The Ibanez RG has been at the heart of Ibanez’s product line since 1987 and many of the company’s signature artist designs are based on the RG spec. The Gio series brings that legacy to players in it’s most affordable form. The GRG140 electric guitar offers an impressive spec featuring the versatile HSS pickup configuration, basswood body, maple neck and FAT-10 tremolo bridge. Countless pro players favour the HSS pickup configuration as it negates the need to bring both a single coil-equipped guitar and humbucker-equipped guitar on a gig. Sonically, the GRG140 will handle everything from pristine cleans to bluesy grit to metal grind. The Fat 10 Tremolo bridge is perfect for adding subtle vibrato to chords or adding attitude to lead lines whilst still maintaining tuning stability. As for looks- the sunburst body, chrome hardware and white scratch plate give the GRG140-SB a timeless look that still screams with Ibanez attitude! These guitars always come impeccably set up for maximum playability right out of the box. In our opinion, the GIO series is a no brainer for aspiring musicians seeking their first quality instrument.

Love this guitar 😀😀 I currently have four other Ibanez guitars (including an acoustic) and always found the brand to be of high build quality and very playable. One of the best guitar makers out there 😁

Dabbled with guitars years ago but lost interest and sold all my stuff - decided to jump back in, bought this plus an ID:CORE 10 V3 and I'm absolutely loving it!For the price, I genuinely think this is the best beginners guitar out there right now (especially when paired with a versatile practice amp). It has both single coils and humbuckers so you can play most styles of music, it has a thin neck that's easy to navigate, the action isn't too high and the strings are 9's (i.e. very slim) so its easy to play, the fretboard finish is smooth, the volume/tone knobs are sturdy/don't crackle and it has a whammy. My one gripe is that it can take multiple attempts to tune (i.e. you start at the low E string, by the time you get to high E the low E needs fiddling with ... It sounds amazing and looks beautiful too - I can't stop picking it up.I've spent more money on significantly worse guitars in the past, couldn't recommend it more for the price

I bought one of these for my son who is just starting to learn to play & I liked it so much, I bought one for myself! Really great value, with no compromise in the build quality for this price point. Even small details have been given attention, better than some big name guitars in their lower ranges!I wish these had been available when I started playing...!
An excellent guitar. Felt "right" from the moment I picked it up. I am a beginner and this guitar feels so easy to play and the quality seems way beyond the price. Every part of the guitar feels well made from high quality materials
Excellent sound and playability, but as mentioned it needs some way to secure the tremolo arm where you want it.
At it's Price point it is superb. Even the stock strings feel great (I normally upgrade them first, but these can stay a while). This guitar is so well made and plays great too. I'm not a Pro but I have 5 other guitars and this one is as good as any of them, just different (as they all are). I did have to put plumbers tape on the Trem bar thread to make it sit nicer. (as I usually have to with other guitars). The common issue with most guitars is tuning stability when using the Tremolo or when bending the G string.... This one is no exception and neither is the white one of these guitars that I also bought soon after :) They both needed some TLC and nut sauce to smooth things out like most guitars I've found. They are lovely to play and I keep wanting to pick them ... MoreAt it's Price point it is superb. Even the stock strings feel great (I normally upgrade them first, but these can stay a while). They are lovely to play and I keep wanting to pick them up and play them again. I upgraded the white guitar Bridge Humbucker to a pricey Seymour Duncan and discovered that (at bedroom levels at least) it wasn't the big improvement I was expecting (just different). Conclusion is that the stock Humbucker is more than fine on these guitars. Ibanez are making me want to experience more of their guitars since playing these and I am quickly gaining confidence in their quality control. The bridge and middle single coil pickups are nice enough, but I may try upgrading them one day. For now, I'm seeing if they grow on me with time. I Cannot fault the tuners at all, I am pleased to say. No Sharp fret ends :) and a lovely smooth neck. Truss rod adjusted very smoothly both ways. And It is great to be able to adjust the trem claw without having to remove the back plate. I would thoroughly recommend this guitar to a beginner or intermediate player. And Reaching the high notes of the 24 frets is super easy.
