I think this is a great laptop. I use chess engines that go faster with a powerful processor or a high-end graphics card. This computer has both and Leela Chess Zero runs at 50 kilonodes/sec, while Stockfish runs at about 13 meganodes/sec on 20 threads. It's relatively quiet, even when the fan is working hard. I saw reviews which mentioned a wobbly or flimsy display panel: this hasn't been a problem for me as I don't touch the display panel. I would recommend this computer to friends and family.

Returned it due to touchpad being physically faulty. While investigating this issue, found this is a common complaint with HP mid-range laptops.

Returned it due to touchpad being physically faulty. While investigating this issue, found this is a common complaint with HP mid-range laptops.
I received my new laptop 12/24 on 12/26 itt said i needed to calibrate the battery. I tried 3 times. My brother-in-law who works I.T. tried once. The computer wouldn't download the diagnostic tool. Called customer support and all they did was have me send it back 12/28. Now its been a week with no word from HP. I'm weary because this recalibration is supposed to be done every 3 months.
screen is super clear and super fast processing. Laptop is sturdy and very well done in general. Good looking laptop too.
HP were excellent during the purchase process. Great after sales service assisting me with an issue I had. The item I purchased was exactly what I wanted. I am more than happy with my purchase. I would recommend this product not just for gaming.
Just what I was looking for, my only issue would be if the same specs(i7,3070) came with a 1440p display would have been perfect but the 1080p display slaps as well. I'm gonna connect it to a 1440p monitor anyway.
Easy to set up. Omen hub useful to force the use of discrete graphics (3070ti). Hinges could do with a redesign, screen does flap around when you have the laptop in your lap.
I’m not sure if I need to change a setting or if it’s my game. On my old laptop I am able to play this certain pc game and it isn’t blurry but when I play it on the HP Omen 16.1 my graphics are blurry and it also hurts my eyes due to trying to focus on the screen while it’s blurry. Also, the chat box in the box is not as clear as well. The letters look to be closer to each other than my previous laptop. The internet connection seems to be better than my old laptop but it still doesn’t play as fast as I would like but that may be because of my internet or the game servers.I tried going to HP Support to see if there was a setting I could change to make the game not blurry but the HP Support assistant wasn’t helpful.
The laptop is definitely more than just decent specs. It has better value for promotional price and upgradeable. Smooth framerate and adjustable fan speed to cool down your laptop without use of external fans. Worth every penny.
