I have been an ICOM fan for years and the A25N does not fall short. I tested it on the ground at my airport (S50) and other pilots several miles away heard me "loud and clear". The speaker is clear and capable of loud volume. The included headset adapter and AA battery pack are appreciated, as the AA pack will always be ready to go as a backup in case the NiCad pack eventually wont hold a charge. The display is large and I can easily see the frequency. Programming is easy and grouping channels is efficient. Bluetooth works perfectly with my DC X-one headset. Also included is the ability to tune in VOR's. With ForeFlight this may never be needed, but this radio is for backup anyway, so any navigation aid is helpful. The NiCad battery lasts a long time.

I only give it 4 stars because I wish it had a full instruction book with it. I haven't figured out how to input a second "saved" frequency yet.
I Started with the Icom A23, then the Icom A24, and just purchased the Icom A25N from Marv Golden. This is an excellent backup Aviation Radio built to Icom's usual high standard. The addition of GPS and Bluetooth is excellent. Programming was quick and easy, even for the complicated Airspace around Chicago.
I bought this radio to help with clearances and atis information before takeoff. (Based out of a class C airport) This is the best radio I've used. ATC can hear me clearly, and it is very easy to use with my Bose A20. My instructor even did a Nav failure with me, and I tracked the VORs, and even shot an ILS on this radio without a hitch. 10/10!
I bought it for it's VOR capabilities. I also have a YAESU FTA 850L.It is much more logical and direct for GPS navigation but a little less so for VOR. The ICOM is hopeless for GPS IMO. For COMM they are both OK...There it is...
Have not used much but seems easy to use
One of the main premiums of this radio over others are the navigation features. However, since the radio itself has no data points, to really utilize it you have to use the mobile app, RS-AERO1A. The problem is that Icom has abandoned it. The last time this app has been updated was in 2017. So you're paying a high premium for functionality you will not be able to fully utilize.
