I’ve tried other keyboards such as the Razer Huntsman mini and although it is a good keyboard, this one is just slightly better in my opinion. Better build quality, better key layout (65%), software and keycaps. I do prefer the font on the keycaps and look of the Huntsman more but I do like how HyperX included the cool accent keycaps. I was really surprised by the weight of the board as well, definitely has that premium feel/weigh to it. If you can find this board on sale then it’s definitely worth a pickup if you’re in the market for a 60% or 65% keyboard.

I bought this for my daughter and she immediately loves it. The keyboard is very well made - especially the aluminum base makes me feel like it is one of the highest grade keyboards and makes me remember my first model M IBM mechanical keyboard. She likes the RED switch (linear) but I prefer the "clicky" BLUE switch (just personal preferences no quality difference). This 60-key is more expensive than the HyperX tenkeyless one (with more keys but cheaper) and this looks making little sense, but the BIG difference is that this one is with PBT keycaps instead of ABS, and the cost to make them is much higher. When this is on sale and you wish to have one of the best mechanical keyboards and don't mind using the compact design, go for it.

I needed a smaller gaming keyboard as my computer gaming space became limited. This fit the bill, perfectly. Despite the limited number of keys, it is very capable in achieving the needs I have for my mostly casual gaming style. The RGB lighting is also fully customizable for each key. However, the lighting software is a little clunky, and it cannot seem to save to the three profiles it supposedly has onboard. Switching between profiles seems to only have the last one I uploaded. However, I really only need the one layout, so it is not as much of a bother to me. In summary, if you want a compact, tactile, fully RGB mechanical gaming keyboard, this is a great choice!
I was torn between the Aquas and Reds. Couldn't go wrong with either, but I settled for the reds. The quality of the frame, switches, and keycaps do not disappoint either. It checks all the boxes when it comes to meeting the expectations of a Great gaming keyboard. I'd say the only thing I would point out is the stabs on the board being kind of ticky due to them hitting the frame every time I press on it. A bandaid mod and some lube will do the trick. All in all, you will not regret paying the price for this keyboard, but I recommend going for it if there is a sale. $140 is a hefty price for anything.
The good: Keyboard has a decent feel, it's solid and has some weight to it. It looks great. It comes with a lot of really great RGB options, and it was cheap for a mechanical keyboard. The bad: After a month the L key stopped working. I can still use the key, but it does not register taps unless I forcefully tap on it. The depress is no different than any other key, and nothing was spilled on the keyboard in the 5-6 weeks of ownership. I had a similar problem with a cheap Thermaltake keyboard that I bought from Best Buy many years ago. I don't think I will buy another mechanical keyboard in this price range since I'm now 0 for 2. Hopefully HyperX makes it right and their replacement keyboard is a better quality.
I'm a fan of linear switches and this one feels really nice. I am actually writing this review with this keyboard. It is not for users who are acquainted with less sensitive keyboards. It is less loud than most tactile mechanical keyboards. The reason that got me to buy this one was its minimalistic aesthetic. I'm not a fan of macro keys and on board displays as they make the keyboard bulkier. I would actually prefer the TKL version of this board at this moment. Overall, it is satisfying keyboard. The software to control the lighting takes a little bit of finicking to get used to and at the moment of writing, only has a downloadable version on the windows store.
I debate their TKL version of this, but this is good too. Depends on your keypad preference. I prefer red switches, good for everything and not too loud if it's mainly for productivity and still great if you game. I need their PBT keycaps, the ones with the white outline. Also, it can store 3 designed presets in FN+1 FN+2 FN+3 so if you want some RGB control outside of a Windows environment you can totally have that. I bounce between Linux and Windows and have one for "fancy sitting display" and the other two for solid red and white depending on the time of day. I haven't tried programming it with a VM in Linux, but imagine that is possible. There's also openrgb too, but I haven't tested it with that.

I had a higher level HyperX and had issues with connections and then keys started failing. The more expensive one (with the sound etc buttons) actually was amazing - the buttons generously spaced and bigger board. Support from HyperX was outstanding. Hence why i stuck with them (really HP) As HyperX didn't make that model so i opted for this model HyperX Alloy MKW100 as what could be seen as a downgrade. The keyboard generally is ok but the keys on the side of the board especially the Control key is at the same height, proximity and bunched close to the shift button. It took a bit of time to realise why my typing was going crazy, screens going backwards and other windows opening. The reason was my palm was hitting the control key when pressing shift.
