TLDR: If you play long sessions in VR, you'll need some extra bits, outta the box works great, for a couple hours!I am part of the VR playerbase that likes to play MASSIVELY long sessions in vr, I'm talking like 6-8 hours at a time, this can pose an issue for the wireless adapter--heat.If you play with the stock battery that last about 1.5-2 hours, you'll be fine. But if you fit in the same category as me, buy some fans! The only other issue I have is I can't really lay down very easily without choking out the fans I have attached to the antenna, but again, this is my special use-case.If you have a Vive and just HATE your cable, then I would totally give this a shot!

Installation wasn't super easy, but it works great. Sometimes have to manually divert sound to the headset, and if the headset goes to sleep I have to reboot the wireless/steam. Otherwise, great purchase!
Great product worked right way. Was awesome to eliminate the cable from the link box and PC. No more twisting of the cable. I had one issue with the USB from the battery to Wireless transmitter for the HMD. I bought a new one and works perfectly. Battery does take about 2 hours to charge, even with the Qualcomm QC 3.0 certified charger and USB cable. Overall i am loving it so much better than wired.
When I use it, I use the A/C in the summer to keep the room temperature down.Using Cosmos Elite with the i7-8700K.Hyper-threading is better than On.The battery has about 2 hours of use.The openness of the wireless upgrades the VR experience several times over.
The good:-When it's setup, its works great. No noticeable lag or delay and it's light enough to forget it's even there. It also has no impact on the visual quality of games, minus one small issue I will note later.-Installation is simple with easy to follow directions, though it does require installing a small PCI-e card in your PC, which may be an issue for people not comfortable opening their PC to mess about. Installing the card itself just requires inserting it into the slot, there is no internal wiring to worry about.-The battery slides into a holster that clips onto your belt instead of your head like other adapters, so moving your head around quickly is no more of a problem than it was before.-It replaces the problematic dongle that the Vive normally ... MoreThe good:-When it's setup, its works great. It also has no impact on the visual quality of games, minus one small issue I will note later.-Installation is simple with easy to follow directions, though it does require installing a small PCI-e card in your PC, which may be an issue for people not comfortable opening their PC to mess about. Installing the card itself just requires inserting it into the slot, there is no internal wiring to worry about.-The battery slides into a holster that clips onto your belt instead of your head like other adapters, so moving your head around quickly is no more of a problem than it was before.-It replaces the problematic dongle that the Vive normally uses so you get that power outlet back and now all you need is a small camera looking device that connects to the PCI-e card you install in your PC and can be mounted wherever you like as long as its pointed at you. (it's not a camera, it just looks like one for the privacy conscious). Now for the bad.-The battery life is a joke, a big joke. The included 9750 mah (mah is the capacity, milliamp hour) battery will get you around 2 hours...hours not days of play time on a full charge and take the better part of a day to recharge, and I used a 3.1 amp quick charger.-You can use any USB battery pack but only if it supports the now outdated QuickCharge (QC) 3.0 or 4.0 standard and supports at least 21 watts for output, most are only 18 watts however and will not work with the Cosmos version. Higher wattage output is ok, but must be at least 21 watts. QC3/4 packs are generally not sold or stocked anywhere anymore, but can be found occasionally, or on sites like eBay for around $30-60 depending on capacity. I would personally recommend the Anker PowerCore Speed (model number A1278 for the 20000 mah version). It works perfectly and even fits in the stock battery belt holster. Just double check that it is the QC one as they all look similar. I have used the 20000 mah pack for 5 hours (with short breaks) and had no issues.-Having the wireless adapter causes games to more aggressively scale their resolution, at least on SteamVR. It doesn't impact performance that I have noticed and goes away quickly, but the blocky effect can be a little jarring if you don't expect it.-The adapter can get pretty hot. You don't feel it directly on your head and it cools down quickly, but it could be disconcerting to someone not expecting it. This is normal and not a cause for concern.-The cable that runs from the adapter to the headset is way too long and will have to be folded or zip tied to the back of the headset to keep it from flopping around. Depending on your waist to head distance, the battery cable will require some similar shortening for the same reasons.-It requires yet another piece of software to run along with the several others you need already to play VR games. The Vive wireless software is small, but must be running for the headset to even turn on.-And of course, there is the price. As with most VR accessories, it is not cheap. For the price, I would have expected a better battery, however you get an experience that other headsets cannot deliver at the Vive level of quality without Facebook requirements. All in all, if you are willing to spend the money (plus a little extra for a real battery), it can really change how you play VR. Not having to devote some brain power to remembering where the cable is and if its time to step over it is incredible.
