From day treks to thru-hikes, Icebreaker's Sphere II Short-Sleeve T-Shirt keeps us feeling fresh. The Tencel-merino blend holds strong through long days in the backcountry as it wicks away our sweat and staves off our stench, all while feeling ultra-soft against our skin.

I love my 2023 Sphere II Cool-lite t-shirts in light blue, but this one is way too see-through! Even indoors in normal light, the outline of my belly button, my sports bra (which matches my skin color) and straps, and the top of my shorts all show through clearly. Don't want to imagine a photo from a sunny day outside. They also made the neckline less flattering and versatile (IMO) by eliminating the slight scoop of last year's. Returning this one and keeping it in black (despite the neckline) though I really wanted a happier color and the slight scoop neck.

These Sphere II shirts are my new favorite Icebreaker purchase. They are so soft, not scratchy, light enough to wear in hot weather but still warm on cooler days. I now own the short- and long-sleeved versions in several colors. They are especially great for travel. Pack up light, wear several times w/o getting stinky, wash in the sink, dry overnight, and repeat!

I have about six of these Sphere T-Shirts in various colours which I wear with Icebreaker culottes as my work 'uniform'. The pattern for these shirts has changed. All the previous shirts have the tape that is sewn into the seam that runs across the back of the neck, extending onto the top shoulder seams. My new Flash coloured shirt does not have this and it makes the shirt less 'tailored' and hang more sloppily from the shoulders. The Flash size L also fits a bit bigger than my other size L ones. Disappointing as I was about to purchase the Heather Clove coloured shirt next because I've been hanging out for a 'brown' shirt to be produced, but it really looks much too casual for work.

I have worn icebreaker for years, everything from base layers, socks, zip ups to undies and this shirt is as great as all my other items. Perfect fit. Not too tight, soft and so breathable. I purchased 3 colors and all fit the same. You don't always find that from other brands. Many times I've found one color fits different than another. Not with icebreaker. Can't say enough! and I got them on sale! Can't beat it!
I bought the black one before a trip to Italy in 2022. Love the light, silkier texture, and the bottom hem, which looks great untucked as it's not just straight across. Not too fitted at hem either so great for wider hips, and can buy the S that fits my shoulders and chest. Neckline works with a sports bra-find many Icebreaker t-shirt necklines too wide for that. Bought more in light colours during recent sale, but am disappointed that the lighter colours are more see-through.
Bought this as my second ice breaker shirt! The cut is a bit smaller than the straight across hem shirt that I already own, but it still fits my broad shoulders quite well. I love the merino material for its door-resistance and all day comfort. The light grey colour does show sweat stains quite easily, so be warned if that's something that bugs you. Overall very satisfied with this product and I'm happy that I was able to snag it whilst on sale.
I own a lot of wool-blend tshirts at this point, and the Icebreaker Sphere II is the silkiest of them all. It's a perfect travel shirt, and I'll be taking it on ALL my adventure trips in the future. I'm wearing the heather gray one now and honestly, it feels like you're not wearing anything. Even my hubby who thinks wool is always itchy is jealous and asked me to order a different color in the men's Sphere II for him. As for the sizing, it's spot on. If this fantastic t-shirt is on sale and you're considering buying one - go for it.
i rarely buy two of something at the same time, especially when i haven't tried it on! But I got 2 of these on sale and happy I did. I have a large bust (36DD), so I got the large and while it's roomy, the t-shirt is nicely shaped. I appreciate the curved hem, also. It's flattering. It will be interesting to see how the Tencel/Merino blend performs and washes. Haven't tested it in that way, yet.
This is a long-term review after using this shirt for about 1200 miles (about 3 months) of my Appalachian Trail thru-hike. I wanted merino as I needed all the help I could get managing hiker stink. This shirt dried reasonably fast, was comfortable, and didn't hold on to stink as badly as full synthetic fabrics. My first merino t-shirt from another brand was not durable enough for backpacking and pilled a lot, which made it itchy. On average, I would wear it for 6 days of hiking between proper washings, though it might get rained on or rinsed out (to manage sweaty salt buildup) in between. By the last week, it had worn tissue-thin in spots, but I was able to reinforce around the holes as a field repair to keep me going. This was not in a direct friction spot like under a strap.I wish the sleeves were a little longer as my inner arms could get irritated by my backpack straps, but this was a rare occurrence for me.
I bought the shirt in the Vibrant Earth Heather colour, size Medium. For reference I am 5'10" tall, weigh about 140lbs and wear between a size 6 to 8. The shirt fits pretty much true to size and has a lovely silky drape about it. It isn't form fitting, but has more of a loose swathe about it, which I find comfortable. However, if you would prefer a more fitted look, I would size down. The shirt is airy, without being see through. The colour is true to the image which was represented on my screen, a warm coral colour, bit more orangey than peach in hue.I like the shirt, and will be wearing it mostly for travel.
