iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit - Electronics Smartphone Computer & Tablet Repair Kit

The iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit has been specially designed to meet the diverse demands of modern electronics repairs and offers a comprehensive selection of tools. At the heart of this kit is the Mako Precision Bit Set, which is equipped with 64 precision bits (4 mm) made of high-quality S2 steel and offers the right counterpart for almost every screw. From Phillips and slotted bits to various safety Torx, pentalobe and tri-point, the right tool is included for every device, whether smartphone, laptop or games console. The bit set is supplied in a practical bit case with foam insert, magnetic lock and integrated sorting tray, which ensures organisation and easy access. The ergonomically designed screwdriver made of anodised aluminium forms the basis of the set, with a knurled grip zone for high precision and a ball-bearing swivel cap for easy handling. There is also a flexible shaft extension, which makes it possible to work in hard-to-reach places. In addition to bits, the set includes an earthing strap to prevent electrostatic discharge, a suction lifter, three iFixit opening tools, six opening picks and various tweezers and spudgers to safely lever or lay sensitive components. A magnetic base makes it easier to hold screws and small parts, while the tool roll ensures that all parts can be transported in an organised manner.

Thank you so much for this kit! The display on my wife's 2016 15" Macbook Pro A1707 began shutting off when the lid was opened more than ~40°. I watched a Louis Rossman FlexGate video, ordered this iFixIt Pro Tech toolkit, and opened up the machine today following the iFixit screen replacement guide for this machine. Sure enough, when I opened the lid all the way, I could see the backlight cable was bent sharply with a crack of exposed wire.Thinking I had nothing to lose, I did several things:• Disconnected the cable and used an X-Acto knife to file back the edge of the circuit board underneath, where the cable wraps around. Just 1-2 mm, to give the cable a bit more room.• Bent the cable downwards with tweezers between the connector and the cracked area, to make ... MoreThank you so much for this kit! Even with the lid past 90°! We'll see if it lasts for more than a day. :)

Recommend for every household.

Featuring 64 precision bits, don't get caught without the correct bit ever again. I've used this kit for everything..from replacing batteries to modding my Nintendo Switch. All the little plastic instruments are so helpful in ensuring you don't damage your device as you take it apart. I am always so surprised how much they packed into the case whenever I open it up.Overall, it is a high quality tool set that EVER computer should have

[Rewarded Review] Bits that fit and spudgers for days
22 June 2023

There are two groups of people. Those who really need this and those who don't. If you do any amount of tinkering or fixing small devices or laptops, this could really be a good idea. I used to work in hardware and TV repair and would have loved to have had this then.Fixing small devices isn't just about unscrewing things. There is a lot of plastic and glass to work with as well, and there are tools included for just that. Maybe you can finally fix something without scratching and dinging it up! You'll get a ton of screwdriver bits, and over the years will find great glee when you encounter the corresponding screws out in the wild. Maybe a gift for the techy nephew you keep asking for hardware support?

Whether you want to take apart your laptop or put it back together again, this kit has all the right tools for the job. Does your laptop have teeny tiny screws with stars or other weird shapes instead of a flat or Phillip's head? This kit has you covered. Do you know somebody who likes to take apart small electronic devices? Get them this kit, it will make a great gift. It includes some plastic picks too, so after you use them to pop your laptop case apart and change your battery, you can take them to guitar practice. ;)

[Rewarded Review] Great Multipurpose Toolkit!
15 February 2024

This toolkit will assist you in opening the toughest repairable device. There are many tools and steel screwdriver bits to choose from. Unfortunately, one of my tools already broke within a couple of weeks of using this toolkit. It was the reverse nylon tweezers. (tip broke) I believe it was defective because I did not put a lot of pressure on the tool but yet it broke. All I was doing was taking out a small broken piece of lightning cable that was stuck inside an iPad charging port.Besides the faulty tool, this kit will do it all. I hope iFixit replaces the tips on the tool because I seriously do believe in their products and am all for repairability.

[Rewarded Review] Great quality, excellent but overpriced

I got this kit after being tired of constantly needing to use a specific bit to get my devices open. Apple sure doesn’t make it easy to open anything. This kit didn’t disappoint quality wise. The packaging is nice and the overall build and ease of use is excellent. I was surprised by the weight of it when I initially picked it up. It’s also covered by Ifixit’s warranty which I hope they’ll honor if any bits get stripped. However, I do think the asking price of 75-80 dollars is a bit excessive, especially since you only get a handful of plastic tools that will end up needing to be replaced (such as your guitar picks and pry tools). Overall, I’d still recommend the Ifixit Pro Tech Toolkit for anyone who wants to invest in a kit and never have to worry (for the most ... MoreI got this kit after being tired of constantly needing to use a specific bit to get my devices open. Yeah, it's a tool kit. There's lots of cheap knock offs of the iFixit kits available online and I used one a ton for a few years until the driver got wobbly and all of the spudgers and pry tools were thoroughly done. So that tool kit has been relegated to my car while this iFixit kit gets to go in the workbench. It has everything I needed to replace an entire keyboard on a Macbook Pro, everything I needed to swap drifting joysticks on Joycons, and I even got an old Samsung tablet taken apart with it.Expect the spudgers to get destroyed - they're meant to break before anything you're working on might break. So they won't stay pointy for long. I get those in bulk, but it would have been nice if there was some extra space in the kit for me to customize what kinda tools are in there a little bit. Like a spare spudger or something. You might occasionally encounter a device that needs a fine screw that's deep inside something. For those edge cases, a spare jeweler's kit is nice to have around. For example, the Switch Pro Controller has one philips 00 screw that's like 1.5" deep that these bits and the driver are too thick to get to. Which, again, would have been nice if there was some leeway space in the kit for me to slot in one or two of those longer drivers. The driver in the bit set is all metal and very buttery smooth. Most of the kit was really standard, but that driver made me feel spoiled with how smooth and controlled it is.If there's anything I'd change, its the fact that the bits are in these foam slots where they're labeled with little engravings in the foam. These are nearly impossible to read. For a kit as expensive as this one, I would have expected the labels to be painted, or silk screened, or even printed on. They're so hard to read, I think I might actually just hand fill them in with a light colored gel pen or something because even if I completely mess up, it wouldn't change how hard it is to read them.Overall, it's a bit pricey and pretty standard for what you'd get, but it's very well made and I really support the free guides on the iFixit website. If you're interested in repairing various things or even just taking a peek inside your electronics, I highly recommend this kit.

I have bought this kit due to my interest of upgrading my RAM and SSD on my 2023 Asus ROG M16, the only thing I can say is that I had every tool that I could ever need whenever surgically taking apart the hardware for my GU604IV.My recent and first upgrade was replacing the default DDR5 RAM to Crucial’s 64GB 5200MT/s kit, the first lesson that the kit taught, just by what it provides me and how my selected tools performed, is that it’s a careful and complex process where you have to pay attention to how much pressure you give off to the tool onto the screws and that even static discharge can ruin your day — which, thankfully, did not happen as I, and my father, developed a makeshift grounded wire clipped onto my nearby bathroom pipe.Speaking of static discharge, ... MoreI have bought this kit due to my interest of upgrading my RAM and SSD on my 2023 Asus ROG M16, the only thing I can say is that I had every tool that I could ever need whenever surgically taking apart the hardware for my GU604IV.My recent and first upgrade was replacing the default DDR5 RAM to Crucial’s 64GB 5200MT/s kit, the first lesson that the kit taught, just by what it provides me and how my selected tools performed, is that it’s a careful and complex process where you have to pay attention to how much pressure you give off to the tool onto the screws and that even static discharge can ruin your day — which, thankfully, did not happen as I, and my father, developed a makeshift grounded wire clipped onto my nearby bathroom pipe.Speaking of static discharge, I would have appreciated if the kit came with a anti-static discharge arm band as it’s a necessary equipment if you care about the longevity of your possibly high-dollar hardware. I understand iFixIt already has bundle that includes it with an antistatic mat, although just the band itself would suffice if you have a stripped wire and a grounded pipe to wrap the wire around on which then you clip the armband onto the stripped wire.Again, to reiterate, this is the best kit Best Buy can offer for incoming enthusiasts that loves to upgrade and modify their laptop/PC.
