I needed a printer that could print packing slips, shipping labels, etc. quickly and efficiently. I had been through a couple of inkjet models that literally drank expensive ink like it was water! I vented my frustrations to dear hubby and he brought this gem home. We're just now finishing the first toner I purchased...probably two years ago! So much better than all that ink I was using. Sheet feeding scanner/copier is an extra bonus! I use the printer every day for my online business and have also used it to scan documents to PDF for mortgage refinancing, taxes, etc.This printer hasn't been without its frustrations...but that may just be our wonky wireless network. Have had to reinstall the drivers more than once in the last couple of years that ... MoreLove this thing! Great printer for chromebook use

I just purchased this today, so cannot speak to the longevity of it, but so far I am very satisfied. Love the touch screen control panel, something I have never had in my home printer before. It is definitely the nicest printer we have ever owned. I spent quite a lot of time researching online before buying. I have purchased a few cheap ink jets over the past few years and thought it was time to buy something better quality that will hopefully last us a bit longer. Biggest issue for me was that, as of just recently, we no longer use any Windows PC's in our house. All we have now is my Asus Chromebook flip (which is awesome) and a cheap tablet. I did not have this problem with this printer. I was able to set it up using the printer's touch screen control panel and my Chromebook no problem. I was also concerned about whether I would be able to scan to my Chromebook (particularly using the ADF) but I was able to set it up to scan directly to my Google Drive (easily) and to email (this was more difficult to set up, but I was eventually able to figure it out). A secondary issue for me in choosing was cost savings. I was sick of how much ink jet cartridges cost. I researched some of the new Ecotank printers, but we print so little I was concerned about the ink drying out before we ever would use it all, plus those were more expensive than I wanted to spend, so ended up deciding to go monochrome laser. Time will tell if we regret not having colour printing, but we print so little I think it should be okay.

The touchscreen has been unresponsive at times. It fails to recognize some of my presses. And, it is mounted at an angle that makes it difficult to press the desired option. The size is a little small, but have used printers with smaller screens than this and over time, you get used to it. I do like that the screen is in color, so it makes it easier to read and see. But it's not a deal breaker when it comes to the operation of the printer. The printer allows you to print using HP's E-printing and also wirelessly form any mobile device. I had no issues with connecting to my laptops and IPhone and they both worked perfectly. You're able to print up to 23 pages per minute, depending on the quality you want them to be printed. I have been happy with the speed and also have yet to have one paper jam, which I had issues with before this printer. You are able to use regular paper, envelopes, photo paper and post cards. I have used all of these and again, no jams, which is nice. The scanner has been working as expected, no issues with images or text being wrong or not included in any documents scanned so far. I have printed different types of documents from my desktops, laptops and IPhone, again all printed exactly as the document or webpage content was sent to the printer with nothing missing or not printed correctly. The fax is easy to use, has automatic redialing and for me I am happy with the speed that it sends pages. The print quality is very nice from the unit. I have not seen any variation when printing multiple page documents or larger quantities of a single document. The printer can hold up to 50 pages of paper, which meets our office needs. It also can hold up to 100 pages of printer material. I also want to mention the auto document feeder. It can hold up to 35 pages. It has been working perfectly, no paper jams and pulls the papers in the order they were stacked in. If you're looking for a monochrome all in one printer for your office and don't want one that takes up a lot of space, this is one you should consider. I like HP's ink, in this case toner, it produces consistent quality and color tone for every printed document. This all in one connects to all your mobile devices, saves on operating costs and runs smoothly. It doesn't have an auto duplexer, but not a deal breaker because it's not something I would use often anyway. I did not give it 5 stars because of the issues I had with the LCD screen. Other than that, I really have not experienced any other problems and am happy with how the printer works and especially the print quality

Regret purchasing this printer

Sometimes it has issues even printing a file so it will stop half way through and start reprinting it from the start wasting paper and ink. The scanner is slow. At this moment i have been trying to print 1 document for an hour. This happens regularly. I wish I had not spent my money on this printer. I paid extra to have HP being told that it was worth the money. It was not. I keep it because returning it is too much effort during Covid and I need something for work. I can't afford to not have a printer for any period of time. If you are looking for quality, i would suggest purchasing something else. Set-up and installation was easy for me. I always take the time to read through the instructions/installation guides before unpacking the rest of the items. I had no problems at all connecting to my home WiFi Ă˘â‚Źâ€œ signal was always strong and never lost connection. Set-up took me about 45 minutes give or take.I really like that it is compact and does not take up too much space in my office, nor does it stand out like an eye sore like some printers do. The printer is set up right next to my laptop docking station and it leaves plenty of room on my desk for other items.I do wish the screen size was a tad bigger though. I've decided for the occasional times I need colour printing or fax, I would gladly trade a trip to Staples for the reliability this machine provides. No more dried out cartridges and inkjet head issues. Set-up was easy if you've had experience and are patient enough to confirm each step. WIFI requires that you have your network pass handy and are careful with the printer screen input as it is not built for fat fingers. Once you get the code in it's easy. I have owned the machine for about 24 hours and can say after leaving it in standby mode for 20 of them it printed a full sheet of text via WIFI in 10 seconds. So far?
