I recently had the opportunity to use the 12 oz Hydro Flask Insulated Food Container and I must say, I quickly fell in love with this! It has become a staple in my daily routine. The insulation on this container is top notch. I packed hot soup for lunch and it kept my food at the perfect temperature, for hours! Sealed up tight!! Cleaning up was a breeze, easy to wipe out, dishwasher safe which is very convenient and the stainless steel comforts me that mold can’t grow in the crevices. The Hydro Flask, 12 oz, Insulated Food Container is very versatile, durable, and reliable. It’s a great option for keeping food the right temperature, secure, and safe. Highly recommend!!

Food Jar

I have several Hydro Flask products and can't say much negative about any of them. We had a food jar's lid separate into pieces (insulated portion and outer layer came apart). I opted to take advantage of the warrant as I didn't want to have future issues with the product, especially concerning potential mold making it's way between the layers if I attempted to repair the issue myself. The warrant process was painful (it took well over a month and a half of emailing and returning the damaged item (paying for shipping myself) before finally receiving the replacement. I've only used the item a couple times and feel the newer food jar does not retain the heat like my old one...very disappointing. Great for families on the go

I was very pleased when I purchased this for myself that I went on to gift one to my husband and daughter. It served its purpose greatly of keeping our food cold/hot. We loved it as my husband works construction and has not access to warm/chill food. My daughter needs higher nutrition variety in her school lunches and this allowed us to be playful with lunch. I have one bad remark. After one year of use and cleaning, the food is no longer kept warm/chilled. I believe the rubber seal may be damaged on all of the containers. I have been looking for replacement parts online, but have not found any. If they made these parts and it fixed the problem I would give it a 5 star for durability.

Highly functional, great quality

I bought this for my daughter as a lunch container after extensive searching for almost 2 years. Very happy to have finally found it. It works well and keeps the food warm for long. Have not tried for cold stuff but I’m sure it works great. Would work well for kids as a similar width jar with 16oz capacity. But this is a great size for older kids and youth or even adults. Have tried other products too and am very happy with them. Glad to see they are making different versions to fit varying needs and users.

I’ve been looking for a widemouth insulated container for awhile now and was disappointed with the ones I purchased. This one is exactly what I have been looking for! It’s definitely wide mouthed for the soups I like to make and it’s 28 oz which lets me put as much or as little soup as I like. I can take my homemade soup to work! I like the look of it, sleek and simple, and I can throw it in my bag. It was hard to find a container like this and offering a generous size of 28 oz.I’m sure I can use it for lots of other things too, pasta, noodles, oatmeal with fruit. I'm honestly loving this thing! It's great for those days when I'm limited on what I can pack for my lunch break at work, as I can cook up a pot of soup or pasta at home in the morning, pour it piping hot into this container, and then enjoy my lunch at work later at a nicely tempered still-hot-but-won't-burn-my-mouth temperature without having to deal with the filthy break room microwave. I typically have roughly 5-6 hours between filling the jar and opening it up for lunch, and that seems to be the limit for still having pleasantly warm food to eat. By the time we were ready for lunch, I was able to open up my pack, pull out this jar and a spork, open it up, and enjoy a nice hot meal while my colleagues would be unenthusiastically munching on dry snack bars, cold jerky, and whatever trail mix they happened to have.Cleaning is pretty easy. Soapy water and a bottle brush do the trick nicely, and while the rubber o-ring in the lid does seem to retain some mild odors, the stainless steel jar itself doesn't do so at all. The o-ring is easily removeable for more thorough cleaning, as well. I've never had any issues or concerns with leaks or spills from this container, and while I haven't actually tried using it for anything cold (e.g., yogurt, ice cream, etc.), I can at least attest to it's usefulness for hot stuff, and especially foods with a more uniform consistency such as soup, pasta, rice, and backpacking pouch stuff.

Review of 20 oz Insulated Food Jar

My go to shop for Hydro Flask. Flasks always come in original packaging and always in mint condition. In my opinion Agave is the most beautiful colour Hydro Flasks are available in. These insulated food jars are lightweight and leak proof and easy to clean. My only wish is that lids were stainless steel, not plastic. Maybe in the future they will be. Delivery is super fast.

Wide Mouth Wonder

This is the perfect size insulated vessel. It keeps hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold for hours, and the wide mouth makes fewer messes when loading it. I primarily use it to rehydrate food or keep lunch warm on the ski hill. Huge fan, I even carry it in the backcountry. It’s worth the weight. I’ve gifted a couple for birthdays to great success too.

We use this jar to pack food for lunch/dinner/late night work for our college kid. It gets filled with home made food right off the stove and then the kids get to eat reasonably warm food a few hours later. Certainly, the food is not as hot as it was put in but stays warm enough for the kids to eat. A quick easy rinse in a sink before it comes back home for full cleaning. As long as the lid has been properly put on, we have not seen any leaks. The BPA free label puts a smile on for us. In addition to soups, we also use it for carrying other foods such as noodles, rice dishes, breakfast items such as oats, etc.The jar has a bit of heft and bulk to it. Not sure how long the color on the metal part will stay but it looks great when new.On the inside of the cap is a soft red colored ring which is probably what seals the jar and keeps it leak proof. The ring needs to be taken off when cleaning. Getting the ring off the inside of the cap is a pain....nothing to grab the ring and we worry about tearing the ring if we are not careful taking it off. Try getting the ring/seal of a wet and sometimes greasy cap, not easy nor fun....this should have been designed better, IMO. Putting the ring/seal back on is not too bad though.Overall, a nice elegant package that meet the needs for our college kid and enables multi-use for soups, breakfast and lunch food.
