Perfect size guitar, since I am not a big person.- lightweight with thin body- due the lightness of guitar, easier to play and less strain on back or neck- "Killer Tone Dude....!" Especially when you have the toggle switch, that changes the pickup configuration 5 different ways for you... Very NICE....- This baby was immediately ready to go and jam on after tuning it up right away.- the color caught my eye immediately, plus this was an upgrade from two other guitars I had and sold, to make sure I could get this... one of the two was an Ibanez I REALLY enjoyed, but time to evolve and grow, so to speak.Thoroughly enjoy this guitar, and have already recorded a few guitar riffs/tracks on a couple different amps, and I am extremely pleased.

I like cheap guitars. So I know cheap guitars. I was pretty impressed by the fit and finish here, my first Ibanez. The matte finish is so SMOOTH and makes the guitar seem more expensive than it really is.Yeah it's a metal super strat...but I mean...it's a metal super strat! I got an amp emulator with that brown sound and combined with this axe totally got a halen vibe... My other guitars don't quite sound as right as this one for some 80s hard rock/thrash.Some forums users complain about Ibanez pups, but so far I haven't been let down.TBH, I just wanted a guitar with red binding.But... I swear, the one I got has a 5 five way selector, not 3. And that's when it occurs to me I've never owned a dual humbucker guitar with a 5 way. Huh.And this thing is so light... ... The strings seem to blend together resulting in a somewhat lifeless sound.Features:I love the feel of each component of this guitar. The input jack feels like it will last a lifetime. I suspect this guitar could spend years on the road with never needing to replace anything but the strings.Value:This guitar offers outstanding value at it's current price. The price is what lured me into buying this guitar that doesn't really fit my style. Now that I have experienced the value of Ibanez, I will surely buy more.Manufacturer Support:N/AThe Wow Factor:The price and unique playing experience were what drew me to buying this guitar. It won't be my daily driver but at this price it's easy to justify buying it just to have something so different from the rest of my collection.Overall:This is my first Ibanez. Wow, am I ever impressed. I have zero hesitation recommending this to any guitarist.Other than value there is nothing truly outstanding about this guitar but, absolutely everything about it is really good and came that way right out of the box. While not as good as some of my other guitars, the sound is quite good both clean and with super high gain. I do find that the sound falls apart a bit in the middle territory of "fuzz" or "crunch" but swapping pickups is easy and relatively cheap if want to go that route in the future. Construction is really good. Every part of this guitar feels sturdy. This guitar feels like it was made to hold up to abuse on the road.Maybe I got lucky but right out of the box every single fret was spot on level, polished, and well rounded. The nut was cut perfectly. The only setup needed was a slight truss rod adjustment, lower the action even further (it was already pretty low) and set intonation. I bought another guitar costing $200 more at the same time as this one. It was unplayable out of the box and took me about three hours to do a proper setup on that. In under 20 minutes, this went from a very nice playing guitar to being perfect. I have personally only seen seen this level of polish out of the box from Schecter. This is a unique playing experience due to the flat, wide, and thin neck. It takes some getting used to but it's so much fun to play. At this price there is no reason to not own this guitar. Even if you don't like the looks, this thing is just too good and too fun to pass on. Just close your eyes and enjoy playing a really good guitar for a super low price.

This guitar is excellent for beginners. As this was my first ever guitar I wasn’t sure what to expect. Visually this guitar looks incredible with its red finish it certainly looks like it can rock! I plugged it in and strummed away and this guitar sounded incredible, from clean tones to distorted and high gain it gives a fullness to the sound. If you are a beginner with no guitar knowledge this guitar makes learning a breeze and every time I look at it I can’t help but pick it up and start strumming. The only negative I have (hence the 4 stars) is the volume knob, mine was a little loose but I’m not sure if that is just my model. The website made me want to purchase this guitar because of the great reviews and positive feedback on it, reassuring me that this guitar ... This is a great guitar for the money, wide flat neck , beautiful wood and finish. This body is slim, I mean really slim like a pumpkin seed slim. It will melt into your body and it feels great, good sustain, but it's also really light. So light it tips toward the neck side of the strap. If you are used to 9lb Les Paul you may not like this but if you stand and play for hours you will love it. I would have given four and a half stars if there were an option because i had to clean the pup switch as it was cutting in and out when I got it. Not shure if it was dirty contacts or too much dielectric grease but i removed it and hit it with some spray contact cleaner and it works flawlessly now. I dont recommend cleaning the switch mounted in place as the contact cleaner ... MoreThis is a great guitar for the money, wide flat neck , beautiful wood and finish. I dont recommend cleaning the switch mounted in place as the contact cleaner will destroy the guitar finish of the guitar. That said maybe it should have been 4.5 stars for everything that they got right in this price point to me was not worth a full star deduction. If it needs to be cleaned again soon i will just replace the switch. It's a good guitar that holds tune, and is easy on the shoulder
I have to say that this is a sweet little guitar. It plays way above its price class and comes beautifully set up. I have more expensive Gibson and Fender guitars and this plays just as nice as they do. It doesn't have the premium feel of those guitars but it still feels right in a very basic way. It's light, handy and has a fast neck. This would be a great choice for a beginner, a guitar that is setup properly from the start. I've been playing for more than 50 years and find this little gem to be an awesome guitar that just happens to be cheap. Great instrument to mod but you can play it right out of the box.
Received new guitar - fret buzz all over, bridge saddles were touching each other and causing vibration buzz.Originally,I raised action (still buzz) and then adjusted truss rod - still buzzing. Almost returned guitar due to bad buzz. (Utter frustration at this point)Tried one last thing:Loosened strings and started on low E string string (thickest string) - moved bridge saddles so not touching for all strings one by one ( string order E, A, D, G, B, E). Fret buzz or general buzz gone.Lowered string height first -- still no buzz and then adjusted truss rod back to original position ( I added more relief originally but not necessary since neck bow was not problem) . Fret buzz still gone and now action is much lower and fast.Great guitar super light in weight ... Watch for this problem on string changes, only need a tiny space.
Overall:If you are a super strat fan, especially if you already like the way an RG feels and plays, this guitar is the ultimate. The guitar came literally perfect, the attention to detail is on par or above any guitar I have ever owned or played in my 36 years of playing (and I have had other custom shop guitars). The pickups, which are in other guitars as well, definitely have a slightly different tone with in this mahogany body with a maple cap. They are warm but not as dark as in some other mahogany Ibanez guitars - I'm attributing this to the nice maple top at this point. While the specs are the same, the neck feels slightly different than a Prestige but in a good way. The frets and the inlay were is flawless. The look slightly smaller due to the design but play similar to the jumbos on a Prestige but again, better. The guitar was packed well, came with the Certificate of Authenticity and everything needed (including strap locks)I had planned to get a different guitar this price range but after some reviews and knowing I already enjoyed my other RGs I decided on this and couldn't be happier. Truly this is the best guitar I have ever owned and possibly every played, it just feels right and the Edge Zero trem is phenomenal. I had it on an older model before they quit sending them to the US about 7 years ago. The tuning stability is perfect, as you would expect. The price? It's not cheap but this is basically a custom shop guitar where ever single detail is not only of the finest quality but the finest craftsmanship. Then you compare the cost to others custom shop guitars or from boutique builders, it's actually a bargain for what you get. The versatility of pick up combination means this can do everything from Jazz to Hardcore Metal with ease. While it actually doesn't matter in regards to playability, it pretty darn beautiful as well. The binding on the fret board is even flamed on the one I got. I couldn't ask for more as far as I'm concerned. If you are on the fence between this and another guitar, get the J Custom, you won't be disappointed on any level.
I've owned this guitar for a few years now. It's light, well balanced and very comfortable to play. I bought this because I wanted a guitar I could knock around and practice on. I also wanted to try out the saber body style but didn't want to break the bank. I would say the pickups are average, but, if needed, that can be fixed. You can still get usable sounds with the quantum pickups, though. The electronics have been pretty solid since I've owned it. Some scratchiness but nothing that can't be easily fixed. I play this guitar a lot and it's held up well.If I had to come up with any complaints, there would be 2 small nitpicks I could mention. First, it doesn't hold tune as well as I expect from a fixed bridge. It's not bad, but I find that I have to tweak it more ... MoreI've owned this guitar for a few years now. First, it doesn't hold tune as well as I expect from a fixed bridge. It's not bad, but I find that I have to tweak it more often than I'd like. It's not like it's a half step out, but just enough to be noticeable. Second, the top is a veneer and it doesn't have the "depth" a quilted top typically has. Not bad, but don't expect it to look like a traditional quilted top.
I bought it used from Guitar Center. This is a great guitar. I couldn't ask for anything more. Initially I had in mind that I would change the pickups to branded ones. But hey they sound great to me, don't feel like changing to anything else. I have at least a dozen guitars, but the Ibanez S-series lightness goodness makes me pick up this guitar all the time. I also have a s771pb but I think the s621 is better, cleaner, and better looking. The guitar is light, pickups sound great, the guitar feels smooth and easy to play, holds tuning great, the bridge looks clean, easy to adjust intonation, there are no pickup rings, five-way switch gives several nice configurations = awesome. Oh I also painted over the Ibanez logo on the headstock. Not a big fan of Ibanez otherwise with their pointy-tip guitars and 60's font logos. Schecter has the best quality and manufacturing in the market. Only the Ibanez S-series appeals to me.Anyways, I have a second one coming. Can never have enough of a good thing. You should get one before I buy them all.
