The magic of Bottled Elixir begins with its top notes of Cardamom and Frankincense, providing a burst of exotic spiciness that is both invigorating and intriguing. The heart notes follow, with the earthy blend of Patchouli and Vetiver bringing a rich depth to the fragrance. The base notes of Labdanum and Cedar round out the scent, offering a warm and woody finish that lingers on the skin.

This claims to be a highly concentrated ambery woody fragrance that combines warm incense top notes (Frankincense and Cardamom), middle notes of Vetiver and Patchouli, and base notes of Labdanum and Cedar. I always hate writing reviews for fragrances. I’m not a pro when it comes to fragrances, and fragrances always smell different on everyone. So it’s hard to describe them. When I first spray this, I can smell a kind of warm incense type smell that is kind of spicy but slightly sweet too, but to me it also has a powdery scent to it that I’m not a fan of. After that, I smell a touch of freshness, but it’s just a hint of it. Not too grassy or earthy smelling. But, I still smell the powdery scent to it as well. But to me, it doesn’t smell like an an “ambery woody fragrance.” Overall, it smells more like incense with a strong powdery smell to it. It has strong sillage, so some might find it a bit overpowering. A little goes a long way! It has good lasting power too. It lasted all day where at the end of the day I was still smelling it myself and others could smell it as well. Since I do smell the notes described in it but don’t get the overall description of the scent, I’m giving it 4 stars. Like I said before, scents are different on everyone. But, I’d recommend testing this out beforehand if you don’t like anything with a powdery scent to it, because for me the powdery scent is pretty strong overall.

First off, this was sent to me for free from influenster incenivized for review. Free or not, I give my take unswayed by price. Elixirs are the new craze in the fragrance world, so it was no surprise the Hugo had to join in. This was a nice change in pace from the usual suspects in the Boss Bottles line. I have 10 different scents from the line and this one takes a nice dark dense turn. Unlike quite a few other companies, Hugo Boss didn't go into the over sweet route with this one. Instead of the youthful bubblegum, this one goes a little more mature. Earthy, dark, woody, slightly resinous. There is almost a cola feel hidden in here. I applaud Hugo for taking a chance and straying from the more mainstream boring cookie cutter scents. This new scent from Hugo Boss was quite the surprise in terms of the recent Elixir flankers. This follow alongs the lines of Dior Sauvage Elixir with a more refined and elegant scent profile. I like that the performance is not as absurd as Sauvage elixir so I can see myself wearing this more often. There’s not much sweetness to this scent but it also isn’t incredibly dark. It starts off with a smooth and rich incense note before transitioning into the woody notes at the heart and base. Performance on this one is great, it definitely sticks around like a true parfum and is something that you will continue getting whiffs of throughout the day. While this isn’t the style of perfumery that I would normally gravitate towards, I can see an experienced and mature nose ... MoreThis new scent from Hugo Boss was quite the surprise in terms of the recent Elixir flankers. Giving this a 4 out of 5 only because it’s not what I would generally prefer to wear. However, I think this would be great for formal and night time occasions for someone who’s not looking for a scent that leans heavily into the sweeter side of things. Definitely best for the fall/winter seasons due to that performance and darker scent profile.

Always been a fan of the boss bottled scents and this new addition doesnt disappoint. In its recognisable bottle shape, dark brown glass bottle, gold lid and 50ml. The spray dispenses easily, spraying a fine mist out. Easy to spray over you giving a good coverage. Dries almost instantly on you, not leaving any sticky residue or marks on your clothes. Quite an earthy scent that's not too overpowering and is quite long lasting. You're able to smell it still throughout the day. The cedarwood essence comes through with the woody tones. Perfect for both every day wear and for special occasions. With the bottle size it's going to last quite awhile. Would definitely be one we would repurchase.
I really like the smell of BOSS Bottled Elixir Parfum Intense and have to admit I get plenty of nice things said about it when I wear it. Highly concentrated scent smells great and lasts. Vetiver and Patchouli mix together to create an earthy and rich base that really works with this scent. Notes of Incense and Cardamom give the fragrance a touch of class and I admit I feel good when I am wearing it. I am told there is a fusion of Cedarwood and Labdanum that is responsible for the woody undertones I get from it. It not only smells great but comes in a bottle that also looks classy. A black lacquered finish with a luminous golden glow in the centre for contras and a gold cap make this look striking. This has quickly become my favourite fragrance.
I wanted to try a more traditionally masculine aftershave than the Armani Il that I usually use, and this BOSS Parfum is certainly that - a very manly, warm smell that reminds me of cinnamon and nutmeg, very much on the autumn/Christmas nights spectrum of scents. Unfortunately, I found it really overpowering. A little goes a LONG way, and a smell that I was quite happy with initially became cloying and too intense when I had to wear it all day. The longer I wore it, the less I liked it, and it has serious staying power. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that by the end of the day I felt queasy from the smell following me around all day! I appreciate that Eau de Parfums have a more intense and lasting scent, but in this case I found it unwearable. If you prefer your aftershave on this warmer spectrum, you'll probably find this to be good value and long lasting, but it wasn't for me.
My other half almost exclusively wears BOSS aftershave so we were delighted to get this to review. It is a really nice addition to the range, spicier than others, but a lovely distinct and warm smell. I think it stands out enough to consider this a 'going out' aftershave. just because it is a little bit stronger than others. Though it is an eau de Parfum and not eau de toilette. He still smells nice when he comes in from work even though he hasn't reapplied it. He has worn it on random days and I have always picked it out and thought he smelled lovely. Maybe im just used to the smell of his others, though I always think he smells nice, this one is particularly nice. This is definitely one that will be replaced when this bottle runs out.
This is definitively a parfum, not an aftershave or eau de toilette, so it has far more depth and longevity to the fragrance. Not one to be splashed around, a little dab on pulse points is enough to last most, if not all the day. Or night my son in law likes Boss fragrances and has the blue one but as soon as I smelt this, I knew he wasn't getting it! I've given it to my husband, purely for selfish reasons so I can get the benefit. Because, to me at least, this smells absolutely wonderful. Woody, naturally, as the base is cedar but so much more complex than that. I was a little concerned about the patchouli which I don't normally like at all, it reminds me of soggy afghan coats and dodgy shops selling dodgy gear from the 1970s (sorry, my age is showing) but in this, ... MoreThis is definitively a parfum, not an aftershave or eau de toilette, so it has far more depth and longevity to the fragrance. I was a little concerned about the patchouli which I don't normally like at all, it reminds me of soggy afghan coats and dodgy shops selling dodgy gear from the 1970s (sorry, my age is showing) but in this, it's been very skilfully blended with vetiver, cardamom, that sort of thing so the earthy spiciness takes the prize. I hate to sound all gushing in my praise, but honestly this is sophisticated, warm, woodsy, and somehow, comforting. You know if you go for a walk in the autumn, after a cloudburst when all the scents of the fallen leaves, mud, moss, streams and everything else are refreshed and released? Then the sun comes out, everything sparkles and seems bright and warm. Well, if you can imagine that - it's this, in a bottle. Just rather lovely and somehow familiar yet very inviting. Fabulous.
Well, performance wise this is insane. Two tiny sprays and it was still projecting well after 12 hours! The downside to this is it's far too strong to wear in any kind of office environment or intimate social occasion. I literally took my finger off the spray the moment it started spraying, to get the smallest amount I could and it was still really strong. If you like Mugler Amen, this is a similar strength and like Amen there is this one note that stands out and overpowers the rest. It's a nice enough smell but I don't know when I'd ever be in a situation where I want the whole room to have to smell my scent all night! Usually with scents like D&G The One and YSL La Nuit de L'Homme I'm wishing it was stronger and longlasting but I'm the opposite with this, never ... MoreWell, performance wise this is insane. This was my first "expensive" cologne and I'm glad that I added it to my growing collection of scents. The power and incensy richness and depth is incomparable. Of course I've studied how different skin and PH compositions in our particular skin can affect the longetivity and sillage and "bubble" of whatever scent rocks your world. I will spritzed this baby maker on after I smother my skin with lotion to ensure that it grows "legs" aka longetivity. I haven't yet gone out into the big bad world wearing this. I will report back and amend my review after a few days but this is going to be my crown jewel in my collection alongside my Tom Ford. I like the deep dark depth of the scent.
