Had a chance to try out this insulated bottle on a couple of spring day hikes in the mountains near Vancouver. It's noticeably lighter than other models with the same volume so that's a definite advantage. It also fits nicely into the water bottle pockets on my 16L and 20L daypacks. No issues with the build quality or finish. As for performance, I filled the bottle with boiling water in the morning. By lunch it was still fairly hot, but it was lukewarm by the end of the day. I have a heavier model from another company that keeps the water hot all day, so I guess you do lose some insulating capacity with the thinner and lighter materials. It's up to you to decide if the trade-off is worth it. It's also worth noting there's nothing holding back the water once you ... MoreHad a chance to try out this insulated bottle on a couple of spring day hikes in the mountains near Vancouver. I have several Hydro Flasks, Yetis and Klean Kanteens and I love them all for different reasons. For a bottle this size, I am looking to keep water cool/cold for long periods of time and they do just that. The one thing I love most about Hydro Flask is that the large capacity bottles 32 and 40oz, they can fit in my hand and I can drink a full bottle with one hand. A Yeti of same capacity is wider and I have a hard time getting a grip around the bottle especially when it is full. I was interested in this 'lighter' version and decided to give it a go. I purchased the blue - "Celestine' - and it is beautiful. Very similar to the Laguna colour from the Summer '22 collection but this is a metallic blue and its gorgeous. There is not a huge difference in weight that I can tell, but a backpacker might. The thing I love most about this, other than the colour, is that the bottle is even slimmer than the normal 32oz. So the bottle is slimmer, fits in the hand even better and also fits in the car cup holder. A previous reviewer posted a photo of the size comparison and it is accurate and depicts the difference well. For people with smaller hands who like this capacity, this might be a great alternative for you. Only drawback at this point is the lack of colour options but again, that blue is stunning and the brown looks like too.

One of the lightest insulated bottles I’ve used. Great 32 oz size - slimmer (and lighter) than the standard hydro flask wise mouth bottle. Fits well into side pocket of the various backpacks that we have. A really great botttle to take along when you want volume without excessive weight + superb insulation of contents. We own three of these for a reason!

The idea of this bottle is great! It is lightweight so perfect to hike or travel with. BUT you sacrifice staying cold capabilities and the durability in how it is made. I used mine a handful of times, never dropped it but recently noticed it already had a ding at the top! For the price I was not expecting it to get banged up so fast especially since it was never dropped or bumped it hard. It kept my water cold but not as long as my regular hydro flask bottle. Ultimately I ended up returning this even though I did like it. I will stick to my regular hydro flask and other water bottle brands even if they may be slightly heavier!
The good: 32oz seems like a good balance between having to constantly refill and having a bulky bottle. Insulation is not extraordinary, but it does a decent job at keeping my water cool during +30°C days. A+ for the obsidian colour; it looks really nice. The wide mouth is perfect to accomodate deep bottle/glass brushes. The not so good: the lightweight bottles have a different coating than the regular ones, and the finish is easy to scratch. Also, using a dishwasher to clean the lightweight models is not recommended. The 32oz diameter is too wide to fit in my vehicle cup holders except for the ones in my door panels (check the measurements carefully). That being said, I am really enjoying that bottle so far. I would buy a Hydro Flask again, though it would be one ... MoreThe good: 32oz seems like a good balance between having to constantly refill and having a bulky bottle. I felt obligated to write this review so other people don't potentially run into the same "issue" I did. While the bottle itself is great in function and quality, as expected from my previous Hydroflasks, the color was not as it appeared in ads. I had ordered the Celestine color as I initially saw it on a Facebook ad in which it looked like an aqua/turquoise/jade green combination color that was unique and I liked it. At the time I had ordered it, the color looked the same way on the website, but when I opened the box upon delivery, it is much more of just a standard anodized blue appearance. Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice color and more recent ads as well as the website now seem to reflect the true color, but I just wanted to put this out there in case ... MoreI felt obligated to write this review so other people don't potentially run into the same "issue" I did. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars versus 5
Nice bottle, worked pretty well. I bought a takeya bumper set to protect the base and upper wall. Insulation only lasted 1 year, and has now stopped insulating, indicating it's leaked air into the vacuum chamber. I did worry that it was quite thin walled when I got it. Nowhere near as sturdy and long lasting as their regular insulated bottles.
They’ve quickly become my favourite water bottle brand. Bit pricey, but if you can find them on sale, completely worth it!This one has the capacity of a Nalgene and is almost as lightweight, but it’ll keep your hot liquids hot and your cold ones cold. It’s super durable, I’ve had a few hydro flask bottles and so far haven’t noticed any dents or scratches (with regular use). Gave one to my friend for Christmas and she loves it too!
The bottle is ok, but it would be nice to have a better lid that isn’t entirelymade of plastic. A lid with a metal center facing inside with perhaps plastic threads would be much better. The all metal lids that Hydro Flask sells as an accessory are terrible!!! The threads on the lid are metal, so when you attempt to screw it on to the bottle cap after a while flakes of metal start to come off due to the grinding of metal on metal….this is not safe for drinking. Please do better HydroFkask!
I like the taller and more narrow silhouette of this 32oz bottle - which helps it fit into larger cup holders. It claimed "cold up to 24 hours" and that did not hold true. I love drinking cold water and this bottle does not keep it cold through the day. I could add ice to make it better, but I wish I had bought another Original Wide Mouth series - my drinks were ALWAYS cold in the original bottles!
