Best for leftovers ever!

Best little leftover food jar ever. I like the size for taking a small portion of food for my 15 minute break at work. I usually put my leftover veggies or noodles in it. I warm the food up before I put it in the jar and it’s still hot when I take my break, which is usually 3 hours later. Love love love it.

Could stay hotter longer.

The 8 oz food jar is just perfect for my husband to take his daily oatmeal with him in the morning. Having said that, it doesn’t keep it as hot as prepared for more than about 3 hours which works for him. It’s good up to about 3 hours, after that it’s just warm, not hot.We do love the screw on top and the silicone type outer covering.

Great for school lunches

Sending out second grader to school with hot (ok, warm) lunches has been a game changer. No more cold cut sandwiches for weeks on end — now our school lunch menu includes pastas, fried rice, and more. This size is a perfect portion for elementary school kids. Wide lid makes it easy to fill and to eat from. Tight enough that it doesn’t leak but still can be opened by small hands. If you heat the canister with hot water beforehand and heat the food before it goes it, it stays warm enough in a lunch box from morning til noon. Great buy.

Great for school lunches!!

I recently got this Hydro Flask insulated food jar for our 8 year old son to take lunches to school. It has TempShield with double wall vacuum insulation that protects temperature for hours. This is made of pro-grade stainless steel. It is BPA and toxin free. It has Color Last coating. And it is most definitely Leak Proof. We got our son the 8 oz food jar and it is perfect size for anything we send to lunch. We don't usually use this for cold items, but we have sent fruit and the fruit I sent him to school with stayed cold and fresh for hours. We mostly use this for hot items like soups, raviolis, pizza rolls, his favorite chicken rings, etc. We make sure the food is hot at 8 AM and by the time his lunch starts at 11:30 AM it is still the perfect warm temperature to ... MoreI recently got this Hydro Flask insulated food jar for our 8 year old son to take lunches to school. The food is never cold. This Hydro Flask fits perfectly in his lunchbox and the best part is that he can open and close the jar easily by himself. It's very easy to hand wash with its wide lid after use. This also comes with a Lifetime Warranty against manufacturers defects. I highly recommend buying this for kids' lunches! It's so convenient! I will definitely be buying more!

Great temperature control!
23 December 2021

I’ve heard about this brand for awhile, so I was excited to try it out. Almost everything lived up to expectations. The design was attractive, modern, and smooth, and after the initial try, I had no problem opening it. I found that temperature control was pretty accurate, hot slightly more than cold. It’s the perfect size to fit in a small/medium lunch box, which is great for someone like me who brings food to work. The only con is the difficulty of washing. There are so many nooks and crannies in the inner lid where mold/food remnants can hide. I do understand that may be needed for leak proof purposes, but I do wish it was easier to clean.

Nice little jars
30 November 2021

At first I was not sure that these 8 oz Hydroflask jars would be big enough to be useful, but they are actually good for keeping portions under control. The size is nice to throw in a bag and take on the go. No leaks. Perfect for taking soup or hot chocolate up to the mountain for a day of skiing, or to keep hot food, hot for lunch at work. Easy to clean and durable. I usually buy larger tubs of yogurt, and these are equally great for keeping it cold - top with a few pieces of fresh fruit for a mini parfait. Also, would be good to send to school for kids lunches. Nice little food jars.

Perfect for a small cup of soup!

This smaller size insulated food jar is the perfect size for when you want to take just a small serving of something and keep it hot.I like filling mine with some soup for lunch.I preheat it by putting some boiling water in it and leaving it for a few minutes while I heat up my soup.I have to be careful not to heat my soup up TOO much because I swear it doesn't cool down much at all in the 4-5 hours that it's in there until I eat it an lunch.Does an great job of keeping things hot.One day I didn't get to eat until late and was afraid that my soup might need to be warmed up again to eat.NOPE, it was still plenty warm enough.Excellent quality product.

Perfect for my high school daughter!
8 October 2024

I bought this jar for my high school daughter. It's small but holds enough food for her, and keeps food warm. The quality is excellent, easy to clean, and it's adorable too! Highly recommended!

insulated food container

my kids love this container for keeping their yogurt parfaits and soups at just the right temperature and not worrying about contents spilling in their backpacks or lunch boxes. we also make great use of these on backpacking trips and appreciate that the durability withstands the abuses of a rogue container rolling around a truck bed with no precious food forsaken in the process

not as happy as I thought I’d be.

These containers (I bought the 8 and 12 oz) we a bit heavier and bulkier than anticipated. I bought them along with the 3 and 5L lunchboxes for an upcoming full day hike. strangely neither fit snuggly inside the 3L lunchbox like i anticipated. They did fit in the 5L bag with room to spare but it was too bulky to fit in my hiking bag.i contacted the company on how to prime them as there wasn’t any info in the pamphlet that came with them. They indicated they are not comparable to the water bottles in how long they keep food cold/hot. They are only able to achieve 4-5 hours. I have the lightweight 32oz bottle and find it keeps temperature about 20% less than anticipated so I anticipate these will Produce the same results. So for the bulk, weight, inability to fit in ... MoreThese containers (I bought the 8 and 12 oz) we a bit heavier and bulkier than anticipated. I just wish the temp guide was on the Altitude website like the water bottle info is.I do like they are made of stainless steel though !
