So out of previous bags I've used for lunch this is by far the best one yet! To test how long it kept something cold I put a quart sized sealable bag full of nugget ice and brought to work. My office sits about 75 degrees most of the time maybe hotter depending on the Florida heat. From 6 AM to the time I got home around 5 PM I still had half a bag of ice while the rest melted. This bag definitely keeps my food and cans cold up until I can eat lunch around noon. There is plenty of room inside as well as I fit a can of soda, 2 wraps, 4 hard boiled eggs, bag of chips, and condiments. Another thing I like is the option of 2 handles on how you like to carry around your stuff along with an outside pocket that you can set your car keys in, access card for work entry, or ... I have always relied upon the plastic bag from the local grocery store or even the old school brown paper bag. After just one use of this bag, I have realized what I’ve been missing out on for years. My original Hydroflask lunch bag tore at the seam and this was sent as a replacement. Although it took some time, Hydroflask stands by their products.The bag is a good size for what I need and my old one did a great job of keeping things cool. I loved the blue color of my old bag. I’m not a fan of black, especially since it sits in my car at times.My biggest issue is I’m not a fan of the fabric. It has a coating compared to the old one. It reflects light off it differently which irritates my eyes.Functionally the bag is fine but I haven’t been using it because of the feel and look.

This means that when placed into my backpack, the bag would be on its side. If anything were to spill inside the bag, it could leak through the zipper. The inside zippered pocket is perfect for holding utensils and the outside pocket is great for storing napkins. At first I thought I would prefer the outside pocket to have a zipper as well, but now I'm glad it doesn't. It is deep enough that the napkins don't fall out and with no zipper I can easily reach in with one hand and quickly grab one if I need to. It's also a great place to stuff small random trash that is prone to blowing away when eating outside (straw wrappers, plastic wrapping around beverage tops, etc). Good cooler bag! It holds several different size containers along with a decent size ice pack It keeps the items cold for the full work shift. I love that it is a bright colour liner, making it easy to see what's inside. The reinforced inside zipper pocket holds a full set for cutlery. It takes up a lot of room in my back pack but its soft enough and compresses down. The front pocket is great for extra snack bags. The side handle is good provides a an extra option for packing and carrying, and could clip on accessories if required.
In the gray colour, it's a very sleek and minimalistic lunch cooler. It easily fit a lunch box organiizer and vacuum insulated cup inside. The zipper seem has a fabric overlap that looks like it will seal out the air fairly well, without getting caught in the mechanism when you pull it. There's a decent amount of insulation inside, but I wouldn't expect it to preform as well as a rigid cooler.
As with all HydroFlask products, this lunch bag is a premium item. The outside fabric is solid and abrasion resistant, the handles are also sturdy and will resist years of abuse. Solid zippers ensure easy closure.Inside, the liner looks good, but does not inspire the kind of confidence one associates with a $50+ lunchbag: it's thin, rubbery, and will tear up way before the outside of the bag is damaged. Wanted a small lunch box that I could carry in my messenger bag with my laptop, so I grabbed the Yeti one based on brand recognition alone. It worked fine, but was annoyed with how I needed perfectly sized tupperwares to fit the rigid constraints.Returned it and tried the hydro flask lunch box, which is 1.5 liters larger and the size, coupled with the flexible exterior was exactly what I wanted for those leftover lunches!Only minor gripe is I wished there were more color options.
