iD3 3-Step Knife Sharpener by Baccarat

Inspired by the Baccarat iD3 range of high performance knives, this knife sharpener gives knives a professional razor sharp edge. It is extremely easy to use with three steps that prepare, sharpen and polish the knifes blade. Step 1 uses a diamond abrasive edge that sculpts the knife blade, ensuring it is smooth and free from burrs. Step 2 is a tungsten steel blade for sharpening and honing the dull edge of the blade. Step 3 is a ceramic edge that finishes off the process by polishing the blade. The Baccarat iD3 Knife Sharpener has an ergonomic handle that you use to grip the tool and non-slip grips prevent it from slipping. All you have to do is place the knife sharpener on a stable surface and pull the knife 3 times across each step. The steps are even labelled for easy identification. Then you simply clean the knife to remove any metal fragments and it is good to use!

Great easy to use sharpener

I'm not a chef so I love how this sharpener does a great job & is easy to use. Works better than other sharpeners I've used.

Have not used yet as brought for a gift, but box was so crushed on arrival, it looks as though I'm gifting a second hand item. Extremely disappointed. Second item I have ordered. First order was a set of $800 pots made in Italy and one is completely out of shape. Unsure if I will use this company again. Also second order was sent to totally wrong address, just lucky I was able to track it down.

Might need to start with an old grinding stone!

Maybe this item only works if the knife you are trying to hone/sharpen is still quite sharp, as it does not seem to have done anything to the 3 knives I used it on. Having said that one of the knives was a Baccarat knife and it had been used heavily over a number of years, before losing its "edge".

Not fit for Purpose
29 August 2022

I bought my Baccarat ID3 three step knife sharpener to attempt to keep my Baccarat knife collection sharp. Unfortunately, and after a considerable deliberation as to which one was best, I purchased this product. Now I am a builder/carpenter and certainly know my way around tools and how they function, however, this product is in one word useless!! I seriously do not understand how something can be so poor. I have used similar products with some better results and did not expect miracles but I did expect at least a minor increase in sharpness......not with my purchase. I'll just have to stick to using the hand held steel.

Styled well and handle is ergonomically designed. Easy and good to use. Gives confidence that quality knives are correctly sharpened.

This is seriously so worth it. The thing I tend to rate my knives sharpness on the most is tomatoes because they tend to slip and if the knife isn’t sharp it either ends up squashing it or I need to break the skin to get through. Dude.. sharpened one of my ID3 knives before making some salsa and lost my mind. Just do it. Seriously.

Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to work for/with any of my kitchen knives.I’ve tried numerous attempts at pressure, speed, angles, repetition and my knives aren’t getting any sharper.Disappointing :(
