Do not purchase this item unassembled, unless you are a confident wood worker or know one. Unboxed this, excited to be able to reach shelves in my new place & unpack. My wife grumbles why I didn't get a metal one from a hardware store for $10. Fast forward 2 hours, I'm having a meltdown about being a useless twink, wife steps in. The holes are drilled wrong. She says we should take it back but I can do this! More fighting etc. The stool sits under the coffee table for a week like an admonition. (My wife is right but we know this, it's in her title) Eventually my ex comes over & asks what's up with the half assembled stool. I mumble an explanation, she cheerfully slaps it together. LO! My wife reminds me to put her into my will. Another butch comes over & puts things on the shelves for me. Anyway, time to get a will kit.

This product is a bit difficult to assemble because getting everything lined up just right can be a little hard. Also, it’s not coated, so the wood is rough, which I do not care for. I want to be able to use it with bare feet, but I’d definitely get a splinter. Otherwise, it is sturdy and hangs up nicely.

I love this stool but hate the warning stickers that they have plastered on the top step. I understand safety is important but I don't think that the sticker needs to be placed here. I took the sticker off and now I'm waiting for the adhesive to slowly wear off because, with it being unfinished, I can't remove the adhesive with any chemicals, goo gone, etc.

Easy assembly. It is not as compact as I imagined- which makes storage a bit challenging- materials make it heavy too.Easy ensemble. But wish I had a lighter weight smaller profile stool.
I’ve had this stool for over 6 years now, and it’s still as sturdy as it was when new, without any re-tightening of screws or anything. I’ve been very impressed with its build quality, and I’m sure it’ll last many more years to come! The timber is unvarnished but smooth and well finished; mine’s become discoloured over the years from being stood on and occasionally getting wet - if I bought it again I’d probably put the effort in to varnish it before using it. Highly recommended!
I have been waiting to order this black 3 step ladder/stool for the last 5months, still the stock shows as unavailable in Australia.I have left my contact number few times to notify when the product is available.Disappointed! Please delete the black stool from your product list.Thank you.
Although this ladder looked great in the showroom, I am disappointed with it. Steps are unsafe as far too narrow, no non-slip base so it slides when you step on it on wooden floors, also one of the steps was damaged. Will be returning when I can get to a store again (2 hours drive away). Generally very happy with ikea products and quality, but not this product, especially for the price (paid $70).
This product came with large warning stickers on several steps that has very sticky glue that I have been unable to remove. I get that these lawsuit protecting stickers, (do you remember the coffee caution hot.. )are required. But for those who are capable of using a three step ladder please let us remove them without needing mineral spirits or some toxic product. In addition pay attention to the diagram that shows this step ladder does not fold flat! So if you want to store it hang it, put it in a corner it takes up soooo much space. The exact amount of space is on the diagram. My bad I assumed like every other ladder I have ever owned it would good flat! Don’t make the same mistake as I did. Otherwise it’s a nice little solid ladder that does most of what I wanted.
Great little stepladder, sturdy, versatile, aesthetically pleasing. Have used it often since purchasing for different reasons - reaching upper cabinets, as a prop in a photo shoot, painting the tops of my window frames, as a serving table outside the door of a COVID patient, and as a side table next to sofa when we had guests… very happy with form and function of our Bekvam!
As much as it folds, it takes around 6-8 inches of floor space when folded, unless hung well over the floor. At 5'8", I can drill holes in my 9'6" high ceiling with this, so it works well if I'm balanced.Installing it is not the most easy, as not all the bolt-holes are aligned perfectly.
