I work in IT and have set up hundreds of printers over time including many models of HP from officejets to large multi-function printers taking up a whole room. HP products have been progressively getting easier and more intuitive until this one and it seems to be a step backwards by multiple generations. Haven't yet used it much. but seems to print ok.But importantly - I purchased this as I thought it would be better for the environment but it still has a myriad of plastic wrapping and parts which get discarded. Not sure it is much better than an inkjet if you refill the cartridges. Operating costs look to be cheaper but who knows how long various other parts will last. Good printer, but software is horrible

So, this printer is good. It would be nice if it had a document feeder at the rear for say photo printing, and would be nice if it had duplex scanning. At this price point, they should be included. To get around the duplex scanning, you can download HP scan app, which prompts you to scan one side through the ADF, reinsert the pages, scan the second side, and it will auto arrange the pages. This software is pretty horrible. So I found NAPS2 free open source scanner software, which does the same, and is much nicer to use.The HP software is horrible. Be it on Android or PC.. I worked this out around 6 hours after starting to set up the printer. You will need to do some split tunneling and change some settings in your vpn software to be able to use the printer AND be connected to your VPN. This was never an issue with my previous printer. There is nothing to prompt that the VPN is the problem - most of the printer works - but scan from phone wouldn't work, it would just say the feature is not available on this printer.I chose this over the say the Epson, as this has easily replacable print heads which will inevitably clog. The Epson are hard to remove comparatively, and I was unable to find any to buy locally..Print quality is ok. I get some banding if printing photos with large areas of blue - eg sky, water..It is nice and quiet, and quick to start printing.Filling tanks and inserting print heads is easy.Good, basic printer, at a premium price for the refillable ink tanks.

I was very happy with the ease of purchase, as I purchased it over the phone. The young man who took my order was extremely helpful, I was very surprised at the small cost of delivery although it did take longer than originally suggested. It is not as user friendly as my previous printer, however I have managed to get it working and the quality is great . I’m happy with my purchase and interactions with staff. Thanks.

Nice compact and low cost to run.
28 July 2023

Very nice and compact printer, only didn't make the 5 stars as it's a bit slow to power up (if not left turned on). Print speed is ok if not super fast (compared to some of the best inkjets), but the VERY LOW ink cost is what we wanted. Nice looking unit too. Does duplex also handy to save costs
