The merino is great at ventilation but also allows a bit of natural warmth. Great for any weather. The wool is soft and dries quickly. Resists chafing better than cotton or elastane blend underwear. Handles odour well when doing outdoor activities and is easy to clean while hiking or travelling. I have a few sets of these and will be using them to bike across the US this summer. Only negative is that the waistband likes to fold over on itself, but this isn't a major issue and won't stop be from buying in the future.

Great for the first few months, but these start thinning along the saddle seam that joins the front half to the back half. I've also had to mend a few along the side seam where the surged seam didn't catch both pieces of fabric. Not as "premium" as you'd expect. For comparison, underwear from a smarter wool brand is older and has not shown any similar signs of wear. Only expect to get a year out of these.

I've given up using bike shorts, in favour of these durable, non-irritating, comfortable merino undies.I wore them almost continually on a 4000km cycle tour last European summer over 3-4 months in 38C stinking hot weather, and never had the customary jock itch, seam "lump" or even infected sweat pores or hair follicles. Hastily rinsing them in fresh water was all we managed about every 2nd day due to filthy natural water sources and isolation. I bought another pair on our return as I was so impressed, and there's still no holes or stitch failure

I have a 31-32 waist, 29" inseam, lean, athletic build, especially legs. I wear a M in everything but often a L in shorts for the leg width (mainly cycling shorts). I have tried all the IB boxer fits and then the past 12 months found the "long" and won't go back. The regular anatomica boxers were so uncomfortable riding up but I wore them for years rotating at least 20 pair before finally giving up. The general wear was great - some would tear at the leg after a year or two of tugging them down, but otherwise held up well. The long length is perfect even for someone with a shorter 29" inseam. After a number of washes the legs of the Large were stretching out and also beginning to ride slightly (never very far), but only have several hours driving or walking, sitting/standing. The L are still "anatomic" yet a comfortable, snug fit. I've just this past week ordered 3 pairs of the mediums. Legs are just a tiny bit tight at the seam out of the dryer, but I can tell I'm a medium in these shorts which might mean they fit a little big given the size of cycling legs. Expecting the long to be even better in hot humid conditions and long travel days. Only complaints, more colors please (and nothing so odd like IB products colors have been over the years). Also, why the white lettering on the band on the grey boxer when the black has darker? The white looks tacky if it shows out of your shorts/pants. IB is not CK.
After disappointing drops in quality from my preferred brands, I decided to give these a go, despite previous, unsatisfactory experiments with using merino. I'm glad I made the change this time. The material is comfortable, well cut and non-irritating. I have some concerns about the longevity of them compared to my previous brands, which have done anything up to 20 years without loss of comfort or shape! The waistbands in particular do not feel as though they will take much wear. However, a couple of months in and all is good so far.
They're amazing, genuinely feels like you're wearing nothing at all. Super breathable, no chafing, never sweaty and they fit like a dream. They're not cheap but they're definitely worth the price.I first bought these a couple years ago but just bought a fresh few pairs for my gap year. Currently wearing these in my trip to the Sahara Desert and honestly they are heaven. I genuinely couldn't imagine going back to any other underwear after trying these.
I initially bought 3 pairs, on e for a mate and 2 pairs fo me as we both wanted merino and a longer leg.was a bit underwhelmed with the elastic waist band not being too strong, narrow and not a firm hold. Then I thought nah I'm just being picky but after a few months the waist band isn't great and rolls over r as another review has mentioned also. Should put Icebreaker on the back of the waistband and do some free advertising. The size chart said medium but they were a bit tight but probably had I gone L the legs may have been looser and I have pretty solid quads. Pouch could be a bit t more formed and longer meat and boys, wouldn't run in them or you'd have slippage. Merino scratchy. All in all a bit overpriced but couldn't be bothered sending them back. My $24.00 Aldi ones win for me. Sorry Icebreaker was hoping for more at this end of the price range.Packaging must be worth $10.00 get rid of it it's merino, natural go for some eco.package...men don t need a sexy box that goes straight to the bin.
so disappointed with these. i expected more from icebreaker than lame greenwashing claims. instead, i got a pair of underwear that after a month the plasticy-elasticy coating that makes these stretchy started delaminating (always cold-water washed, hung to dry) and now, after a little over 6 months, has completely delaminated and shed its microplastic self into laundry wastewater. i'm not sure how "corespun" fabric delaminates into the droopy baggy mess these have become.
live in them, they are best merino boxer I have found so far. This is all I use and have several pair on rotation. I have found that some pair have lasted longer than others but I haven't exactly been scientific in my use so hard to know if its uneven use or variable material quality. I would have to say that its always the Bottom & Gusset that blows out first (far beyond the rest of the garment is ready to give up which makes me wish Icebreaker would address this with maybe a heaver weight panel or something in the gusset/bottom cleft area - I recon it wouldn't be hard to do better. All round great boxer though, comfy, temp regulating, wouldn't be without them, Aces High!!
The Icebreaker Merino Anatomica Boxers look and feel like premium boxers. The fabric mixture of 83% Merino Wool/ 12% Nylon/ 5% LYCRA is an excellent choice from the overall quality standpoint. It feels comfortably against the skin. It is on a thin side though and I am not sure if it would be durable if sitting on a commuter bike much. Overall, it is a great choice for walking or hiking.
