I upgraded to the HyperX Alpha S from some cheap turtle beaches. These are not sound proof but I don’t mind, I like being able to hear if someone needs my attention or something is going around in my environment. It’s still noise reducing. These definitely need to be broken in or I need to try the foam ear cushions they come with because right now I’m dealing with jaw pain from it being on for too long. They aren’t very good with glasses either, they begin to have pain after about an hour. Right now I’m using the leatherette ears. As for mic, my friends have had issues hearing me unless the mic is basically right on my face. They say it’s quiet unless otherwise. Now for some positives. The surround sound is awesome. I’ve never felt so immersed in a game before. You can hear the direction people are walking in and at times I’ve even had to turn around because I thought someone was behind me in real life. I don’t game competitively, just for fun and this headset does just fine. I’m hoping as I wear it more the cushions will give more leeway for added comfort. But overall a good headset due to all the configurations you can have without messing with pc audio. It’s right on the mic adjuster.

This headset is maybe worth $50 at best, but due to the "300 Hour Battery Life" gimmick, it's allowed them to drive the price sky-high. I missed out on more quality headsets and could've saved some money instead of buying this junk.I've had quite a few HyperX headsets and this is by far the worst, and I would expect more from this company than this heap. Cloud 2's are still my gold-standard for comfort/sound quality, but as for wireless headsets? HyperX is behind the curve.

I have owned A LOT of headphones. Mostly looking for that great balanced sound while being a relatively isolated genuinely nice place to be. From top of the line Apple, Beats, Bose and pretty much everything else …this set is my favorite by far. Like best in a decade never get rid of good. The battery is stupid. I have had them for 3 weeks and have been using them for anything I can because I like how they feel on my head. I work from home and do 2-3 Zooms/Teams a day, Play Destiny pretty hard core on weekends and listen to a A LOT of music... I'm still at 90%.... Full Charge on the night of delivery. Don't get me started on the build. It's amazing... the aluminum frame puts the quality feel in a set of cans. (No sarcasm just pun) I LOVE the dual driver. ... MoreI have owned A LOT of headphones. It takes live music (recorded) to another level and creates a great space. Nice replication of ambiance. In tunes like WOW from Lennie Tristano (Sextet) you can literally hear the saxophone keys working mechanically. Best part, it still bangs when I've had some bourbon and want to vibe out on some dirty club music. That dedicated driver for bass is absolutely appreciated and noticeable. After living in them... I would have paid more lol

I currently still own Astro A50 Wireless that runs $350 which still works and I use it mainly for Call of Duty titles or Battlefield (when it used to be great). I went ahead to buy the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless gaming headset to replace my other headset that I use for my PC. I used the Cloud Alpha for PC and the PS5. The sound quality is great, I could hear the footsteps sounds in FPS and 3rd person shooter games. Playing games or listening to music sounds great. You can tell the Cloud Alpha is durable unlike the A50 which they feel delicate. Since I own both headsets with different price range. The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless is almost close to the Astro A50. Yes you can customize the sound quality the tuning software just like the A50 to match your sound ... The battery life, it takes a while for it to get low. The A50 has 15 hour battery life. The Cloud Alpha has 300 hour battery life. For 2 days it tells me I have 90% battery life. If you don't want to spend $350, that's fine just get the HyperX Cloud Alpha wireless for $199.99 or on sale for only $149.99 plus Tax. Just get it and you will see what I mean. I've been using this more compared to my A50.
This thing has confusing battery life. As in, I’m confused as to how it lasts this long without having an extended battery pack hanging off the back or something.I’ve used it for basically three weeks straight and barely gotten it down to 60%, playing multiple hours per day. No exaggeration.Sound quality is probably an 8/10, when I’m not gaming, I use some studio open-back headphones, which have a better clarity/soundstage, but for gaming this does the trick and even has some decent mids and bass that is absent in a lot of wireless headsets.Quality feels solid. Not too heavy, and not so light that it feels cheap or breakable. The adjustment for the head strap tends to stay in place very well, on other headphones I sometimes have to adjust them back to the proper size each time I put it on, but not on these. Padding on the top is not the most comfortable, but it’s fine. I also wish it came in different colors, not a big fan of the red on black that HyperX uses on all their products, but it’s not the end of the world. The only other negative criticism I would have of it is that the mic audio quality doesn’t sound the best, you’re certainly not going to be using it for recording podcasts or other high-quality audio, but for chatting in discord or games, it does the trick.HyperX, quit holding out on us and release this super top-secret battery technology so that we can use it in electric vehicles /s
I really wanted to like the headphones but it just seems like it was overhyped.I received my first pair and I thought they were defective because the sound quality on Windows sounds low. I literally have to turn my volume up to 80 -90 to hear my game. I exchanged them for the same pair to see if they were defective.I decided to give the two week period to see how I like them. The sound quality is still low for me. There is a lot of bass to them in my opinion and it can be too much because I hear a static. My boyfriend and I play games together and we talk on discord I hear him outside my headphones before it comes to my headphones then he wonders why I lag in responding.Personally, I just don’t think it’s worth the price point for multiple reasons.I heard it’s just best to go with the Cloud 2 only because they are basically the same thing but apparently more comfortable and who needs 300 hours. You’re basically paying $100 more for 300 hour battery.
Coming from the wired version of the same headset, there are several things I noticed going into this one.1. Better build-quality. While all HyperX products in the Cloud series I've used so far have been well built, this headset really set a new benchmark for me. It's solid, clean, and comfortable.2. It's lightweight. You know, I never expected a headset that boasts this sort of battery life to be lightweight. I seriously don't know how it can simultaneously be *lighter* feeling than the Cloud Alpha Wired, but still boast equivalent if not better sound quality.3. The battery life. Oh my god the battery life. If there's any reason that you need to get this thing, it's the battery life. Most manufacturers will make inflated claims about their battery life (it's ... Oh my god the battery life. If there's any reason that you need to get this thing, it's the battery life. Most manufacturers will make inflated claims about their battery life (it's kind of expected, honestly). But this thing? I've charged it exactly 3 TIMES in the entire time that I've owned it. While the battery is obviously not going to last forever, it's still so unreasonably strong that even in an old, depleted state, I can imagine it out-lasting all of its contemporaries.OVERALL REVIEW:Gorgeous headset, great sound quality, insane battery, 9.8/10. The only thing I wish this had was the ability to connect to a phone without an extra adapter sticking out the side. If it *could* connect to a phone, it would be an easy 10/10 for me.
So I feel 2 stars is a bit low of an overall review but I can explain. So to start the headset is very comfortable even as a person who wears glasses I never get that ache in the side of my head after playing for way longer than I should be playing. The headset really does have the greatest battery life of any other headset I've had and I've been through way too many headsets of all the brands.I don't use the mic on the headset so I cannot attest to how the quality is on that but I could only imagine that it's just like any other headset mic out there. And overall the thing is a solid headset I would recommend it and hope that they don't get the one flaw that I cannot stand with my experience using this headset... Pretty frequently I get a static charge that can last 1 to 5 minutes straight and most of the time it is when I'm in the middle of a match of some sort. It seems to me the issue only occurs when there are so many different sounds happening all at once like in the middle of a match with a lot of actions, I'll get the static charge, and I'm totally out of the round because I can't hear anything and cannot decipher my left and rights. and it's on all the games I play not just one or at a random time it's when those scenarios happen. But I mean overall besides the fact you'll be surprised mid-round of any game it seems this headset is solid.
For the price this headset probably can't be beaten for build and sound quality, this is my second cloud alpha and third hyperx headset as my others lasted for years under heavy use. They're also comfortable, they don't clamp down on your head with force and the cushions make a decent enough seal even over big ears.Great highs and mids, not the best bass but it's there. It compensates for that by having a pretty good 3d sound with the speakers being a little further away from your ear, so you can crank the volume up and get the bass without having the highs be too loud. The mic is good quality too, no buzzing on wired controllers. I've had 2 different models of hyperx headsets on 2 different wired controllers and none of them make a buzz or static noise even if ... I've had 2 different models of hyperx headsets on 2 different wired controllers and none of them make a buzz or static noise even if they're years old.I had a different hyperx headset between my first cloud and this one, both of those lasted years, my last one was dropped multiple times and still works fine just the casing has cracked a little and is held together with tape. My first cloud broke after 3-4 years as I neglected to clean the small speaker wire when I cleaned the ear cups and headband, resulting in the wire hardening over time and eventually splitting. Knowing that, my last hyperx headset has the same design so I just cleaned that and it lasted as a result.Nothing else in this price range tends to last longer than months under regular use before it atleast starts to degrade, half of this is metal so cheap plastic isn't even a factor and the speakers can take years of abuse without even starting to crackle. I would go as far as to say there isn't a single other headset that can do all of that under 3 digits
