These things are great. I wear them like t-shirts all "winter" long in Tallahassee. Throw on a Kuhl shell and there's not much North Florida winter weather you aren't equipped to handle comfortably. I have two black and one so-called Loden one and just bought a fourth, Navy one. But. "Loden" ain't Loden. I served for years in Germany and I know what Loden looks like when it's at home. This is olive drab.

I gifted this top to my boyfriend to help keep him warm on his morning hunting excursions in the fall and winter. He is just discovering the value of high quality base layers and wanted to give merino wool a try. Though I had never tried Icebreaker products before, I learned about them while working at REI and really support the company's values. I have to say we are both sold on both the product quality and customer service of Icebreaker now! I don't think my boyfriend will ever go back to wearing cotton in cold weather and wants to buy another Icebreaker shirt and the long underwear bottoms too! He loves how soft and insulating the fabric is, how quickly it dries if he sweats while continuing to keep him warm, and he's amazed that he can wear it multiple times without it smelling! He usually wears a Large, but I got him a Medium by accident, yet it fit perfectly with a little extra room if he wants to add any layers underneath. He's looking forward to expanding his Icebreaker wardrobe and gearing up to try snowboarding this winter. Thanks for the great introduction to your products Icebreaker!

Cozy, stylish, warm, functional. I'm 6' & 170lbs and the medium fits me snugly - just how I wanted. If you workout it will show off your muscles a bit which is always a plus. I wear it while running and keeps me warm enough in 20 degree weather after about 10-15 minutes of running. It's also nice and stylish enough that I can also wear it to work in a professional office environment, yet soft and comfortable enough that I also wear it while just reading in bed. Highly recommend. The clove is such a beautiful and unique color once you see it in person. I frequently get compliments on the color.

I have owned 5 of these 260 Tech Long Sleev, 4 with half-zip used mainly for bike commuting and one without ziper (used as pijama shirt when traveling). This review is based on a replacement on one of those that is frayed and has several holes due to intense use and wear. The design has changed significantly, they even renamed the product and it has a new product page. The sweater is now: extremely tight fitting, has NO THUMB HOLES and thereby shorter sleeves, the zipper and therefore the part that covers some of the neck is much shorter. Also, although this is 260g/m2, it seemed to me much thinner than the other four I had purchased 3 years ago. The material is almost see through and it does NOT seem as robust as with all my previous purchases. It seems clearly that Icebreaker is cutting production costs here. Finally, and this upset me quite a lot, the look of this shirt seems to be for base layer, almost underwear - the STITCHING is now FULLY on the OUTSIDE the outside (this was not the case in previous model before this "update"), and for me it just cannot be worn as a sweater for exmaple when going into town in the night. The stitching and the very snug fit makes it seem like a ski or winter undergarment - this was NOT the case with the older version, which was a more relaxed fit and had only one stitching line on the outside. The stitching looks now almost identically to the "everyday line", which is supposed to be the more budget line mainly due to rib fabric: EVERYDAY SHORT SLEEVE CREWE, 175 EVERYDAY LONG SLEEVE CREWE, 175 EVERYDAY LONG SLEEVE HALF ZIP . Still, material and functionality still are the best, I still use daily and fully recommend. Just be aware of what you are getting and the changes done to this model.
Excellent fit, very comfortable, efficiently wicks sweat away from the skin, breathes well so the body temperature stays relatively constant. Merino means you can hang it to dry and use it a few times before washing. Perfect as a single underlay in the current temperature just below 0 degrees. Protects the neck without rubbing.
I primarily got this base layer to add some warmth to outdoor hang outs at night during COVID times. It does add warmth without a lot of bulk and has been great for this purpose. It needs to be layered with other more heavy duty layers to withstand colder temps, of course. I have also found it great for hiking and even sleeping in. I have the half-zip one, and I wear it under t-shirts, which looks ridiculous. I should have gotten the one with no zipper for this purpose. BUT, this one looks great on it's own as a shirt, if you are looking for that. The biceps are a little tight and the arms are a touch long on me, but other than that, it is extremely comfortable and the fit is good. I struggle to find clothes that fit, though, and these issues are minor. I was ... MoreI primarily got this base layer to add some warmth to outdoor hang outs at night during COVID times. I haven't washed it yet, and I have worn it a bunch, and it doesn't smell. I love it. It was a birthday present to myself. I just wish Icebreaker wasn't so expensive.
I've been wearing Icebreaker for over a decade when I bought my first men's 320 Sport in chocolate brown (Bring back the brown!) in Portland Oregon. That piece still looks amazing today! I try to buy myself one nice piece of Icebreaker at least once a year, and I have to say this 260 Tech half zip is my new favorite piece! The weight is perfect, the weave is breathable, and yet still insulates very well while also being the softest piece of Icebreaker I've bought to date. I'm an Icebreaker fan for life but this piece really drives it home. Thanks for continuing to produce quality pieces for men that perform in and out of the weather.
I have an earlier version of this, and I have to say the new "260" is noticeably thinner than the old "260," so plan accordingly if you plan to use this as a base-layer for cold pursuits. I quite liked the thumb-holes on the old one, but no matter really. I bought this one to wear to work as a regular mock-neck and it works perfectly as casual wear. Soft and comfy, all the good stuff. I'm 5'11 / 170 and bought this in a large for casual wear purposes. Fit is great. My old one is a medium and I think that's the better size for a true base-layer.
I've been buying icebreaker products a long time and this Tech zip I like even better than the oasis line. It's a little thicker and the stretch on it is nice. Great for outdoor treks around town or on the trails. I'm 5'9 and 170lbs and the large fit fine. This piece is ideal if you're not doing high levels of physical activities outdoors. If that's your plan buy a lower merino weight garment because this one will be too hot. Would definitely buy the bottoms to complete the set. Highly recommend for any merino/wool clothing enthusiasts out there.
Hi All, i've been using this pair of 260 Tech Merino base layers for about 7 years now. They lasted about 500 plus ski and hiking days in that time. They're soft, comfortable, durable and the quality is perfect. AND, they don't smell, even after all that time, haha. I've just bought my second set as I got a hole in the crutch and the collar got shredded by my neck stubble over the years. I'll keep using them for outside work in the cold though. Just bought the same product and hope I get another 7 years out of these ones. I highly recommend them. Worth every cent. Cheers, Marc
